The ONLY sleeping pill that worked for me was Ambien CR. However... the next day I felt like I was drunk with a hangover... Not for me... The doctor has prescribed Medical Marijuana. Haven't smoked it since college days, but for me, it beats any sleeping pill and most likely safer. I use a vaporizer instead of rolling it or smoking it in a pipe. This cuts down dramatically on carcinogens. There will be pros and cons forever and ever, amen about this subject, but for me, it was miraculous.

Then, 30 minutes before actually going to bed I give him Ambien CR. The regular Ambien was not working at all. Ambien CR on the other hand seems to calm him down and there has been less action. I also placed a body pillow between us and that seems to curtail some of the aggressiveness. It gives him less space to move around and I feel safer. Yes, he speaks while he is asleep, (more of gurgutal sound than words) but it has come down a bit.

How many pills did you take after going back and counting the tablets? It's not uncommon for people who take ambien or Ambien Cr to not remember doing something. They fall asleep and don't know they're sleeping, so the end up taking more pills because they don't remember taking the 1st one and the cycle keeps on going. I've heard horror stories of people racking up credit cards, diving and cooking while on Ambien.

I started taking Alprazolem for anxiety 15 years ago. Since then I only take .5mg at night to help me relax and fall asleep. I now find the the 1 pill at night is not helping me sleep. So I started taking Ambien CR and stopped taking the Alprazolem. I'm sleeping great, but feel terrible in the morning. I feel nausea and tingling numbnest in my arm and face. Do you think its from the Ambien or from me stopping the alprazolem. Any advice?

Ambien will help you get some sleep so yes I would say it is good. I worked for a Dr. before and the highest dose I saw given was a total of 12mg. So if the tab was 6mg then the patient could take 2. Taking 2 10mg of ambien seems a little high to me.Maybe someone else could answer better than me. I am one of those people that ambien doesn't work. I can tell you from experience, both Ambien and Ambien CR are notorious for causing odd behavior. I had to quit taking Ambien CR after it stated causing anxiety and pacin attack issues. I would bet that your EXTREMELY rare comment gave many struggling addicts an excuse to take more drugs. Look what happens to your sleep pattern after you take those for a couple weeks. I have been taking 5mg of generic ambien for about 5 yrs. I take a pill every night. If not I am worthless during the day from lack of sleep. I know that this is discouraged but since I have to work, I have no choice.

If you use it to help with withdrawals such as insomnia, that's what it sounds like you asking, you're only substituting another drug in place of the other(s) . Then again, it's probably worked as a 'bridge' for some people to make the withdrawal easier. But as mentioned above, it is addicting and often just prolongs the process more.

t have a script for the alprazolam, I did get the Ambien CR. It took two to do it, but I slept the whole night after that until the 4:30 hubby's alarm went off. I was able to go back to it off and on afterward too! Who knows, maybe sanity will return now. I'm gonna try to get the alprazolam too, the pharmacist told my husband he was gonna call the doc to see about it for me since they told me they had called it in. Ain't it great?

m not telling you anything else about that. I did change to the Ambien CR and like Nygirl7 says above, I wake up a few times during the night, but go back to sleep... and I don't sleep walk or eat... I think it is because you are only getting a little medicine in your system at a time instead of all at once like regular Ambien As was mentioned above, I have had horrible sleep patterns for years before ever finding out about hep c, and tried all kinds of stuff, and I like the Ambien CR best.

Good luck, I've never been much of a good sleeper but if it gets that bad I would seek out a sleep clinic doctor place - he could have sleep apnea or something that is compounding the situation.
