ambien

Avatar f tn I started taking Ambien & Prozac in Oct 2009. I started building a resistance so my doctor prescribed for me Restoril, that didn't work so she started me on Lunesta. After I started building a resistance to the Lunesta my doctor prescribed for me Ambien CR 12.5mg. It's now March 2010 and I need 4 or more Ambien CR to sleep. I can't sleep without it!!! I haven't taken the CR 12.5mg in 24hr and I have the common addiction symptoms.
Avatar n tn Ambien CR does come in 12.5 mg -- I have some. the regular ambien does not, but ambien CR does. just clarification.
Avatar f tn I have non-alcoholic cirrhosis which is just waiting for the transplant stage even though it could be many years off. It was discovered that I was suffering from major depression due to a grief issue. The liver diagnosis come on very quickly and my grief was apparently put on the back burner. They call it delayed grief syndrome. I have a wonderful therapist and psyche. Of course the psyche manages my drugs in conjunction with my liver doc..
Avatar m tn i have been on clonazepam for many months and ambien cr i am having problems with thinking straight, and i believe it is the clonazepam not the ambien cr.
763205 tn?1234422576 I have been taking Ambien/Ambien CR for several years now. I switched from the regular Ambien when the Ambien CR became available. Two nights ago I took my nightly migraine medications and my Ambien CR. I remember being awake for about 45 mins after that and then I remember nothing. Some how I was unconscience when I took 8 more Ambien CR 12.5 mg. I remember nothing after that. I went on a wild rampage in my room and destroyed everything in sight and I do mean everything.
Avatar m tn I can tell you from experience, both Ambien and Ambien CR are notorious for causing odd behavior. I had to quit taking Ambien CR after it stated causing anxiety and pacin attack issues. Regular Ambien caused my husband to rise an hour after going to sleep and go down to our garage and work on his bike until 3:30 AM, when I realized he wasn't in bed and found him downstairs asleep.
Avatar n tn I believe most of the problems he is suffering from are side effects of the restoril. His doctor switched him to ambien cr without warning of withdrawal side effects...after a suicide attempt. I thought he was going to go crazy...jerking; crying out; standing still clutching his chest with look of horror on his face. This went on all day long. We thought it was the change to ambien (only drug being used and only change).
Avatar m tn I'm no doctor, so I definitely can't give you any medical information on Ambien, but I can relay my personal experience with it. I've been on Ambien (currently 10mg) for SEVERAL years now (5 or more). I have many chronic pain conditions, including fibroymalgia. One of the major symptoms of fibro is insomnia - which I definitely suffer from!
Avatar m tn Ambien CR costs $200 versus $6 for the regular stuff. We did talk about it, and I wanted it, but at $200 a month it just ain't gonna happen. So I'm sticking with the Ambien for now. I don't really want to take higher dosages of temazepam. And like you say, getting off of ambien isn't that difficult, just a bit time consuming as you ramp down the dosage.
783281 tn?1259691431 Look at all the posts of the shear terror, blackouts and horror Ambien and Ambien CR facilitate. I would bet that your EXTREMELY rare comment gave many struggling addicts an excuse to take more drugs. Look what happens to your sleep pattern after you take those for a couple weeks. Please, re-consider your advice, you may have directed someone down a road other than abstinece. Recovery is not about managing drugs, it is about managing your life without drugs.
739988 tn?1386672969 I feel for you, my doctor give me Zolpidem 10mg which is the generic for Ambien. There is also an Ambien CR. If you get it read the warnings carefully as its a very contravercial medicine. No not take at all if you are prone to sleepwalking! Safety first. I hope you get some much needed sleep. Sweet dreams.
1201433 tn?1328997637 The insomnia is one of the worse side effects, seems to exacerbate all other side effects. Are you taking Incivek? If so, it reduces efficacy of Ambien by about 50%. My husband, who is very sensitive to Ambien, and took an occasiona 2.5 mg to sleep, had to up his dosage to 10mg during the INC portion of his treatment (upon doctor's advice, of course) Now he's down to about 5 mg. which works fine.
Avatar n tn I take them both and i sleep like a baby...one that sleeps thru the night. I used to be on just ambien and the side effects were crazy and funny...like when the carpet started bubbling it was time to go to bed...lol...but if we i dont take them i wont sleep at all...so its either small side effects or cranky crazy person...ill take bubbling carpet anyday!
1102799 tn?1269237714 Ambien generally gave me a buzz when I took it at night, I would feel euphoric (but no sleepwalking) - I do not have this side effect with Ambien CR. I guess one needs to be careful with all of these sleeping pills!
Avatar n tn my family doctor had prescribed Ambien CR 6.25mg pills last month and they did absolutely nothing. I am really getting worried about alot of things lately, sorta depressed i guess, because some weeks i only get 1-3hrs of rest(not sleep). i have a job that i like, but its very phisicaly demanding and ive been making alot of stupid mistakes lately due to not getting sleep; cann't consintrait, horrible mood swings, head aches, back and knee pains, and sometimes stomach pain.
Avatar n tn Treatment with Ambien may cause side effects like impairment of thinking or reactions. You may still feel sleepy the morning after taking the medication. In patients with liver disorder, a smaller dose of Ambien is generally prescribed. Ambien addiction is a serious problem requiring treatment. The signs of ambien withdrawal are insomnia, fatigue, sweating, stomach cramps, and panic attacks.
Avatar n tn My husband has been on Ambien CR for 9 months. His sleep doctor prescribed this for sleep apnea. Is this really safe? He is supposed to use his CPAP machine along with the meds., but he has not used the machine in months. Is this really good, safe intelligent treatment for sleep apnea?
Avatar n tn This is the only drug that has worked to control my a-fib. I like it, but in high doses, I had lots of side effects like constipation, urinary retention, low blood pressure, low blood sugar and sinus tachycardia. The lower dose has worked pretty well and I do not have as many side effects. I have heard that it controls PVC's very well in some people. I think the reason it works for me is because it controls vagally-mediated a-fib.
Avatar n tn I took Ambien (still do) and while it didn't give me a full nights sleep an hour after I took it I could put my head on the pillow and zonk right out (and I was on TONS of ribavirin my serum level was extremely high). I seemed like most people to wake up after about 4 hours (even on the CR Ambien time release) but I could fall back asleep again. And again. And again. So I got some sleep. It did help.
Avatar m tn What are the side effects of the Ambien? I will have to ask the doctor about ambien. Thanks! Hubby is getting a rash on his chest and requires some cream for that too!
Avatar f tn It seems that every time I stop taking ambien for a few days and I'm feeling side effects. When I wake up my head is killing me, my kidneys are killing me, and I can't stop sudden movement. I have tried to stop several times though my doctors and with therapy but its like nothing works. I try to stick with it but if I have to deal with worst side effects. I can't believe I've been in this mess since '09 and I'm taking too many to even my prescriptions out.
Avatar n tn Hi. The lexapro didn't work for my anxiety, but did help with depression. I was only on it a short time. Have been on trazadone for many years. It helps with falling asleep (not with staying asleep though). Didn't have a problem getting off the lexapro. Tried once to get off the trazadone and the only problem was insomnia. I've tried both Ambien and Ambien CR and neither one work at all for me - trazadone works better than ambien for me.
Avatar n tn I have a terrible sleep disorder and have tried numerous products to sleep @ night ie: Lunesta, Ambien, Ambien CR, Remeron, etc. The best thing I have found, and it's non addictive/no side effects , to take a benedryl 1/2 hr before I go to bed. Make sure to get at least 6-8 hours of sleep.
