Avatar n tn I even had one child who always sounded like her nose was stuffy and had bad breath, that went away with the allergy medicine. Singular really helped my children. It comes and goes, so I just give them a one a day allergy treatment when it is bothering them. Athsma can develope at anytime, and there are different kinds. I Hope you get a better nights sleep soon. Keep us posted.
Avatar f tn I ask because today getting my 5 year old ready for school I made a mistake of taking his allergy medication (singular 4 mg ) insted of my prenatl pill. know I'm waiting patiently on my ob to call me back...
150689 tn?1333990045 Hi I have 2 sons who are on singulair because they have asthma and get bad with colds and worse around allergy season. It is a preventative medicine. I think it helps alot.
Avatar f tn Dr wants me to get shots, I was told this is very dangerous level. I am against any shots. I tried singular, my level went higher during that time. I was told once that if level was1,000 and over the dr could not help me or give me shots. I feel like I don't have an evidence of allergies except some sneezing in the morning and heaviness in my eyes and head. I don't feel this justify s shots. What is the normal level and can you tell me if these shots are the right thing to do.
7003050 tn?1390124013 No. I use a Netty pot with sterile/preboiled water to decrease the symptoms. Went to see my Ob and allergist. I'm continuing my claratin and singular. Allergist changed flonase to rhinocort (super expensive). They want me to avoid triggering another bad asthma attack. That can be harmful to baby. Hope you feel better.
Avatar n tn I would ask for a methacholine challenge test that will give a yes/no answer of whether you have asthma. Also, ask your doctor to watch you use your inhaler, I found out I was using mine wrong and it really cuts down on the medicine you get into your lungs (the medicine "works" 10 times better now that I'm using the inhaler properly). You may have a mold allergy as well as the trees.
Avatar f tn I was told that I had a sinus infection and was in bronchiospasm. I called the pulmonologist today and they got me in. I had allergy testing (through blood work) three weeks ago. The pulmonologist said that the results of the bloodwork were consistent with an allergic reaction but no specific allergy was identified. The doctor felt that my lungs being in bronchiospam (asthma) could have caused this positive allergy test result without identifying any specific allergens.
Avatar f tn For example, I now understand that it is used in processed foods and is in a lot of medicine. He takes Veramyst, Singular, Zyrtec, Pantanese, Prilasec, Advair HFA and Albertol Solution or Inhaler. I'm now curious if his medications and diet might not be what are making him so sick. I need to get this under control, as he has missed 36 days of school in the last 2 years and he is only in Kindergarten.
Avatar f tn He has been on daily prednisolone for 3 years (maintenance dose 15 but usually 25 - 30mg or high dose IV), his lung function is around 65 - 70%, we have tried Xolair (no success), and also every type of preventer (singular, symbicort, ), buteyko breathing, chinese medicine, acupuncture, meditation, change in environment etc etc. He is currently on an immune suppressant (cyclosporine) on top of his steroids and usual asthma meds.
Avatar n tn ve been to doctors whom have given me Alegra D - Singular - Steroids - Cough medicine the works and nothing seems to really work. I do take Cough drops sometimes cause that's sometimes the only thing that will keep me from coughing. Does anyone have any idea what so ever because I'm sick and tired of spending 1000's of dollars.
Avatar f tn Should I try staying with this or try Singular. I thought I read up on Singular as causing liver issues. What do you think would be the safest way to go? Or the best? I love breathing better !!
Avatar f tn After gaining weight and slipping into a slight depression due to not being able to enjoy life I am now trying my luck with an integrated medicine doctor. He seems really excited to atleast TRY and help me. I am currently taking Singular, Zyrtec, Hydroxyzine,(been on those for 3+ months) and now started Butterbur, Slippery Elm, a probiotic and Royal Jelly (for a week so far( and have ZERO relief! Let week I went to go get a couple of tests so I'm excited to keep ruling things out!
Avatar f tn I have been on prednisone, nasonex, singular, various inhallers etc etc. I would like to finally get a firm diagnosis and therapeutic approach to handling the symptoms. Would an allergist or pulmonologist be the way to go?
Avatar f tn Hello, Thanks for your response. She has been on singular (which helped out a great deal when diagnosed with eosinophilic colitis 3 years ago) papaya enzyme, probiotics, (Allign) cyproheptadine, as well as YAZ for menstrual disorders. She was diagnosed with IBS 6 months ago. As I read the forum, I have become aware that there are other tests that they can run, for example a motility exam. These are avenues that we will pursue in the days ahead.
377493 tn?1356502149 He is seeing an allergist on the 22nd, but in the meantime she prescribed him singular (here in Canada it is by prescription only). She thinks the allergies are causing the constant runny nose, and that is what is making it harder for him to eat, thus the weight loss. Makes sense..we have suspected mild allergies for a while now. Also, he sort of wheezes at times, although it's when he is excited or upset, so hard to tell if it's allergy related or just a noise he likes to make.
Avatar f tn You can only take benedryl, nothing else.
Avatar f tn Can i take any type of non drowsy allergy medicine. I took a 24 hr non drowsy generic brand of allegra before i was pregnant? Can i still take it? I really am having a tough time with allergies without any medicine.
Avatar n tn We will try to stop Singular to see if this is so but I believe this started before Singular was administered for his allergy/asthma therapy and logn before his new brother arrived two months ago. Please advise at I am at my wits end.
Avatar f tn is there another medicine similar to singulair that doesn't have the bad side effects
Avatar n tn Hello I'm a 17 year old male, I've been having a warm feeling in my lower left leg, mostly in my left foot. I've also had this feeling on my upper left chest as well as in my ears, it feels like that part of my body is being soaked in warm water, my doctor didn't pay much attention to this and was clueless. I'm kind of freaked out at the moment seeing this has been going on for weeks and feels very unnatural, could a blood clot cause this? and any ideas?
Avatar f tn m allergic to grass and almost every tree, dust and animal my allergist says but the test sheet does not show elevated results on a few he says. Also taking singular, pantroprazol, Claritin and flovent. My allergy test from 2014 to my current one shows my allergies increased and I developed increased allergies to existing allergies and got a few more. I had a pulmonologist perform a lung function test and everything came back perfect.
Avatar f tn My daughter is 9 years old and was diagnosed with eosinophilic esophagitis over 3 years ago after 3 endoscopies it finally showed up. She has been on Singular for the past 3 years and it has been not too bad, although she still has an upset stomach at least once a week or so. Over the last 4 months she is sick almost daily to the point of wanting to be sick, only vomited once, and she has to lie down in the fetal position to get some relief.
Avatar n tn My son has been using Advair for 2 years. Before this he had been using Singular - which worked well until he was 6 (aside from the nightly night sweats). Therefore, the Dr. put him on Advair. He has had mood swings for years. If he doesn't get his way......watch out! I thought this was his personality. Then after speaking to different people, they mentioned that this could be a side effect from asthma meds. Now he is having night terrors. This started happening 3 weeks ago.
Avatar n tn I started wheezing, coughing, and spitting up phlegm (yellowish in color) about 8 months ago. Since then I have been on various rounds of antibiotics, prednisone, cough syrups, singular, symbicort, albuterol etc. I had been treated at the allergy clinic years before for allergies and asthma. I have had to take about 8 days of 10mg prednisone about 4 -5 times in the last 8 months. It is about the only thing that helps my coughing and spitting up of phlegm.
