290532 tn?1308136770 I'm on Day three of a quick taper off Tramadol with the help of my Phsyc. She gave me Pristq for depression, etc...., chlonodin, and klonopin and Ambien CR for sleep. I'm getting through the days fairly well, just SUPER groggy which I'm thinking will subside as I continue and only plan on using the chlonodin, klonopin and ambien through like 10-20 days of withdrawal symptoms.
539990 tn?1219474755 short term as prescribed is normally ok...valerian root and melatonin are natural sllep aids...phenergan is a non habit forming med that helps with sleep and anxiety...it is for nausea as well..talk to ur doctor..
Avatar f tn My first pregnancy (in which I ended up miscarrying) my doctor tried me on phenergan and 2 other kinds of nausea pills. I honestly didn't like the way phenergan made me feel, all it did was put me to sleep and then when I woke up id be sick as a dog again. But with this pregnancy (I'm 33w+4d), for the first 5 months I couldn't eat or drink anything without it coming back up and I actually lost weight.
4601190 tn?1357338863 My dr prescribed it to me too being dizzy and light headed are some side affects of it and itll sometimes knock me out for an hour or so
Avatar f tn 2 days in and I have begun getting nausea so bad I end up vomiting. I am worried I am hurting my dosage of medication. I have Phenergan and I am not sure exactly when to take it, when I eat the 20 mg. of fat or right before the meds. Many help is appreciated.
Avatar f tn It worked miracles for me and I had severe all day/night sickness for the first 5 months. He tried me on phenergan with my first pregnancy but I didn't like it cuz of the way it made me feel. All it did was put me to sleep, then when I woke up I just felt drunk and groggy and was still sick as a dog. I loved zofran though, I wouldn't have been able to eat at all or even drink if I hadn't of had it.
Avatar n tn Nausea and some cramping of stomach/esophagus continued to this day. I was given Ambien for sleep and discovered that 5mg of Ambien is the only thing that takes away the nausea. I have tried Phenergan, Zofram, Librax and Ativan.....all to no avail. My doctor says he has now idea why Ambien works. I do not have a history of any dependence. I have never smoked, drank alcohol. or used pain medication other than Tylenol.
662972 tn?1270166301 I am on methadone and took a phenergan pill and next thing i know im in hospital being revived. I take 80 mg of methadone everyday. I had been sick for a few days and had some phenergan from last sickness. After going to clinic to get my dose, i came home. I took phenergan pill, turned on tv and thats all i remember. Apparently they used Narcan to wake me up. They said i was breathing 3 times a minute and was gray in color. So, to answer ur question, do not take it. Everyone is different.
1017452 tn?1254904998 My hubby's 35 days clean off methadone and isn't sleeping. His doctor prescribes him Zopiclone on a weekly script but he's going through it in a few days. He takes 2 and that'll give him about an hour and a half sleep then he takes another 2 and sometimes another 1 before morning. He's got a demanding job and people keep saying to him...gosh you look terrible...have you not slept?

1747881 tn?1546175878 Promethazine also prevents motion sickness, and treats nausea and vomiting or pain after surgery. It is also used as a sedative or sleep aid.
Avatar f tn Im nauseous now but need to cook dinner so Im debating on what to do cuz the smell of meat is going to make it worst.
Avatar n tn Ambien will help you get some sleep so yes I would say it is good. I worked for a Dr. before and the highest dose I saw given was a total of 12mg. So if the tab was 6mg then the patient could take 2. Taking 2 10mg of ambien seems a little high to me.Maybe someone else could answer better than me. I am one of those people that ambien doesn't work. I have tried Ambien cr, Lunesta (sp?) and regular Ambien and still couldn't get any sleep.
Avatar n tn Nausea is a part of pregnancy. I had a miscarriage 4yrs ago & am now 28wks. I took it as a good sign because I didn't have any other symptoms during my first trimester. Ginger is suppose to help, but maybe talk to your doctor. Mine recommended unisom+b6 which I took at night (makes you drowsy). They also recommended diclegis (specifically for pregos, but my body didn't react well to it). Other options are zofran & phenergan.
Avatar n tn I have been on Phenergan a couple of times and so have my children. And it does make you sleep. It is also given as a sedative as well as for vomiting. My children were given Phenergan-D. Phenergan with codeine to relieve nasal congestion w/ allergy-related coughs. And sweetie if you ever think your gut is telling you something may be wrong, stop giving her the med and call you doctor or go to the closest ER. Good luck and keep us informed.
Avatar f tn Have taken two at bedtime, along with Lunesta and sometime phenergan for nausea. I never take anything during the day. Have been tapering off for four days. The worst time has been at night....really restless and cannot sleep. I have been having lots of dreams....which I cannot remember the last time I remember ever dreaming...is this related to tapering off hydrocodone? These four days have been difficult; however am wondering if the worse is yet to come?
541465 tn?1219427886 I would try, try, try to stop taking the phenergan definitely and really work on only taking the klonopin for anxiety attacks and not just for the high. The clonidine will help you get away from methadone if you wanted to try that or get away from the klonopin. You shouldn't be taking all these together though, it can be very dangerous. Again, there are more people that will be on here soon to answer. Hang in there girl...
Avatar n tn not habit forming...time is the main thing tho.....some AD lhelp with anxiety and sleep...
Avatar m tn I'm no doctor, so I definitely can't give you any medical information on Ambien, but I can relay my personal experience with it. I've been on Ambien (currently 10mg) for SEVERAL years now (5 or more). I have many chronic pain conditions, including fibroymalgia. One of the major symptoms of fibro is insomnia - which I definitely suffer from!
1568041 tn?1311615212 Does she think it's an issue? Personally,I think Ambien is a dangerous drug to be taking all the time. But,if she can't sleep and hasn't increased her dose for a year, then this is her lifestyle. I don't agree with it either but I know insomnia can be just horrible. There are other things she can take. If she wants to try it, suggest Melatonin and Valerian root. It's safe and it works for a lot of people. However, anyone on SSRI's should avoid Melatonin.
Avatar m tn Ambien Cr. I've been off Methadone for two months now and still can't sleep. Actually I now fall asleep about 6am and wake up about 2pm. Totally screwed up. I plan on getting back on it. Its the best night sleep ever and it will knock you out for the night time withdrawals. It gets better, hang in there.
Avatar f tn Hello mom and welcome. Heroin and ambien are both central nervous system depressants. Taken together it is very dangerous as they both depress the respiratory and central nervous system. How old is your son? Does he live with you? How long has he been Abusing drugs for?
Avatar f tn At least 6-7 years at a pop and can stop it with very mild consequences. Some lack of sleep and maybe some headaches and neck/back pain but really nothing. Try OTC Advil pm or something maybe.
356518 tn?1322263642 Demerol for the pain and Wyeth’s drug Phenergan for nausea. “Nothing wrong with either drug,” Ms. Levine said. “They’re both safe when given the right way.” But if Phenergan is exposed to arterial blood, it causes swift and irreversible gangrene. For that reason, it is typically administered by intramuscular injection. According to Ms. Levine’s lawyers, using an intravenous drip is almost entirely safe as well. This time, though, a physician’s assistant used a third method.
