ambien

1687929 tn?1319426011 I also take xanax so what I do is take my xanax an hour or so before going to bed and take the ambien when I go and lay down. When I was prescribed ambien I tried taking it while still being up and it didn't help me at all. Taking it right when I go to bed seems to help. I sleep a little longer and heavier. Hope this helps a little bit.
Avatar f tn If I had known that this medicine would have such an adverse effect on me I never would have taken it. My doctor never told me of the possible side effects and prescribed me more. When I had clear side effects, of the Ambien CR, my doctor didn't even know it. I'm not passing the blame to her because I should have paid more attention to what was going into my body. I wish that I had done more research on sleep aids before I thought of taking it.
Avatar n tn Now I am post TX and the insomnia has not yet left, so they prescribed Ambien and Lunesta for me (i grew allergic to something in the benedryl). They are all harmless to liver but the ambien & lunesta do cause dependence so I alternate them: Ambien for a couple nights, then lunesta (which does not work as well for me) for one night. The 'dependence' is not a big deal; just means you'll have a several very sleepless nights after you quit them.
Avatar n tn The doctor gave me Metronidazole pills to take to treat Trich and should told me i couldnt have any alcohol 3 days before and after takin the pills including the alcohol in mouthwash bc it was cause a bad stomach ache. i was also wondering if this included my toothpaste which has mouthwash beads? Or is regular toothpaste better or not good either?
Avatar n tn I have told people over and over about my experiences with ambien (sleep driving, sleep eating, and hair loss). It made me lose all grips on reality. It also destroyed me physicall and mentally. I wished I would have never heard of the c r a p. I have been clean from it for 6 months and I hope I never experience anything like it again. It was my fault because I wasn't taking it as prescribed. Whatever you do, only take one at bedtime.
Avatar m tn 10 mg of ambien and 100 mg of serequel works great for me. Is there any problem with this combination.
Avatar f tn That is a very interesting affect you are mentioning of ambien. Ambien binds to a receptor called BZ1 and generally causes slower firing of nerves which is why it is used for sleep. It's giving you memory loss because it's action is very similar to alcohol. I might be able to suggest a few things, but first I need to know what you have been diagnosed with. Do you have depression, bipolar disorder, or what?
Avatar f tn I quit drinking alcohol over 2 years ago. I started on an antidepressant, Citalopram 20mg daily, and Ambien 5 mg. daily. I started in college and I am having some of the best times (I'm 54). I have been very successful, Presidential HOnor roll, difficult classes, etc. I have been on these pills for almost 2 years. The citalopram has a disclosure that it can cause sleepiness. My older brother said when he took Ambien it made him lose his memory. I am starting to struggle with forgetfulness.
Avatar m tn I'm no doctor, so I definitely can't give you any medical information on Ambien, but I can relay my personal experience with it. I've been on Ambien (currently 10mg) for SEVERAL years now (5 or more). I have many chronic pain conditions, including fibroymalgia. One of the major symptoms of fibro is insomnia - which I definitely suffer from!
1246883 tn?1285547973 I immediately started to gain weight. And stopped the Seroquel immediately (mid Dec). I know this is one of the side effects. I gained about 5lbs. Being 5'9" and weighing 135, I felt the 5 extra pounds would come off with eating better and a few more yoga classes . But the weight kept coming. I got down to a dietary intake of about 1000 cals. But that mad no difference.
Avatar n tn I would think it was the Ambien alone causing the problems, but anything is possible. Ambien has a lot of possible side effects. I've taken melatonin without problem, but it is illegal in Europe.
2030686 tn?1351688548 I started double therapy yesterday and I just wanna make sure my sides are normal.. I had the chills from time to time, but I was hot more. What I'm concerned about is my legs and hips hurt so bad I could barely walk. I 'm on a high dose of vicodin and it didn't seem to touch this pain. I had a small amount of chest pain on the left side, but it was mild pain and didn't last long. I took a hot bath for my legs and it helped for a little while, but the pain came back.
Avatar f tn I know for some people who take ambien, one of the possible side effects is sleep walking, driving, eating, etc...with no memory of the event. Plus if she is drinking on top of that, I really don't see how any good could come of that combination. I hope she is okay...keep us posted!
Avatar f tn Depends on everyone. My mom took it. She hallucinated, sleep walked and sleep drove. My husband took it. He rambled and talked all night and didn't remember a bit of it the next day, but he was tired all day. I took it a long time ago and I didn't care for it. It made me feel stoned and sick and also tired the next day. I'd probably try benadryl instead. That stuff knocks me out.
Avatar n tn My daughter is having horrible side effects with her Zolpidem. She is suffering from post tramatic stress and has very real nightmares. It takes several hours for her realize they are dreams. She is sleep/wake having conversations she doesnt remember and and having conversations with us that did not happen, Sleep walking, cleaning.... Is this common and should Ambien be prescribed to teens with PTS?
Avatar f tn the white Zoldepam is 10 mg the ones that you were taking before were probably 5 mg i take the 10 mg and have for about 3 years i have had no side effects are you sure it is the ambien and not some other med i have had 1 perso tell me that they thought it was the ambien that made them sleep walk one night, but i do not know you mught look up side effects for ambien luck jo
Avatar m tn Hi, I am in my 6th week of riba, sovaldi, olysio. My doc said MMJ was fine and an edible for would be preferred. I had not tried it but she didn't say anything about it interfering with the meds in any way. I am very nauseous. Most people point to the riboviron as the culprit and I mostly hear that sovaldi and osysio don't have side effects. I have had, pain, insomnia, headaches and several more. I've tried the MMJ and it helps with nausea an appetite, sleep and pain.
Avatar f tn I'm not sure how long you've been using ambien. I used it for 9 months while on pain management with vicodin. I'm now off of both, but much to my surprise, the vicodin was much easier than the ambien for me to kick. I kicked vicodin cold turkey in February and started an ambien taper mid-march. I just finished with the ambien taper. Ambien can't be stopped suddenly; depending on for how long and how much ambien you've used.
Avatar n tn The other common side effects of Ambien are headache, dizziness, mental clouding, daytime drowsiness and allergies. Hence, it is advised you visit your doctor if you are experiencing any such side effects. The drug is considered safe for a period of two to maximum six weeks for the treatment of insomnia. If taken for a longer duration, one may develop dependence on ambien. You should discuss with your doctor about the risks of taking ambient for 2 weeks or longer.
Avatar n tn Hi Frank, I think I understand what you are asking and saying. At least I hope I do. You cannot use Ambien as a pain medication or an anti-anxiety medication. Ambien and its generic form are designed to help you fall asleep. Ambien CR helps you fall asleep and stay asleep. There is some controversy surrounding it's side effects. There have been some reported nasty side effects such as sleep walking, eating, driving and even a few cases of homicide.
Avatar m tn I would also recommend not taking your daily dose of medication at the same time that you start drinking, because the depressant effects of the alcohol and a few of your medications could cause excess sedation. From what I've gathered, as long as you keep the amount of alcohol consumed low and infrequent you won't be doing an unreasonable amount of harm.
Avatar m tn I understand your reservations about taking an antidepressant for a different purpose, and I would like to present some information to you that might help you understand why your doctor might have chosen this medication for this purpose. Trazodone is under a large umbrella of medications called Psychotropic.
