Amaryl maximum dose

Common Questions and Answers about Amaryl maximum dose

amaryl

Avatar f tn I have had Type 2 diabetes since October 07. I was put on Amaryl then and now am also on Metformin. I have since gained almost 5-8 pounds. Is this normal? I can't find this listed as a side effect in the drug info. I am about 20 pounds overweight and have been trying to lose that to help with the diabetes. I have a healthy diet and try to exercise as much as I can. I also have Crohn's disease (which may have contributed to the onset of diabetes), so heavy exercise is out for me.
Avatar n tn If in fact you are a type 1 diabetic, you should not be taking Amaryl. I would say to find yourself a new doctor if he/she thinks that Amaryl is appropriate for juvenile diabetes. But, perhaps there is something I don't know. Otherwise, just cautiously play with your carbohydrate intake and your insulin dosages. Yes, I agree that a doctor should be consulted about this at first, but eventually you should be running the show.
Avatar m tn Prior to surgery, she was taking Amaryl 1mg tablets once a day. Is this increased BSR levels following a surgery common enough, are there any implications and what should be the desired course of action?
1925135 tn?1323307656 Amaryl should be the solution.Seems you've developed immunity to Starlix.
537843 tn?1213664232 So your TSH was maybe 70 or 80 before you started taking Levoxyl. Were you started on a high dose? How long have you been taking 200mcg? I have been there. I have had my TSH drop 40 points in a week after getting on the right dose of meds. But I went from post RAI no meds straight to 100mcg, which is what my body wanted. Within six weeks my TSH was between 1.0 and 2.0. That's why I said you may need a dosage increase.
Avatar m tn This is a question for your pharmacist as I could not locate "IP". Normally USP is Rx'd. Amaryl [glimepiride] tablets come in various forms and colors. The letters IG [eye gee] is imprinted on three tablets [blue, pink, green] to designate strength.
Avatar f tn The reason she has to have insulin injection is that all other drugs upset her stomuch ( except diamicron MR ) .Doctor has prescribed her with Amaryl ,Glucophage ,Glucobay ,but they upset her stomuch .Although she take it after meal but she still have stomuch pain .So I want to ask what diabet drugs that don’t upset stomuch (because she hate to take insulin injection ).
Avatar m tn I am maintaining a stage 3 and was on a 3 month regiment of vitamin d and we also eliminated metformin. I take Amaryl now, instead.. My blood glucose was out of control but my PCP put me on Victoza. That seems to be helping with the exception of BS levels being very low in the morning. My PCP has suggested she might take me off the Amaryl and just have me take more insulin along with the Victoza and Januvia. At this point we're experimenting with the meds to see what works better.
Avatar n tn I can't sleep was prescribed melatonin what is the maximum dosage I can take I am 16. 8 stone 12 about 5'10.
Avatar f tn I'm sorry, I missed the Hashi's dx - my mistake. I don't see anything that indicates you had a thyroid ultra sound? Please don't tell me I missed that too, in spite of going back and reading again...........LOL It's possible that you have nodules that are leaking hormone independently of the thyroid gland itself. This can swing you from hypo to hyper very quickly.
Avatar m tn I think you have some room in the dosing of the amaryl since I think 1 mg is just about the minimum dose. Although many people use insulin (Bill is one) I'm trying to avoid it. So, I walk and walk some more. Blood sugar is better (5.7), without affecting ast/alt but my feet, knees and back are screaming at me. If you're not taking metformin yet, you might talk with the doc. I haven't noticed sx from either.
1111143 tn?1259092353 I am still taking 1000mg of Metformin each morning, but she removed me from Januvia and Amaryl when she gave me the insulin. She did not give me a maximum dose for the insulin. Just one shot a day, just before bed. Start with 20 units and increase gradually until my morning BG is below 120. I've already got a call into her nurse letting her know it doesn't seem to be helping much and that I'm already up to 45 units before bed.
Avatar f tn We have decrmy Lantus to 10eased units in the even. and 1/2 Amaryl in the a.m. and p.m. I also take Januvia 100mg, and 2000 mg Metformin a day. My A1c has been 6.6 for a few years now, but have moved and have a new Dr. who wanted me to try the Victoza. My BS are running 154 (No lower) to as high as 272. OCCASIONALLY I might have a reading as high as 272 (My B'day celebration had to many sweets) :(. but not this high On a regular basis.
Avatar f tn t doing well and you raised them on your own to see if it would help which is never a good idea? What is the dose that you are taking? What dose did you take today? I could give you some more information then. But more importantly if you are starting to feel sick then you might have taken above what is the reccomended maximum dosage and clearly you are encountering some side effects.
Avatar n tn Please suggest for vit d 3 dose that is required for her .
783159 tn?1236291818 I took metformin for 6 months and it made me sick. My stomach reacted to it and I had pains in my muscles all the time. I am now on amaryl and get no side effects from it. But a lot of people are on metformin. Since it makes your stomach loose, you lose weight from it. And it controls the sugar level. Why don't they list it?
Avatar f tn max effective dose..........been on 20mg for 3 weeks............. wonderred if i would need more or just more time. worried if i take more i will be even more anxious, anyway i have an appt tomorow with psychiatrist so that is good timing i can ask her!
Avatar m tn If you truly took 10,000 mg of ibuprofen, you need to go to the ER ASAP. This is about 9 times the maximum dose you should take without the supervision of a doctor and about 3 times the maximum dose you should take even with the supervision of a doctor.
Avatar m tn If you have a 20 mGy exposure, then that is the maximum dose any tissue in the path of the radiation can recieve. In reality that is the dose exposed to at the skin on the beam side, and the dose decreases with tissue depth as some of the radiation is absorbed at each level as it penetrates tissue and is therefore gone and cannot expose the deeper tissues.
Avatar m tn I am a diabetic 2 since last 30 years.I take 8mg of Amaryl in the morning and 2 to 4mg in the evening (prescribed by an Internist 14 years ago). I also take Metformine 1000mg once in the morning and once in the evening. My last HbA1c (in February,2009) was 126 ( 7.00 mol/lit.) I was asked to see a diabetic nurse (as a normal routine) and she has aproblem with the dose of drugs that I take and advises me to shift to insulin. The doctors did not have any problem with my medication though.
Avatar n tn What is low-dose CMF? My OncoTypeDX was 12 and I am node neg. Estrogen pos progesterone neg Stage one breast cancer. I had a lumpectomy 12/20 and must decide on chemo(low-doseCMF) or not. I know what each drug is, but what is the low-dose part? If it's low-dose, do I really need it? I am going to do hormone therapy for 5 yrs and radiation.
Avatar n tn I am 42 years old Diabetic for 5 years on Metformin 500mg XL and Amaryl 2 mg. My blood sugars are not controlled. Fasting in 140 s and postprandial 300s. Avatar n tn however, there is a new lower maximum recently released that states 2,600 mg per day is the maximum. The maximum single dose of tylenol that can be taken safely is 1,000 mg. The oxycodone-acetaminophen that you are taking contains in each pill 5 mg of oxycodone and 325 mg of acetaminophen (aka tylenol). Make sure that you tally up the acetaminophen in each pill you take over the day and make sure that you don't exceed 1,000 mg in a single dose and 2,600 mg per day.
