Ambien dosage instructions

Common Questions and Answers about Ambien dosage instructions

ambien

Avatar m tn Have you started tapering down your dosage per your doctor's instructions? Just make sure you are not adjusting dosage or quitting it without talking to your doctor first; just ensure you follow his/her instructions. Doing it on your own can cause many unpleasant symptoms that you would not really have to endure if you take it as prescribed.
Avatar m tn The plan is to take both at betdime and gradually reduce the ambien dosage until I no longer need it at all. The trazodone is supposed to help me sleep when the ambien wears off. He said the trazodone was not addictive and I could easily quit it after the ambien is out of my system. Does anyone have any experience with this and does it sound like a plan that will work? I've only been taking the ambien for three months.
Avatar f tn The highest recommended dosage of regular ambien (not CR) is 10 mg daily at bedtime. That doubling of the dose is a troubling issue since once that runs its course, where do you go from there? I would attempt to begin a tapering down with the cooperation of your doctor otherwise eventually you may have to go to a detox facility. The fact that you aren't taking any other medications (or are you?) should make the tapering a bit easier.
Avatar m tn I have been taking Ambien for sleep for about a month. I take 17.5mg (one whole tablet, and 3/4 of another) because I had to increase my dosage several times, and I upped it by 1/4 tablet each time. I didn't quite make it to two tablets before I got to the point where I don't need it, but am basically addicted to it. The condition requiring this is slowly fading, and I would like to eliminate my dependence on Ambien completely. How do I go about doing this?
Avatar f tn Hi y'all! I just got signed up here I'm not got a addiction yet lol that's why I am wanting to ask everyone if someone could help. I just started pain management yesterday for thoracic outlet syndrome I'm in physical therapy I go two times a week and am trying to do anything to keep me from surgery. But anyways the pain doc I went to was a big butthole to me since he has never heard of what I have he almost didn't help even tho my thoracic doc requested me to go to him.
3167984 tn?1343971042 ive been taking celexa ambien and welbrutrin oh and naproxin plus prenatel pills after delevery. is this safe.
Avatar m tn Yes, there are different dosages for Xanax and ambien. Ambien is a once at night medication, Xanax is usually one pill three times a day as needed. I don't have experience with klonopin or Zoloft, your MD will know.
Avatar f tn Thank you so much for your post. I have started decreasing my dosage of Ambien and hopefully that will work soon.
491910 tn?1209366193 then 30...and so on until its 5 then jump off. I have ambien, rozerem scripts myself but stopped the ambien and made it a once a week or less thing because it can be bad news. You might want to see if the Dr will switch you to say lunesta and see if you can use that while getting off ambien or when you tapered low enough to jump and switch. Good luck.
Avatar m tn I came off the same dosage as you 12 weeks ago, except I also quit the ambien at the same time. I was prescribed the .5 xanax for sleep and took it at night only. Well, eventually I needed 1mg to sleep, and at the same time I was experiencing rebound nausea, anxiety and all sorts or weird feelings during the day, due to the short half life of xanax. The ambien had also stopped helping me sleep after several months of usage on and off.
Avatar n tn Before I began the clonazepam the ambien was very effective, but after I started the clonazepam the ambien was worthless. I think that is because the two classes of drugs share cross-tolerance. I have been curious about trazadone as a sleep aid since I have a hard time falling asleep most of the time. I am ok once I fall asleep and I sleep through the night but falling asleep can take me half the night w/o any meds to make me drowsy.
1737879 tn?1386202314 I am taking 10mg of Ambien at night and have been taking it for about 3 months now because I have not been sleeping. I am wanting to stop taking it. I tried a few nights to stop but never could fall asleep. how would I be able to stop taking it? I do not abuse it and only take it as directed I just don't want to rely on anything. I started taking it due to other health issues I have one being ovarian cancer.
Avatar m tn He probably will increase your dosage but never do this on your own, follow his instructions. They normally will start you out on a low dosage, see if it helps, and if not they either increase it or switch medications. Always work closely with your doctor on your medications. Take care.
Avatar f tn Apparently, my insurance has decided that I am at risk for taking Ambien. They don't tell me the risk, so they won't allow the script to be filled. Therefore, if my doctor writes me a script for Lunesta or Ambien, what would be my cost without insurance? I'm 75 yrs. young, look 60 and have a good nights sleeps with this product. They don't tell me what the risks are, which is a thorn in my side.
Avatar f tn I am almost at day 20 and have no desire to EVER have a frggin opaite again. I could have never acheived this without ambien and xanex. I have always had panic attacks and never been a good sleeper. I know before the wd from opiates never let me sleep so I would take about 30mg of ambien and when that runsout I switch to my xanex. I sleep well but now I want to be off everything is my body gonna freak out. I take about 2mg of xanex right now.
Avatar f tn Tylenol is unveiling new maximum dosage instructions for paracetamol or acetaminophen in the US. The new instructions state a maximum total daily of 3,000 mg versus the old maximum of 4,000 mg. Additionally, it states to take the over the counter dosage every 6 hours instead of every 4 to 6 hours. These new instructions seem to be specific to their over the counter products not prescription medications.
Avatar f tn Like you, I didn't think I could do the hydrocodone and ambien. I'm trying to tapper off the ambien also. I was on 10mg. how much did you reduce it and for how long? Thank you for your post.
8593574 tn?1398970803 Up to two every 4-6 hours not to exceed 8 in 1 day. I think that's correct. The dosage is written on the bottle, do not exceed the dosage.
Avatar f tn I am sorry but i am going to just say it, no way to the Ambien, and come on you know the dosage, we all know the dosage we are addicts, if it said take 1 we all took 2 plus. Get in the bath, have some sleepy time tea, get in bed and read a book, and just breathe and relax and go to sleep, if you cant sleep meditate, read, and or pray. You got this, i know you have it in you to fight.
Avatar n tn My health care provider has prescribed Ambien as a stop-gap measure. It did not keep me asleep last night. She advises that I hang in there for a while and things may "adjust". If they don't, she'd like to refer me to an endo. BTW, I've been laid off and am paying a fortune for COBRA coverage. Question: is this period of adjustment "normal"? Any thoughts regarding treatment options?
1568041 tn?1311615212 I have a friend who takes two 10 mg of ambien evernight along with 4 to 6 benadryls to sleep. This is everynight and has been doing it for ohhh i would say at least a year. She doesnt take anything else or drink. Do u think this is an issue at all? She says she cannot sleep well any other way. And if this is the case is she gonna have to take this her entire life because I know insomnia can be a chronic sleep issue for life.
Avatar f tn I've been on ambien for over a year and just started taking percocets for a knee injury about 3 months ago. i've just tryed to go cold turkey off these drugs just because I know its not healthy. I keep seeking spiritual advice but is there something else that can be done and is it normal to feel so awful.( diahrea, hot and cold flashes, crying uncontrollably, restless legs, and insomnia of course? How long does these awful symptoms normally last?
492921 tn?1321289896 I do not respond to generic Ambien the same as the brand Ambien. I would recommend trying the brand, if you can afford it. It can make all of the difference. I am so, so sorry to hear about your miscarriage and your post traumatic stress. Sleep will be very important in your recovery, so I hope that you can get this resolved. I would not recommend using xanax for sleep, however. What dosage are you taking?
