Common Questions and Answers about Allergy rash

Avatar m tn If it is scabies (the rash caused by mites) you more than likely will develop blisters along with the rash. Scabies is VERY contagious. It is possible for an allergic reaction to last that long if you are not doing away with the culprit. Example: laundry detergent; if you are allergic to it and still using it, the rash will remain until you do away with it. Your rash sounds like a possible contact dermatitis.
Avatar m tn So what does the rash or acne like stuff look like? Does it itch? Does it follow the hair follicles? Is there all the time? Do you have any fever?
Avatar f tn An itchy rash behind his ears, a rash around his eyes and on his face, a rash on his neck and hive like rash on his belly. The rash took a few days to subside. We are in the process of having him tested for allergies.
Avatar f tn Last spring, it began with a rash across her cheeks. As the weather warmed, she began developing a rash on her arms and eventually a light rash upon her legs. As the spring turned into summer, the rash subsided. I took her to her pediatrician last year and was received with a shrug. No explanation was given and so I did my own research over the months and concluded she may be reacting to the sun. So I patiently awaited this spring to see if the same thing occurred.
Avatar n tn I seem to be having a rash reaction to Doxycycline and have taken far, no other symptoms after 10 hours. If I keep taking Doxy for the next 10 days, will my symptoms likely get worse or stay the same? With such a long half life, I'm likely to have this experience for several days anyway.

Avatar m tn t concerned and suggested I continue to take it. Yesterday (day 9), I noticed a rash beginning on my arm, and called the doctor to advise and update. He asked to see me, and by the time I got there (2 HOURS later), it had spread to my entire body, save my genitals and head. He still was very non chalant, given the potentially fatal side effects. After 1 dose of prednisone, while the rash has seemingly faded in color, it seems more dense. Is this a normal allergic reaction or something more?
Avatar n tn For five years now I am unable to sunbathe, I get a red rash and sometimes very small bubbles mostly on my belly and the inside of my arms and upper legs. It gets really itchy, especially at night and water doesn't help calm it, although cortisone creams do but i'd rather not use them, but in any case it goes away after a few days. Throughout my life I had always great resistance to the sun as I have olive skin and dark features.
Avatar f tn When my face is exposed to the sun I develop a raised rash all over my face which is red and blotchy but also with lots of white spots. The rash only occurs on my face even if the rest of my body is exposed. I wear a factor 50 sunscreen and try to cover my face as much as possible but it generally occurs whenever I am in the sun for a period of time. The rash usually takes up to five days to clear and can be quite sore.
Avatar n tn All of a suddena couple of nights ago, I got this itchy rash on the front and sides of my neck and upper chest. The only thing I did differently was take a protein shake, adding in a joint supplemental powder. MSM, Chrondrotin, etc. Has anyone ever had a rash from those joint supplements? Otherwise, I don't know what could have brought it on - it's lasted now for 5 days and I have avoided taking any supplements to see if it would go away. Any suggestions?
Avatar m tn I'm a swimmer and have developed this rash which consists of red bumps over my back, arms, front and legs. The rash itches terribly. I've tried creams and lotions and the rash stops itching in about two days. I find if I wash three times it seems to help keep it from getting to bad. Therefore I assume that it is something in the water. It only happens when I swim in my "Y" pool.

Avatar f tn I took plaquenil for 3 days and started to get a very bad rash. Not only was I itchy but I started getting blisters and hardened, peeling skin. After 2 weeks it started getting better and now two weeks past that, the rash is back again and it seems to be effecting my breathing. I feel like I have asthma. It is very frightening. Is there anything I can do?
Avatar f tn If you've always used protection then it's probably not an allergy to the latex it's most likely an allergy to the lubricant on the condom. Go to your gyno and explain the situation and he/she will get you some cream to put on it for now wear cotton panties to keep the area dry and feeling better. I know this sounds crazy but put some diaper rash cream on it to see if it clears up.
Avatar n tn I know it sounds very strange that the ring causes allergy on one finger but not on the other. However it is possible to have localized allergy to a particular metal. Alternatively maybe you had a very mild allergy, hardly noticeable, on that finger that got aggravated by gold touching it. I would suggest you see a skin specialist to know what it is exactly. If it was only due to localized reaction to gold, it should have healed by now. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn How do you get rid of a allergic reaction to rayon, i have itching intensity, a rash?
Avatar f tn Not being caused by pregnancy I don't think. Your skin could just be irritated. Try taking a warm shower with soap that you have used in the past. You could get some cortisone cream and put it on if it's itchy.
Avatar n tn The itchiness could be due to contact dermatitis, that is exposure to an irritant like a chemical or metal or anything you are allergic to, it can cause itchiness and rash. It could also be due to dry skin, certain medications or sometimes due to systemic disorders like jaundice. But to exactly pinpoint the pathology you will need to consult your primary care physician who will examine you and may ask for blood tests. If the need arises he may refer you to a dermatologist.
