Ambien CR does come in 12.5 mg -- I have some. the regular ambien does not, but ambien CR does. just clarification.

I have been taking Ambien/Ambien CR for several years now. I switched from the regular Ambien when the Ambien CR became available. Two nights ago I took my nightly migraine medications and my Ambien CR. I remember being awake for about 45 mins after that and then I remember nothing. Some how I was unconscience when I took 8 more Ambien CR 12.5 mg. I remember nothing after that. I went on a wild rampage in my room and destroyed everything in sight and I do mean everything.

Good luck, I've never been much of a good sleeper but if it gets that bad I would seek out a sleep clinic doctor place - he could have sleep apnea or something that is compounding the situation.

It seems that every time I stop taking ambien for a few days and I'm feeling side effects. When I wake up my head is killing me, my kidneys are killing me, and I can't stop sudden movement. I have tried to stop several times though my doctors and with therapy but its like nothing works. I try to stick with it but if I have to deal with worst side effects. i am 18 years old, 5'6'', 123 lbs, and i am in the habit of taking 4-5 12.5 mg ambien cr a night. even when i take four, i don't really feel anything, so i take around 5 benadryl capsules to get at least drowsy. i'm also taking 100mg of zoloft, and 300 mg of welbutrin for my depression and anxiety. i don't know what to do. about a week and a half ago i went two days without it, and then i just couldn't handle it.

a few years ago. Ambien CR has to be tapered with some regular ambien that you can adjust the dose on. The CR doesn't need to be halved or broken. The doc can help you with that. I agree with what vicki said too. You have to decide, do it and then find something else to help the pain. It takes a strong resolve no matter how you decide to do it. Having your mom help will be a great way to do the taper. Save the ambien for last.

I would definitely talk to your OB about the Ambien to determine if it is safe for you to continue taking. I know my cousin did have Ambien for a couple of nights when she was pregnant - however, she was in labor already, having a tough time of it and hadn't slept in a few nights, so her situation could be very different from yours since you are not as far along in your pregnancy as she was.

hey jacqui i got some ambien cr 12.5 from my doctor yetserday... i havent been sleeping at all anymore.. part of it is my late training, my metabolism doesnt gear down till after midnight, and part of it is all the stuff i have on my mind.. and maybe even part of it is being clean for a few weeks now, i dont know... all i know is i FINALLY got a full night sleep last night from this ambien pill.. i took one pill @ 9:07pm and by 10pm i was out like a friggin light..

i think ambien CR has 12.5 over hours - I think more addicted to that 12 min high I get from it .

I started taking Ambien & Prozac in Oct 2009. I started building a resistance so my doctor prescribed for me Restoril, that didn't work so she started me on Lunesta. After I started building a resistance to the Lunesta my doctor prescribed for me Ambien CR 12.5mg. It's now March 2010 and I need 4 or more Ambien CR to sleep. I can't sleep without it!!! I haven't taken the CR 12.5mg in 24hr and I have the common addiction symptoms.

Then a visit to my PCP for the Orthostatic Hypotension and he told me to go off those two drugs and gave me a script of 3 days with 1 refill of Ambien CR to see how I would react to that. After the 3 nights I started sleeping 18 to 20 hours of a 24 hr. period plus felt completely out of it. A call back to him and he said he just didn't know why I was doing that and suggested I should talk to my psyche about it which he was supposed to have done.

Fairly soon my Ob-gyn switched me to Ambien CR 12 mg and this worked quite well (1/2 at night and 1/2 in the middle of the night) - I definitively prefer Ambien CR to regular Ambien. PS: be careful if you try to switch to Lunesta, a friend of mine did that and he started to sleepwalk!!

How many pills did you take after going back and counting the tablets? It's not uncommon for people who take ambien or Ambien Cr to not remember doing something. They fall asleep and don't know they're sleeping, so the end up taking more pills because they don't remember taking the 1st one and the cycle keeps on going. I've heard horror stories of people racking up credit cards, diving and cooking while on Ambien.

i have been on clonazepam for many months and ambien cr i am having problems with thinking straight, and i believe it is the clonazepam not the ambien cr.

If you use it to help with withdrawals such as insomnia, that's what it sounds like you asking, you're only substituting another drug in place of the other(s) . Then again, it's probably worked as a 'bridge' for some people to make the withdrawal easier. But as mentioned above, it is addicting and often just prolongs the process more.

I started taking Alprazolem for anxiety 15 years ago. Since then I only take .5mg at night to help me relax and fall asleep. I now find the the 1 pill at night is not helping me sleep. So I started taking Ambien CR and stopped taking the Alprazolem. I'm sleeping great, but feel terrible in the morning. I feel nausea and tingling numbnest in my arm and face. Do you think its from the Ambien or from me stopping the alprazolem. Any advice?

Then, 30 minutes before actually going to bed I give him Ambien CR. The regular Ambien was not working at all. Ambien CR on the other hand seems to calm him down and there has been less action. I also placed a body pillow between us and that seems to curtail some of the aggressiveness. It gives him less space to move around and I feel safer. Yes, he speaks while he is asleep, (more of gurgutal sound than words) but it has come down a bit.

Hey, regular ambien effects last right around 4 hr. max and ambien cr which is controlled release is 8 hrs..the ambien, chemical name is Zolpidem, which is considered a "z" class sedative/hypnotic and is pretty potent can cause all the side effects- the memory loss, problems concentrating and especially daytime drowsiness is definitely a common problem...the usual starting dose for ambien is typically 5 mgs to 10mgs for either wd'ing detoxing and usually is prescribed for insomnia.

My husband has been on Ambien CR for 9 months. His sleep doctor prescribed this for sleep apnea. Is this really safe? He is supposed to use his CPAP machine along with the meds., but he has not used the machine in months. Is this really good, safe intelligent treatment for sleep apnea?

I was on paxil 20mg originally then stopped cold turkey and went back on at Paxil CR 12.5. Upped dose over time to Paxil CR 25mg. Recently that didn't work so I tried switching to Lexapro to try out a different drug (which didn't work) so I am back to paxil. Started Paxil CR 12.5 3 weeks ago and have increased each week by 12.5 to where I am currently at now on Paxil CR 37.5. Should the dose increase work? Has anybody had success with this?

m taking the Ambien CR and THANK GOD FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!! I tried regular Ambien and had 2 nights in one week that I only got 2 hours of sleep... which didn't help with the depression or Riba Rage. I still wake up often, but am able to go back to sleep now. I have no problem with feeling bad the next day. I'm on Effexor for the depression. My feelings about the sx: Right now the most important thing is to kill this dragon... whatever it takes.

Look at all the posts of the shear terror, blackouts and horror Ambien and Ambien CR facilitate. I would bet that your EXTREMELY rare comment gave many struggling addicts an excuse to take more drugs. Look what happens to your sleep pattern after you take those for a couple weeks. Please, re-consider your advice, you may have directed someone down a road other than abstinece. Recovery is not about managing drugs, it is about managing your life without drugs.

ago, dx toxic enchaphilits, by er neuro, because of mix of low dose naltrexone (autoimmune) and ambien (12.5 cr) my home neruo thought maybe TIA, and another neuro thought hasmimotos encehlalitis. i discontinued the ldn. anyway, my mom has temporal arteritis, ( dx lsate and shortly after permanet blindess in one eye) my ent said i would likely too. my sed rate is normal, at last check 6 months ago. my face and eyes are very puffy at night, too.

does anyone think that ambien cr will help with sleep while going through withdrawls???
