Avatar n tn Every night, literally a few minutes after I lay down to go to sleep, I develop this horrible itchy throat that always leads to coughing and gagging. This sensation will last for about ten to fifteen minutes, which i will spend coughing, drinking water, blowing my nose, and trying desperately not to throw up. Then it will fade to a more mild itch that I can sleep though. I will feel fine all day, and then, consistently, this cough will rise up as I'm about to go to sleep.

Avatar n tn I've had severe allergies for 24 weeks! My whole pregnancy. I have been coughing and sneezing for this long! Now for a month now I have had ear aches, and sore throat. I take claritin once daily, delsum cough medicine, benadryl at night, for the pressure in my ear I plug my nose and mouth and blow air until I hear and feel a mild POP or use steam for nasal problems, I use saline non medicated nasal spray and gargle salt water, I'm gonna buy a humidifier to help too.
Avatar f tn I hate feeling so sick with allergies and I feel if ny coughing is bothering the baby.. any help?
Avatar n tn Coughing and sneezing? No hun that isnt a pregnancy symptom. She probably has a cold or allergies.
Avatar n tn whats the different between true allergies and non true allergies
Avatar m tn I have been to the doctor several times over coughing, taken bunches of medicine, when the medicine runs out I cough again. I have sinus drainage, allergies (for which I have had two years of shots), my nose isn't clogged and I do not have sinus headaches, occasional sinus pressure, nothing bad. The past several winters I get a "viral infection" and I cough, mostly at night, I get this a couple of times a year, late fall and mid spring.
Avatar m tn I have tried some over the counter allergy medicine thinking it might be allergies, because I do have seasonal allergies. However these haven't helped and I am pretty sure it is not allergies because it is always like this. When I cardio exercise while actually exercising it is only about 60% but after the exercise I have an attack.
Avatar f tn I have such a itchy throat, and i keep coughing i hate it.. its annoying..
Avatar f tn I've never had allergies b4 but i'm so congested I can't breathe at all :/ My chest feels heavy I blow my nose and nothing comes out but as soon as I try to lay down its runny. I've tried Benadryl, saline drops and steam nothing is working anyone else? Anything that's helping u?
Avatar m tn He said it could be allergies, although I have had allergies in the past, my last attack was well over 10 years ago and never involved coughing just sneezing, it doesn’t feel at all like allergies and my allergies were caused by pollen, this started in the winter months. I have read all sorts of cancers that can cause coughs, including oesophagus cancer. Do you think I should pursue this further, and if so what specialist should I see?
Avatar n tn Tops among those are asthma, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and nasal/sinus disease with chronic postnasal drip. With all of these, the x-ray would be normal and, with all 3 including asthma, the breathing test could be normal, too. I trust you are not a smoker of cigarettes or marijuana as that is also a common cause of cough. Note: cough can sometimes be the main symptom of asthma, with no wheezing.
Avatar f tn also, do you have allergies? Allergies can cause the excessive coughing. It could also be due to the humidity in the atmosphere. If you are concerned, you should see your physician.
Avatar n tn but spend anywhere between 2-8 hours coughing at night.. it is not a dry cough, in fact he seems to be bringing up a lot of mucus.. people have described it as an old mans cough and I would agree. it all started when he has a severe throat and chest infection... which cleared up with antibiotics, but the cough stayed.. this was 6 MONTHS AGO.. and he has not had one night since where he hasnt coughed. I have taken him to the doctors more times then i can remember..
Avatar m tn Has anyone found any help for this "chronic cough" condition??? This discussion is related to Coughing, coughing, coughing!!.
Avatar f tn I would have thought the vets would have identified any CHF or upper respiratory problems, but tend towards allergies because they are extremely difficult to pin down. In addition, you mention the cough is worse at night, which is very typical of airborne allergies. In addition to the other questions asked by Margot, it is worth knowing what foods and treats you are giving your dog on a regular basis?
