Ambien generic manufacturers

Common Questions and Answers about Ambien generic manufacturers

ambien

Avatar n tn Yes, although the generic manufacturers are supposed to duplicate the exact chemical composition of the name- brand drug that they make, I happen to know that there are differences in the peak serum levels. I used to sell generic drugs and know that there are subtle differences. We used to provide BA/BE studies for our pharmacists and physicians - that's bioavailability and bioequivalency studies, which show things like the peak serum levels, etc.
Avatar f tn This was an issue when Ambien went generic. Many of the generic zolpidem formulations don't work. You can find forums on the internet where people talk about finding the generic zolpidem that is the exact same formulation as the original Ambien tablet.
Avatar m tn Teva is known to be one of the least trustworthy generic manufacturers out there, though any of them can make a bad product. Unfortunately, Teva is also the biggest, and most pharmacies carry their stuff. It's usually okay, but brand names are usually best as they have better quality control -- but insurance these days often won't cover brand name drugs if a generic exists.
Avatar f tn And different generic manufacturers have better reputations for consistent product quality.
Avatar f tn i have been using ambien for many years now. i used the ambien and it's generic form zolpidem. it has always work up until two months ago when apparently the pharmacy changed suppliers. i took the little round purle pill up until then and now i take a white oval one. This one does not seem to be working as well and the side effect just seem wierd Does anyone think that the new manufacturer product is inferior and has anyone experienced this?
Avatar f tn what is a generic drug?
Avatar m tn CVS and Walgreens, for example, tend to use different generic manufacturers because CVS owns its own pharmacy benefits manager and therefore is much more restrictive on who they'll buy from. Because you should be able to special order the ones you had before if you know which manufacturer it was, assuming it's still available -- there's a lot of consolidation through mergers going on in the generic drug industry.
Business woman2 The Venlafaxine ER 75 MG Capsules that we stock are from two manufacturers, Teva and Aurobendo. Both manufacturers do not use neither Lactose nor Gluten as inactive ingredients. I hope that will be helpful. Thank you again.
Avatar f tn If you're on a generic, yes, many people do find that generics are often less effective than brand names and some generic manufacturers are better than others. Others don't notice these things. Generics are not identical to brand name drugs, they are similar enough to work pretty much the same but our bodies differ and might not absorb the generic as well.
Avatar m tn , the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, which President Obama signed on March 23, 2010, authorized the Food and Drug Administration to approve generic versions of biologic drugs and grant biologics manufacturers 12 years of exclusive use before generics can be developed. Some else may have heard a rumor as to cost of new DAA meds. All new drugs will probably be rather expensive so either a trial or insurance will be needed to pay for the meds. Cheers!
Avatar n tn Ambien (zolpiedem) helped me. It works quickly, doesn't give a morning hangover and is pretty cheap as it's available as a generic. I haven't tried the Ambien CR (time released, non-generic). Only thing about ambien is that, for me, I wake up after about 6 hours. But those 6 hours are pretty solid sleep.
148588 tn?1465778809 The introduction of tweaked drugs in turn led to a burst of lawsuits by generic drug manufacturers challenging the legitimacy of the new patents and gave birth of a new cottage industry in the legal world. In reverse-settlement cases, the brand-name manufacturer pays the plaintiff to drop the suit and, in exchange, agree not to make a generic version of the drug for a specified period of time.
Avatar m tn Are you taking generic levo as opposed to a brand name? If so, the generics used by the two pharmacies might be from two entirely different manuacturers, This is often the reason endos give for using brand names only. However, given that these are T4-only meds, that drastic a change in one day is unlikely due to the hormones in the two. BUT, different manufacturers use different fillers or binders, and you may have had a reaction to those.
Avatar f tn I've been on Synthroid for about six-plus years. When finally diagnosed as hypo, my previous doctor said he wasn't even going to bother with generic because it doesn't work and put me on Synthroid. I knew my mother had issues with generic not working, so I wasn't going that route anyway. I've always insisted on name brand, but have had a doctor accidentally write a script for generic once before and it didn't work.
Avatar m tn For the mood tracker, could you please add Ambien or its generic Zolpidem to the list of medications currently listed?
Avatar m tn i also was perscribed ambien, i felt worse after taking it so i am living with the insomnia.
492921 tn?1321289896 I do not respond to generic Ambien the same as the brand Ambien. I would recommend trying the brand, if you can afford it. It can make all of the difference. I am so, so sorry to hear about your miscarriage and your post traumatic stress. Sleep will be very important in your recovery, so I hope that you can get this resolved. I would not recommend using xanax for sleep, however. What dosage are you taking?
Avatar n tn hi,I have been on the same generic version of cytomel since July.once i tried another brand and i swear it made me feel ill, like slow walking..anyways we changed pharmasists and the only kind they have is the one i felt made me sick..so im trying it today..would there be any difference.i dont see how just a different manafactuer could make the pill make me feel bad I think Im just scared.
5066844 tn?1363095904 Your pharmacy probably just changed the manufacturer from which they buy their generic levo. The different manufacturers use different fillers in their tablets (the active ingredients in all are the same), and sometimes people react to those. One argument for taking a brand name rather than generic is that the manufacturer will always be the same. This keeps what you are taking more constant. Try calling your pharmacy to see if they have any of the old meds left.
Avatar m tn s true that different manufacturers use different fillers (these are used by both brand and generic manufacturers) and some people are sensitive to them. Often, switching brands or from generic to a brand name or brand name to generic can make a world of difference. You can take your meds any time that works best for you. The rule of thumb, though, is also that you should not have had anything to eat or drink for 3-4 hours prior to taking meds, i.e. your stomach is empty.
Avatar n tn Maybe they are gearing up to move everyone to generic Valtrex which I am sure will have a greater profit margin than acyclovir. I would hate to think that the drug companies are going to try to force people into a more expensive option but it wouldn't surprise me. I know there are people here that are more "plugged in" to this industry/topic than I am. Do you have any thoughts? I would be interested to know.
Avatar f tn Purdue Pharma won the lawsuit and all the generic manufacturers that were producing Oxycontin had to exit the market. A similar scenario happened with Opana ER. Endo Pharmaceuticals reformulated Opana ER so that it couldn't be crushed and snorted. When they did that, it extended their patent for at least another 10 years. The difference in this case is there remains two strengths of generic Opana ER on the market that are manufactured by Actavis Pharmaceuticals.
Avatar f tn s not so much about not using generics as it is that most pharmacies buy whatever generic they can get the cheapest price on, so you risk changing brands every time they get a new product in--with something like thyroid that relies on levels, you need to ensure the brand stays the same. I just alert my pharmacist to flag my file on my warfarin (which requires titration levels too) that if they change the brand, I need to know, because I'll need to be retested.
Avatar m tn Prozac has been generic for a very long time, there are several companies now making generic versions. Precisely which were your before and after brands of generic prozac (fluoxetine hydrochloride)?
7991152 tn?1396061810 Synthroid and Levoxyl are the 2 main ones. Then there are also several manufacturers of generic levothyroxine sodium. All manufacturers are allowed a certain "tolerance", meaning their products can vary by a certain amount. Some argue that generics are not as good as brand names. While there may some variance, an 88 mcg pill should contain 88 mcg levothyroxine +- the allowed tolerance.
Avatar m tn My wife has been Zolpidem (generic Ambien) for 20+ yrs. She recently took a job in China and has been told the ultrasound show 'fatty infiltration of the liver'. She is 50 yrs old and drinks only occasionally and excercises and eats well/healthy for the most part. Could her long-term use of Zolpidem have contributed to this liver problem?
Avatar n tn re both desiccated hormones. NP is sometimes considered a generic for Armour. The actual T4 and T3 amounts are supposed to be the same, but the fillers/binders are different because they're made by different manufacturers. You might do better on one or the other. If you did better and want to go back to the NP, tell your pharmacy to do that or try a different pharmacy.
