Ambien dosage by weight

Common Questions and Answers about Ambien dosage by weight

ambien

Avatar m tn 5mg (one whole tablet, and 3/4 of another) because I had to increase my dosage several times, and I upped it by 1/4 tablet each time. I didn't quite make it to two tablets before I got to the point where I don't need it, but am basically addicted to it. The condition requiring this is slowly fading, and I would like to eliminate my dependence on Ambien completely. How do I go about doing this? Can I just gradually reduce my dosage until I no longer need it?

491910 tn?1209366193 At any rate, I also remember the very first time I had abused ambien and it was completely by accident... I had awoken especially early one morning, but decided it was too early and took another ambien to get back to sleep. Shortly there after, my boss told me to gear up and that I had a mission in 30 minutes... To my surprise, I felt great during my mission, I was able to function at full capacity, while remaining cool, calm, and collective throughout.

Avatar m tn Yes, there are different dosages for Xanax and ambien. Ambien is a once at night medication, Xanax is usually one pill three times a day as needed. I don't have experience with klonopin or Zoloft, your MD will know.
Avatar f tn UND @ 6 weeks of 24 weeks. Horrible sides ! Anyone know if dosage reduction would be a a possibility? Thank you for your time.
Avatar f tn Oh, and your dosage of klonopin is pretty high. You may need it that high, but just saying. I think you're overmedicated.
Avatar m tn The plan is to take both at betdime and gradually reduce the ambien dosage until I no longer need it at all. The trazodone is supposed to help me sleep when the ambien wears off. He said the trazodone was not addictive and I could easily quit it after the ambien is out of my system. Does anyone have any experience with this and does it sound like a plan that will work? I've only been taking the ambien for three months.
Avatar f tn The highest recommended dosage of regular ambien (not CR) is 10 mg daily at bedtime. That doubling of the dose is a troubling issue since once that runs its course, where do you go from there? I would attempt to begin a tapering down with the cooperation of your doctor otherwise eventually you may have to go to a detox facility. The fact that you aren't taking any other medications (or are you?) should make the tapering a bit easier.
Avatar n tn I started with 0.25 Mg.of Alprozalam (Restyl) in 1991 and now I am taking 1.00 Mg. with this dosage after 18 yrs. I get 5 hour's sleep. I am trying to reduce the dosage by tapering off. I am not successful so far.I am 79. I am deaf since last few yrs and I have failin vision b/o ARMD. I feel tightness in my feet since last 4yrs.No dignosis is arrived at.Can it be because of long term use of alprozalm. I understand it give constipation as well.Any suggestion?
Avatar f tn Everyone has to increase the dosage of lamictal (lamotrigine) slowly starting at 25mg. I have been on as high as 400mg but had to drop back down to 200mg because it is an antiseizure med and I am having ECT and 400mg would interfere with that. I have been on it for years and didn't see any difference in weight with it. Other drugs I am taking are not so weight friendly. I am now exercising and trying to diet but little success. How did you lose your weight?
552011 tn?1239333219 300 mg Doxipin, 12-1800 mg Nurontin and 10 to 20 mg of Ambien, and 1-2 mg of somethinf to relax me. I have 2 questions. 1st, with all this antidepressent medication why am I still walking on the edge of life and death. I have way more dark days than light onesl 2nd. i feel like I am drowning when I take all this medication. I feel like I have fluid on my lungs and I get really short of breath. My breathing and HR increase above nromal.
Avatar f tn I fall asleep for 2 hours a night, then toss and turn for hours, by 4A.M. Im so exhausted and have to get up by 8. I usually give up by 4 and take a half of a Lunesta. At least they dont give me anxiety. But I dont know what else to do. My doctor is a big jerk, never having answers to my quuestions, and doesnt know how to deal with me with all my other pain problems. Ive been going to other pain doctors and they help with the pain,( without opiates) but nobody knows how to deal with no sleep.
Avatar m tn My Dr. has me on 20mg ambien (yes, a high dose). I had a Dr. suggest that I take 10mg when I go to bed, and then another 10mg when I wake up a few hours later. Does anyone have any comments about taking them several hours apart like that versus taking it all at once? The idea is that I would get more sleep, but the risk is that the after effects of it will be more pronounced the next day.
Avatar f tn Thank you so much for your post. I have started decreasing my dosage of Ambien and hopefully that will work soon.
Avatar f tn Has anyone heard that the dosage is based on your weight? My numbers are perfect, according to the doctor, however, I am always tired, have reflux problems that the gastro doesn't understand why, I am constantly having hard stools, not gaining or losing weight, and getting very frustrated. I keep thinking I need my dosage raised but no one will listen to me. Am I thinking the right way or not? Help! Need your advise.
Avatar m tn My Dr increased my dosage of paxil from 25 to 37.5. I have only used the 37.5 for the past three days and I feel tried, muscels ache and feel the my anxiety has increased some. Is this normal or should I ask my Dr to lower my dosage to where it was before. My last visit was on the Friday the 25th and she only prescribed me a (7) 0.50 mil of Xanax and told me to make it last because she was not going to give me anymore.
Avatar m tn I came off the same dosage as you 12 weeks ago, except I also quit the ambien at the same time. I was prescribed the .5 xanax for sleep and took it at night only. Well, eventually I needed 1mg to sleep, and at the same time I was experiencing rebound nausea, anxiety and all sorts or weird feelings during the day, due to the short half life of xanax. The ambien had also stopped helping me sleep after several months of usage on and off.
Avatar n tn t further adjusted by weight, but by lab vales and, most of all, symptoms. Or I should say, it should be adjusted by FT3, FT4 levals and symptoms.
Avatar f tn After 10 years of being heavily dosed by multiple medications (too many to recount) for multiple reasons, I recently began the extremely lengthy process of getting off each medication, one by one. I've been through a lot in my life, but going through these withdrawals has been the toughest thing I have ever had to go through. I thought I knew, but I really had no idea.
Avatar m tn I have been on, seroquel, lunesta, trazadone, sonata and ambien by itself. The one thing that finally worked is 10mg of ambien and 30mg of temazepam. However in addition I take topamax and vistaril. But the ambien/restoril concoction works better than anything for me I am also 6 foot 4 and 210 pounds so mg may change as well as how meds react to everyones body/genetics.
1737879 tn?1386202314 I am taking 10mg of Ambien at night and have been taking it for about 3 months now because I have not been sleeping. I am wanting to stop taking it. I tried a few nights to stop but never could fall asleep. how would I be able to stop taking it? I do not abuse it and only take it as directed I just don't want to rely on anything. I started taking it due to other health issues I have one being ovarian cancer.
