Avatar n tn Hi. I'm 26 and I have a light beige skin tone. I have very brownish skin around my eyes. It goes up to my brow line and below my eyes as well. This is not typical dark circles. It is brown rather than grey or bluish. No amount of extra sleep, water, iron, or anything else seems to help. It has gotten worse over the past 8 years or so. I have heard that it could be caused by some sort of health problem. Any insight would be helpful.

Avatar f tn is there any product or treatment that you can recommend to reduce or lighten the "raccoon" appearance or "dark circles" around your eyes that African Americans and people of darker skin often get as they age? My are horrible! No amount of sleep or concealer seem to help. In the last two years it has gotten noticeably worse. Avatar f tn First of all it doesnt look like a skin disease but rather a benign hyperpigmentation. Have you had irritation around your eyes in the past? Sensitive skin especially around the eyes? Have you been exposing your self in the sun without sunglasses and face suncream? Its hard to apply depigmenting agents in that area. If you are a smoker try to cut down on it and try to take Vitamin C supplements ( not more than 500mg pill ). Did it happen after a pregnancy or a hormonal event?
Avatar f tn Our girl Abby, 55 lb German-Australian Sheppard mix has been to the vet three times in the past year for one ear infection and two separate incidents of skin rashes. The vet diagnosed allergies, all treated and cleared. The last visit a couple of months ago vet said we can start with otc cortisone if rashes return and see if it helps, but if more frequent episodes then consider going back for prescription strength meds.
Avatar n tn It could be allergies, although an good eye doctor should be able to diagnose eye allergy symptoms. Did you see an opthamologist or an optometrist? An opthamologist is a medical doctor specializing in the eye. An optometrist only does vision testing for glasses. I find using contact saline solution as an eye wash and an antihistamine eye drop are very helpful. I like Zaditor for my eye drop and use an antique eye wash cup to wash my eyes twice daily. I hope that helps.
Avatar f tn I have the same problem as well. Also when I wake up I have yellow thick liquid in the outer corner of my eyes along with dried up gunk around my eyes. I've search all over for a reason and the only result I can come up with is its eye allergies. Which I'm unsure with because it is a constant no matter what the day is like.
Avatar m tn if ur skin is yellow then ur eyes cant be normal. hypebilirubunemia ie. excess of bilirubin ie. jaundice first of all manifests in the sclera(eye white portion) then elsewhere. Yellowing of urine does not necesarily indicate jaundice. It is a common physiological activity at most instances.
Avatar n tn t have any of these problems until 6 or 7 years ago, but my eyes have always had this dark ring around the iris. What's up with this theory? This discussion is related to focusing problems with eyes.
Avatar f tn You take your child to their pediatrician, if they say nothings wrong, then you need to call an allergist specialist and have your child tested for any kind of allergies! It doesn't hurt the child, ll they do is take skin samples off your childs back, by wiping it with a thin piece of plastic. They will then place a few allergiens on your childs back to see if anything what your child is allergic to.
Avatar m tn 1. Jaundice is yellowing of the eyes and skin and is the first symptom of bile retention. When serum bilirubin increases and secretion of urine bilirubin is out of balance, jaundice starts to show up. The degree of jaundice can be described from golden yellow, yellowish green, dark brown to deep dark green.
Avatar m tn I awoke 12 hrs ago with red puffy circles around my eyes. I first thought it was lack of sleep since I am a new parent but soon realized it was far worse than "tired eyes". My eyelids are swollen with one top lid being more fluid filled and puffy. There is a red rash on the far sides of both my eyes and the skin is slightly broken, mildly irritated and burns a bit. The bags under my eyes are now wrinkled and look streched with dry patches throughout.
Avatar n tn My four year old daughter has suddenly developed swelling around her eyes, nose and cheeks.. Eyes and cheeks are mildly red and doesnt seem to hurt. The skin has small bumps. No obvious bites, wounds or throat swelling.. No circumstances have changed recently to make me think allergic reaction, and shes never had an allergic reaction to anything. She recently got over a mild feverless cold with congestion and runny nose.. Any ideas?
Avatar f tn The red sounds like allergies or something, but is the yellow discharge or are the whites of your eyes yellowish in color? See your doctor immediately if this is the case. Yellowing of the eyes sounds like jaundice and should be taken seriously.
Avatar f tn hello my 4 year old female lab retriever has been to the vet many times before because she has allergies. She's been on prednisone/steroids which im not too fond of and told the vet that i refuse to give her those because it makes her gain a lot of weight. Anyway Ive been giving her benadryl because she's usually itchy around her eyes, her nose is really runny, and the doctor said it was fine. Well recently ive noticed she's lost a chunk of hair underneath her tail by her butt.
Avatar n tn And I only found this out becuase I went to the ER and one reason I went the ER was because I was yellow. My eyes and skin were yellow. I was acute and cleared on my own. If you are acute they say those that go as far to show jaundice druing the acute phase have a better chance at clearing on their own.
522162 tn?1212096128 36 years old, pretty much healthy I've been a hard contact lens wearer for over 10 years. I worn the contacts since I've had the itchy skin. I have been give Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream 0.1% for ecezma around the neck area. ( I know this cream shouldn't be used around the eye area) Can you get ecezma around the eyes too? The Eye Dr. told me I have allergies...first time I've been diagnosed with allergies. Not sure what else to do?
Avatar f tn I cannot remember the exact name. She was tested negative for this disorder, however, her skin continues to show around her eyes. Now she has a small bump on her upper eyelid on the right eye. When I looked at it up close, her skin looked thicken in that area with a small pimple. I was thinking to take her to the vet to get this checked out. Does anyone know what could cause this??
Avatar f tn When the air blows in my face it irritates the veins/blood vessel around my eyes, they get puff and swollen that causes the pressure in my eyes to go up. I'm using four different eye drops provided by my doctor. I only have close-up vision in my left eye and I'm worried that I may soon lose site in my right eye. Should I see a dermatologist are have my doctor do a patch skin test? I've had two blood test, I'm not sure what they were looking for.
Avatar f tn Everyone I’ve spoken to says that the eye is white. Just white. But can they be a slight tint of yellow under the eyelids? My eyes has a faint yellow ring around them, I do have elevated liver enzymes that doctors have just ignored so I haven’t taken them seriously but now I’m about to push them to at least double check and I’m not sure if this is even a thing.
Avatar f tn The appearance of your eye is within the normal range. The amount of veins is not excessive. The yellowish spots are usually sun damage. The about or 'red eyes' varies tremendously and in one person will change dramatically from time to time. Think about your eyes turning 'bloodshot' if you are crying, out in the wind, have allergies, around something irritating like smoke, have been drinking alcohol or using pot, etc.
Avatar n tn Our cat has black around her eyes, ears and muzzle. She scratches so much that she is making herself bleed. I have treated her for fleas and mites with revolution. The vet feels that revolution is effective for mites and fleas and doesn't think that is the cause. Any suggestions?
Avatar n tn What happens is their eyes stop producing their own tears, and the eyes dry out and become very itchy and irritated. As a result, the skin around the eyes becomes red and inflamed looking, and it COULD have something to do with the redness and hair loss around the mouth as well, since these dogs have such short faces, the itchy eyes cause them to rub their faces on carpets, rough-textured furniture, etc., to seek relief from the itching.
