Avatar f tn Hi, Yes you could be experiencing re-actions to an unknown allergens.Fresh coats of paint can trigger off allergic re-actions. Are you in contact with either on a day-to-day basis? As in an occupation or living in close proximity-in the vicinity of some-thing associated with either? First, the bad news: For many people, allergy season has become a year-round stint, according to the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI). But there's good news too.

5468358 tn?1368464832 I saw a neurologist last week, he is sending me for a MRI on my back and neck, and a EMG. They are calling me the mystery women because they don’t why my Eosinophils went up so high. I know Eosinophils in rare cases can cause tingling and numbness from nerve damage, the neurologist told me I might have more tingling and numbness as I come down on the prednisone. If I do, he told me to stright to the ER. I am still on 20Mg until I go back for blood work to insure my eosinophils are still down.
Avatar m tn If the IgE was high that could be allergy, also sometimes parasites can cause IgE to get higher. But if you dont' have diarrhea or other gastric problems then you probably don't have a parasite. IgG is one of the immunoglobulins that can be high when you are fighting an infection or your immunity (long term and past infections) is good. IgM is short term (current) infection. So, it probably is okay to have a slightly lower IgM and higher IgG.
Avatar m tn Do not waste your money on quackery/dubious tests: "The following procedures are not valid for managing food allergies: Neurological Stress Reduction Therapy (NRST) purports to use a BAX 3000 device to assess and treat allergies and many other conditions with a 'light and sound energy relaxation technique' that supposedly identifies problematic substances and conditions the body not to react negatively to them." Avatar n tn But a few days later, I found through the web, that the Test Lab which i visited is directed and owned by a clinical biochemist, and is mentioned in his website that he conducts the immunology tests. I just wonder if a clinical biochemist can conduct HIV tests, because in Greece the vast majority of blood tests in private Labs are done by microbiologists.
Avatar n tn However, there is a way of preventing the long term symptoms of allergies. This is through a process known as immunology, more commonly referred to as an allergy shot. You can also discuss this treatment option with the allergist. Hope it helps. They only heal the symptoms not healing the cause. Tell me what do you think about all this nutrition balance question? Thanks! And keep up the hope.
1415174 tn?1453243103 It is best to consult an expert on immunology about the allergy testing and only after consulting a professional doctor with expertise and experience on vaccination issues can the decision of vaccinating or not vaccinating can be taken. Do take care and keep us posted. Best of luck!
Avatar m tn I am only looking for a second opinion based on facts known about allergy shots. I am not sure if my doctor is worried about hurting me or if I am totally wrong. I seem to benefit more when it was strong enough to trigger a small controllable reaction 4-6 minutes after an injection. 2 hours later when the reaction wore off I felt GREAT! This question is if they are triggering a reaction does that mean that they will not work as well?
Avatar f tn I also had hormones check...all came back in normal range. I started having allergy shots about 2 years ago and have a feeling this may be the cause but I know for sure. Has anyone had any hair changes/loss due to allergen immunology? I have started taking a thyroid supplement and lots of other hair supporting supplements, including bone broth. Would apprceiate any help, or advise. Thanks!

Avatar f tn Pathology says it points to immunology but they say it is not an immune disorder. We are currently waiting to see Allergy Dr. and Rhuemotology. Although we have moved and changed many things, nothing has helped. He now has no pain relief. He doesn't eat well cause he can't, and is fatigued. I have heard from the Dr.s over and over that they have heard of this but never have seen it. They have seen mouth ulcers but never to this degree.
Avatar f tn I took your advice and had immunoglobulin testing and an allergy panel. I have a load of allergies, from dust mites to milk, wheat and eggs (all my favorites). I also had a cat scan done because of an inflammation that I have above my collarbone. Severe enough to make my neck look enflamed-right side more so than the left. The cat scan showed so inflammation in my lymph nodes in the anterior or postior of the neck. My immunology test for P-ANCA (mpo) WAS .92 and my ANA was Positive 1:80.
Avatar m tn Hello, Antibiotics are usually prescribed for infections and if you are having severe allergies then you can take a combination of antiallergy medications, steroids and if nothing proves useful then you can take allergy shots as well. However, there is a way of preventing the long term symptoms of allergies. This is through a process known as immunology, more commonly referred to as an allergy shot. So please discuss about these with your allergist.
Avatar f tn It could be rebound angioedema so you should get an allergy/immunology consult as soon as possible
Avatar n tn I would recommend you have a comprehensive medical evaluation -- preferably by a highly qualified internist, or perhaps a specialist in allergy and immunology or rheumatologist. Discuss the options with your primary care provider. In response to your specific questions about STDs, the answer is no: the body would not "react this way" in response to syphilis, HIV, or any other STD. As for hepatitis B, it is true that a new infection can present with symptoms similar to yours.
