Common Questions and Answers about Alcohol poisoning symptoms

alcohol

Avatar m tn Sounds like a bad reaction with another drug you had in your system at the time. 6 oz of beer is not enough to do anything. You symptoms are indicative of another problem and you should see a medical professional.
Avatar n tn hi. if these symptoms are still present, a doctor or er visit would be advisable. could be food or other poisoning. if you both ate at a restaurant, and it's food poisoning, you could check with the establishment or your local health department to see if there were other instances reported.
Avatar n tn My friend died of alcohol poisoning with a BAC of 0.70 does this not seem extremely high, is this possible?
Avatar m tn Think of it as getting lucky this time. There are only so many times you can drink until you have alcohol poisoning without some permanent damage to your liver. Take it from someone that knows. Diagnosed 03-23-10 end stage cirrhosis.
Avatar m tn t urinate for some reason except once after I started drinking (and I just found out every time you urinate 10% of it leaves your body) and I drank on an empty stomach. Is that enough that I got a small case of alcohol poisoning? I woke up puking everywhere which I never do unless I'm REALLY sick and I was shivering even though my family member says it was hot in here and I don't get cold easily on top of that and I was confused and other unpleasant things.
Avatar f tn I remember throwing up and then passing out again. I slept for 8 hour. I read that alcohol poisoning can cause dehydration, leading to low blood pressure and low supply of oxygen to the brain. Also, that alcohol in high doses can slow your breathing, also causing inadequate supply of oxygen to the brain. Did I suffer alcohol poisoning? What are the chances that I my brain starved of oxygen while I was passed out? It’s possible that I suffered some kink of brain damage from this single episode?
Avatar n tn m quite sure it was not alcohol poisoning, I had 2 drinks the entire evening and was not having the symptoms of alcohol poisoning. I thank you though for helping me figure out what it might be.
Avatar m tn I'm not real sure if this is where I should post this but my boyfriend went out last night and drank about 15 beers and said he had 1 1/2 liquor drinks on top of that. Normally each night he consumes about 6 or more beers a night. On a few occasions his body gets splotchy - chest & head only - and has a very hard time breathing - about to pass out - and gets chills. He has gone to the emergency room many times for this but no one seems to know what it is.
Avatar m tn t keep multiple things in mind at a time.Is it alcohol poisoning or something else.i consulted a psychiatrist and he said it was becoz of sensitivity. If itz a case of sensitivity ,why I m experiencing problems still now after 3 weeks .On the contrary if itz poisoning ,how can small amount of ethanol cause poisoning..?
Avatar m tn t mention anything about alcohol poisoning? Do you think I could be experiencing symptoms from that? The hospital was not my medical provider so they did not mention much and when I woke up I did not ask many questions, I was still confused.
Avatar m tn http://www.collegedrinkingprevention.gov/OtherAlcoholInformation/factsAboutAlcoholPoisoning.aspx Pay special attention to the symptoms. I know from first hand experience that a lot of things go through your mind when you think someone may have alcohol poisoning, and there is a natural reaction to hope you are wrong and wait to see if the person to be OK, and that people may very well get mad if you are wrong and drag them to the hospital.
Avatar m tn If you have enteritis (food poisoning. From eating contaminated foods and water as well as from alcohol poisoning. If you have infections from ears, throat, migraines, kidney and, gall bladder problems that too can cause persistent vomitting until treated. Another reason is self induced.
Avatar f tn I drank one of his alcoholic beverages. It has been a year since I drank it. The drink he made contains %40-45 of alcohol and I drank approximately 400-500 ml of it. I didn't feel bad that night except being drunk. I slept well and even though I have headache too often, I didn't even suffer from headache that day. The thing that I am worried about, is it possible that the alcohol I drank can be methanol and I survived it?
Avatar f tn I have a strange question. A friend just called to say her ex-husband's sweat is now smelling like urine. He has been drinking along with taking pain pills and muscle relaxers for awhile. He has been having alot of problems with vomitting and had an Ultrasound which looked ok except that they couldn't see the pancreas due to bowel gas. He is supposed to have a CT scan done to double check but hasn't gotten around to it.
Avatar f tn This might sound strange but were you ever bitten by a tick? One of the symptoms of lyme disease is "exaggerated symptoms or worse hangover from alcohol" Check this page for other symptoms. Some people don't even know they had a tick bite: http://www.lymeneteurope.

Avatar f tn EMG ruled that out. I know that it often starts because of diabetes or some kind of poisoning (like alcohol poisoning and more) I was also looking into if poisoning mold could cause it, but I´m not sure. So from what I read, I thought if I had this, I could try to avoid the things that make me sick and then I would get some relief. Is that not the case? Do you have other symptoms than pain? Do you take neurontin? I sure hope you can get some relief.
Avatar f tn Prolonged stress of any kind (your mother must be in because of so many problems), sleep deprivation (again a possibility with her), brain damage (due to methyl alcohol poisoning) are the other contributing features in your mother’s case. She needs a psychiatric evaluation along with these causes being ruled out. Discuss with her doctors whether sleep therapy and attempt at distressing her will help. Hope this helps. Do let me know if there is any thing else and keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar m tn That is a dose that can be very harmful especially when you add alcohol to the mixture. I think you have liver poisoning from the 5600mg that you took along with the alcohol. You need to call your doctor immediately. Here is some stuff for you to consider. I am not a doctor but I can tell you that I am pretty certain that you did some damage to your liver. Consequences of Ibuprofen overdose: According to research institutes, Ibuprofen overdose damages your internal organs like liver.
Avatar n tn I am wondering how you guys turn down alcohol in front of family and friends? I will be going to a big weekend wedding that will last 3 days and interested in tips how to navigate that without raising eye brows. Thanks!
Avatar f tn Could be toxic hepatitis. A rash that goes away once the toxin is discontinued, is one of the symptoms. I think it's worth going to the doctor and getting it checked out.
Avatar f tn So I'm a young frequent binge drinker. I'm 17 and last night I drank probably about 5 beers, 3 shots of fermented alchohol, and then some more throughout the night as I laid under my friends table. I was up till 4 am and I was sobering up at that point. I usually have a pretty high tolerance- I've never blacked out and can drink up to 7 shots. I'm not looking for a lecture as I am looking for a therapist on my own to work through my binge drinking problem.
Avatar f tn t show any other signs of alcohol poisoning so I was wondering if there was another thing less fatal than alcohol poisoning.
