ambien and wellbutrin

I am on the insulin pump. I am also taking Wellbutrin and Ambien. My pump had a motor error yesterday and consulted my dr. who advised me to manually bolus with pump. 911 was called by my husband at 2:30 I was bouncing in the bed and he gave me o.j and sugar. He said I bit the cup. Once EMS was there they gave me a tube of glucose and checked my sugar which was 53. Could this have been caused by me taking wellbutrin and ambien?

I have taken ambien off and on as needed and have had no problems but you shouldnt have to take ambien if you have the klonopin because that in itself often causes drowsiness so it shoulld help you sleep. So to sum up. Take KLONOPIN as prescribed and your wellbutrin as prescribed. Do not take xanax or ambien that is overmedicating and overkill.

Dr prescribed ambien for wellbutrin sleepless nights.... I also take a benzo. Is it safe? I think not. I've never taken ambien before. ? Anyone?

I was on Lamictal and Wellbutrin at that time. I stopped the Lamictal abruptly (I know, big no no) and started taking Wellbutrin right after. On the fourth day of taking the Wellbutrin, I started experienced violent jerking movements as I was trying to fall asleep. I didn’t sleep at all for three nights. Finally I went to the pcp and she prescribed Restoril for the time being. That helped, but I was afraid since it’s an addictive drug, so after about four weeks, I weaned myself off.

Yes, I had been on various different anti-depressants (Paxil, Zoloft, Wellbutrin) at different times in my early 20's to mid-20's as a result of "situational depression" (I was in a Domestic Violence marriage at the time.) The Effexor and then later, Wellbutrin (along w/ Ambien) was Rx'd after a BAAaaaaaad reaction to Prednisone.

i realize that you are not my doctor, but right now i have no one else to turn to (mine comes back the 25th and have appt) and you may be able to provide guidelines re getting off wellbutrin.

Hi and welcome to the forum! Wellbutrin is an atypical AD and with them it's very personal, it really depends from one person to another. Give it the time to kick in tho, it takes a minimum of 2 weeks. Best of luck to you. sophie.

Xanax is not a sleep aid. Get some Ambien!!! Sleep is very importsnt during tx, please call your doc and get some Ambien.

Yuck! So, I am doing awsome on Wellbutrin and Lithium and have not gone manic, but I am not sleeping at all! So, I thought adding a low dose of Risperdal is a good move? I was prescribed 1mg but after reading the horrible stories about the side effects such as lactation, weight gain and zombie head I split my tablets in half. Not perfect halves but close enough. I read more people had less side effects on .5mg. So opinions please??

I have previously used Wellbutrin and discontinued it due to anxiety and sleeplessness. It was useful in terms of having more energy, and while on it I would literally pop out of bed as if kicked. I'm thinking that at a lower dose I might get some of the energy without needing to pile on more drugs to deal with Wellbutrin's side effects. My goal is to get off of these things entirely as they have all had evil side effects.

My recomendation is to be tested for Free T3, Free T4 and antibodies also. Last year I also started with medications like yours and my TSH was at 6.22. I was retested six months later and all are well.

it will get better and you will eventually get to sleep.just please be cautious with both the Ambien and xanax..keep posting.. we are all here for you..and congratulations for taking your life back..

I took Wellbutrin last year and I got an itchy rash all over my body. And the weirdest thing of all was the rash was completely covering the palms of my hands. I mean covering them. I was so sick and miserable I thought I'd die. At least my doc thinks it was the Wellburtin. I also started Ambien the same night as the Wellbutrin. So who knows for sure. But I'm not allowed either drug again. As the doc wasn't sure which drug caused the reaction.

I was on trazodone for sleep 400mgs along with other meds. My Psychiatrist, who is new to the pic", prescribed Ambien, the lowest dosage. He disc'd my Trazodone and Wellbutrin, my only two antidepressants and started me on Cymbalta. I am Bipolar with Major depression. For a week I was fine. I awoke on a Sat. morning with exceptionally fast and annoying hand tremors in my left hand. The tremors are not new but were under control.

ve been diagnosed with or if that diagnosis is correct, but it will be a different thing if you have ADD and depression and anxiety and insomnia, though with what you're taking it's common to have some trouble relaxing and sleeping even if you didn't have anxiety when you started.

I have been having issues sleeping since January and finally resorted to benzos and ambien which defeats my sobriety but going months without sleeping really puts me in a dark place and its hard to move on with my life when I literally consider ending it at times. My doc put me on 20mg of lexapro and I do feel a tad bit calmer but everyday I wake up I don't want to get out of bed.

I think the ambien started to become a problem this summer, when I would take it on days that were particularly bad and I was anxious.

but, at least from my view on the bleachers....it seems like you are going on.. and then off the Ambien.... as well as going on... and off the Amitryptiline. They both can aide with sleep.....but you will have rebound affects from stopping and starting the Ambien. And your blood levels don't ever reach an "even" dose of the Ami if you don't CONSISTENTLY take it. It builds.....and then it becomes affective.

I am on wellbutrin,klonopin,depakote, invega and ambien. I stopped invega due to pdoc but see him on monday. Nerves get out of control for me a lot of the time like daily. I get at the worst on the weekends when everything is winding down from my week that is stressfull. just don't think its the meds doing it to me. and why should I be differnt than I have been before I lose it and yell alot but that is me.

I might be needing something like 160 mg of Vyvanse. I am also on Wellbutrin and Ketamine now for depression. I take Ambien and Lorazepam to fall asleep. I know there is a link between the stimulants that I take during the day and the sleep aid pills at night. I wish I could stop the Lorazepam 4mg because it is useless most of the time , and it is making me depressed. I am on 20 mg of Ambien. I know I am on high doses of meds. I am trying to decrease them and get to better more stable state.

I was able to handle my symptoms without oxycodone using hot baths and some other tricks to get to sleep . I also suffer from moderate depression and use Wellbutrin to help keep that in check. Wellbutrin is one of the few antidepressants that is RLS friendly. A long about mid December 2012 I found hot baths were not working quite as well so stupid me I started taking 5 to 7.5 mg of oxycodone which did help me get to sleep by relieving the symptoms, again only taking the drug at night.

I take wellbutrin, which I've read may help RLS. I went off for awhile and the RLS definately got worse. Started wellbutrin again yesterday and am hoping it helps. So far so good.

I was so good for a while on my lexapro and wellbutrin...happily skipping through life. This past week has been really rough on my boyfriend and me (long story), and I find myself extremely down. I can't stop crying, and I wont' be able to sleep tonight. I even cut myself in the shower before to see if it would make me feel better. well, it was failure because a)I don't feel better and b)I did a really sloppy job cutting lol.

I have taken Zanax for anxiety and Ambien for insomnia for 10 years. I'm 35, so the Dr. started me when I was young. I have been having back pain for the last few minths and the Dr. prescribed me vicodin. That didn't work so I ASKED HIM what else I could do such as Chiropracter, that didn't help. So I've taken the vicodin for 4 months, 2 x's a day 500mg, then this month he had to increase it to 3x's a day 500 mg.
