Common Questions and Answers about Aldara news

Avatar n tn I'd still say it could be a reaction to the Aldara, and how you are using it. You will just need to wait and see what the test results say.
Avatar n tn It was a very small one, hardly visible, so I didn't do much about it. I went to the doctor again 2 months ago and he suggested to use Aldara on it because he didn't keep a nitro gun. I had been using it for about 2 months when I developed this sore on my penis, size of a quater, but not round. There were no blisters but just a sore as if the skin had been peeled off. It was slightly weepy, pink, shiny and had white pus like formation/skin on it.
Avatar f tn I have genital HPV and I was treating the warts using Aldara. Applied a lot of the cream Monday to the outside of lower labia minora. Wednesday the labia was hard, swollen and really sore. Friday the swelling was reduced and in it place were 2 sore lesions located just inside the labia. I am now convinced it is herpes from looking at pictures online and reading the symptoms. I am also experiencing tingling down there too! I also have a decreased appetite although this could be from worry.
Avatar f tn After months of endless treatment, mostly freezing i am trying aldara. I've tried it before but am now using it less regularly to reduce pain. After my first time using it again 2 nights ago, they have turned white. Is this working ? Need some positive news as it's just got worse since I was diagnosed.
Avatar n tn I was just diagnosed with genital warts, probably the worst news i had ever heard only because the amount of partners I had been with was very slim and my fiance is the only person that I did not use a condom with....anyways, i have several questions that keep running through my head and need some answers to hold me over till i talk to my doctors next. Once my outbreak goes away with the medicine my doctor prescribed me (Aldara) will they keep coming back monthly?
Avatar f tn took about 6 months to completely clear my first break out through freezing and Aldara. About 4 months after they had cleared I got a single wart, used Aldara and had it cleared and now a few more have showed up.. I will be using Aldara again. I have recently met someone and although we are taking it slow I am very upset, how would I be able to explain this to them? I am also so terrified to go to the doctor incase I hear anymore bad news. Is this going to last forever... seems like it..
Avatar m tn 1. Should I wait and try Aldara Cream or just do the laser treatment, knowing that I didn't do any screening test?2. Can the genital warts get more spread after laser treatment since is in early stages of warts? 3. In future can Genital warts be cleared from my body and be able to get married with kids? 4. Is Co2 Laser Treatment is the best wart removal option? Hope to have suitable answers from you. Thanks in return.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with HPV (high and low risk), and Chlamydia (stupid choices yield torment!!) in June 2012, and was treated with vaginal antibiotics for the Chlamydia, and treated the HPV (Aldara). I had a biopsy done due to cervical cell changes, and that came back normal. I have had a sore throat and a swollen left tonsil for 2 months. What gives? I've done the worst thing ever and googled HPV and sore throats and got "cancer" as a result.
Avatar n tn I had them frozen off to only return within a month or two. So I decided to try the prescription drug Aldara on the advice of a dermatologist after he tried applying some similar acting agent product in the office with limited results after 5 weekly visits. Within 1 week of treatment my genitals became extremely sensitive and red, I also experienced herpes like outbreaks on my lips and a general feeling of tiredness and malaise.
Avatar n tn My regular MD felt I should wait until age 21 to have my first pap smear, so all routine physicals have been through her. Nothing has come up irregular. This week I had my first pap smear. My doctor delivered the news that she "thinks" I have genital warts. She said that she would prescribe me Aldara cream to apply topically, but that she was only "70 percent sure" that this was a case of HPV.
Avatar f tn I don't seem to have any more warts, but my dermatologist recommended that I try Aldara to boost my immune system. I've read a lot of negative reviews of Aldara (irritation, etc) so I wonder if it would be wise for me to use it, since it's very expensive but more importantly the irritation may not be worth it given I don't have any visible warts anymore.
Avatar n tn i do think there may be a way to get rid of it..but similar to aldara. perhaps an injection of an aldara-like immune modifer into the lymph nodes for a week long trial? this may help the body slam the EBV (mono). you're spreading this **** when you don't even know it because the Epstein Barr Virus (MONO..yep..

Avatar m tn If you are in your 20s or younger and don't have HIV....Aldara will probably cure the virus within a few months (whether it's HPV or molluscum contagiousum) I doubt you have a skin tag on your penis. HPV is very common just use the meds and get rid of it while you still stand a chance. HPV turns into carcinoma (cancer). Yep. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Just use the meds.
Avatar m tn I learned about the infection when 2 small warts appeared on my penis. I was prescribed Aldara to battle the warts however, I had some re-occurrences with one of them. When the wart re-appeared, it was smaller in size and I continued to use Aldara to clear it. Also, I’ve had plantar warts on my hands and feet since I was little.
Avatar m tn P Anywho, I've finally gotten over the whole "ohmigawd I have HPV, my life is ruined, I should go live off as a hermit somewhere in the mountains" stage of my life and have begun to slowly "creep out my shell," so-to-speak. All because I'm fancy for a girl, naturally. Now, obvious conflicting emotions of "wanting to be with her" and "keeping her ten feet away" aside, I do have something new that nags at the back of my mind; possible oral HPV?
Avatar m tn i've had warts for 2 years. after trying cryotherapy and aldara nothing worked so 6 months ago i started the burning option. seems to have worked. last burning session was over 3 months ago. since then nothing has appeared except for this bump. its been there for like 2 months.
Avatar m tn Hi, I read the news article and doctors comments. It is a promising treatment for HPV. It is still very early in clinical trails. It sounds like it doesn't work for everyone as a cure. Some seem to be cured while others have to stay on the drug. There are side effects of long term treatment with Celebrex as well.
Avatar f tn I thought it was because I had sex in a hot tub with a condom on and the condom was rubbing against my skin and was somewhat painful and raw. They told me that it was a genital wart. They gave me the Aldara cream to use and I used it for a day or two and then stopped because it was burning so bad. When I went back, it was gone. I don't know if I am in denial or not but I feel like it still could've been a blister from the rubbing condom. If it was a wart does that mean I have HPV as well?
Avatar f tn Are you sure its herpes, did your test come back positive? Becaue I had a server reaction to aldara and the doctors told me that's what I had but they tested me and it came back negative!
Avatar m tn i went for nitrogen , electro cautery and aldara cream treatment X 2, the keratosis went away, but the come back with more smaller new bumps. do i need a 2nd biopsy?
Avatar f tn Do you think I should find a different OB-GYN who would look into this more than the wait and see approach? she did say she would order Aldara since I seemed so concerned. I just don't want to have the warts to get bigger because it takes longer to clear them.
Avatar n tn I hate to be the bearer of bad news.... When I was 19 I was sexually assaulted and contracted genital warts (I'd never been sexually active before this). I had an appointment for laser surgery, but they disappeared on their own (a couple of months). I had precancerous cervical cells a couple of years later (removed by LEEP surgery), so I'm checked 2x a year, and was always clear for warts and abnormal cells.
Avatar m tn Alrighty well that's good news! Thank you for your time Dr. H! If I could ask you one more thing... I just started my Aldara treatment last night but am a little nervous about it as I did some research and there have been a couple horror stories about it but I guess that's any med... Is it pretty common to prescribe that if a wart is not really going away after 2 freezes? All my best.
Avatar f tn However, having it with a stripper is an exception, as that is high risk person and more than likely 1 contact is enough to get a bunch of HPVs There is an accidental finding recently in the news --- the antibiotic neomycin is actually usually used for bacterial infection. It is recently discovered that neomycin is in fact.. ANTIVIRAL. There is a possibility that it might even compete with Aldara or Zovirax creams. Aldara can come with horrendous side effects.
Avatar m tn OR it could be like Chicken Pox, where once it's gone it's gone but it lives in your spinal column. The fact is we don't know. The good news, There is NO PROOF it is still inside your body. That is only a theory, though a very good one. What is known that in 90% of cases that there are no traces of it, so even in the body hasn't eliminated it is at undetectable levels.
4865450 tn?1361298133 have them laser removed and immediately start using an aldara and celebrex combo for a year. tell your doc you are really stiff or something to get the celebrex... maybe do some research and tell your doc what he/she needs to hear because insurance isn't going to cover it for your warts but it has been proven to work. it's not FDA approved yet.. too new of a treatment. There is an HIV drug that cures HPV as well, it's called Lopinavir - also not FDA approved for HPV.
Avatar n tn when i was diagnosed i was freaking out too - i was sure i'd have them the rest of my life and i would never be normal or attractive again. but the good news is the virus clears your body within 1-2 years 99% of the time, and there are treatment options.
Avatar n tn You can't let these spots stand in the way of your mental health and your chances of establishing relationships. I am confident that if you ask, you won't get bad news. Take care. Dr.
Avatar f tn You can have them removed by your provider or you can try something like aldara cream for a few months to see if that helps. No way to know if you contracted hpv from your rape or from your current partner. You also should make sure that you had proper follow up for std testing after your rape. you have to wait 3 months after the incident for hiv and herpes testing. are you on the pill for your endo?
