I do have sensative skin in general, I have allergies to some shampoos and my skin can get really dry in winter. I thought is was an infection but when i went to the walk in doctor he only tested for STD's and nothing else, he thought it was herpes. I never have had any bumms or bubbles. Just what i stated above.
I moved from a very humid climate to a dry, colder climate/higher altitude this winter. Since moving here, we both have developed rashes throughout our body. Dry skin, kind of scaly but not quite, just noticible, red patches some no bigger than a dime some larger. They itch too. I have to assume that this is due to the climate change, but wonder what would be good treatment. I have tried a combination of a good moisturizer mixed with hydrocortisone cream with no luck.
A lot of people say they have sensitive skin or really dry skin... but honestly I've never seen/met anyone on a day-to-day basis who seems to have symptoms as bad as mine...
I was born with eczema and allergies and it only seems to get worse with time. The skin on my face, particularly, goes through continuous boughts of really inflamed and allergy-ridden to really really really dry and back again.
It looks almost like acne for a teenager. His belly gets very red as well and irritated. The skin gets dry and hair falls out more easily. I know it has to be allergies due to it coming back every spring season.
My biggest question would be- What should I do to hydrate his skin and slow down/prevent future irritation?
He is currently on a hydrocordizone spray and gets bi weekly oatmeal baths with special mineral salt scrub? ( my girlfriend is a groomer).
ve been having itching going on beneath my eyes and looked it up. I found that cold air outside and low humidity in the house can cause dry, irritated skin. Well, that has been the way of it lately a lot where I live- cold air outside, low humidity inside.
I read that cold compresses, patting dry, not rubbing, and using moisturizing cream were things to try. I read the skin under the eye is thin and delicate and the advice not scratch.
Differentials for this may be a fungal infection, irritant dermatitis or a psoriatic skin condition. These skin conditions may fall under a general skin condition affecting the glans penis known as balanitis. Balanitis is not necessarily a sexually transmitted disease. It may be secondary to mechanical injuries or infections caused by skin to skin contact.
In your case, I suggest that you have this assessed by your physician so that these differentials may be differentiated from one another.
Contact dermatitis is an inflammation of the skin caused by direct contact with an irritating or allergy-causing substance (irritant or allergen). Reactions may vary in the same individual over time. A history of any type of allergies increases the risk for this condition.
Common allergens include Poison ivy, poison oak, poison sumac and other plants, nickel or other metals, Rubber, Cosmetics, Fabrics and clothing, Detergents, Solvents etc.
This test is painless, in which a very small amount of certain allergens are pricked into the surface of your skin. If you have allergies, just a little swelling will occur where the allergen was introduced. Reactions occur within about 15 minutes. If needed more sensitive intradermal tests will be used in which a small amount of allergen is injected within the skin. Based on this he may plan for immunotherapy.

in diameter. These circles are very slightly raised, and have peeling/ dry skin on top. They are not bothersome, but seem to be appearing randomly. My family doctor has never seen this before and has told me to see if it clears up on its own. Does anyone know what this is, or what may be causing this?
