Avatar n tn if these symptoms are still present, a doctor or er visit would be advisable. could be food or other poisoning. if you both ate at a restaurant, and it's food poisoning, you could check with the establishment or your local health department to see if there were other instances reported.
Avatar f tn I had a hangover on Saturday, food poisoning Sunday, began a fever on Monday and had the beginning of a cold sore. I tried some every recommendation and it helped with pain. But when I put alcohol on it, it instanstly dried out and started shrinking. I thought cold sores take days to heal. Is this a cold sore or not?
Avatar f tn Hi so i'm 18 years old and a girl, 3 days ago i went out and I had quite a bit to drink. I wasn't sick or anything but when i got home I had a bit of water and went to bed, but all night i felt really dizzy. Next morning I felt dizzy every time I moved and didn't eat all day and had some water. 3 days later i'm still really dizzy and haven't gotten a great a mound of sleep since but i have been eating and drinking lots of water.
Avatar m tn "normal" doesn't always mean drinking. My grandmother has never had a drink in her life, but she was a regular at many parties and bars. She has fun without the alcohol. For some people, normal means no alcohol at all. I too suffer from OCD and can understand your obsessive thoughts and how they can take over your life. What I've found to help me is my weekly group (love them) and a journal. A lot of positive talk to yourself will help too.
672475 tn?1227793166 hi. usually when a person can correlate negative consequences with a certain behavior, they will cease the behavior. this is not the case with chemical dependency, as it is characterized by the continuation of actions that are self destructive. if the drinking seems to be causing problems and you are still trying to find a way to continue consuming alcohol, it's highly likely you either have a problem or are very close to developing one.
Avatar m tn It sounds like you have a touch of food poisoning or a virus. I am sure it will pass. Obviously take in broth, tea, toast, bananas, other foods that are easy on your system. Shelf the alcohol until you get your strength back. Pretty logical, really.
Avatar f tn When one has alcohol poisoning they FEEL it several hours after consuming a LOT of alcohol which you do not specify how much consumed, your body weight and number of drinks.People generally lapse into a stupor and need immediate medical assistance.Thats a LOT of drinking you noted having done!Might need to re-visit/rethink future choices in this area!
Avatar f tn This might sound strange but were you ever bitten by a tick? One of the symptoms of lyme disease is "exaggerated symptoms or worse hangover from alcohol" Check this page for other symptoms. Some people don't even know they had a tick bite: http://www.lymeneteurope.
Avatar m tn It doesn't sound like you'd be having withdrawals from that weekend but maybe you got alcohol poisoning?
Avatar f tn m a 15 year old girl and drank gulps of vodka In a short amount of time Saturday afternoon. I threw up everywhere and had some symptoms of alcohol poisoning but I was assured I was going to be okay by some friends of mine so we didn't go to the hospital. i didnt pass out but I felt like absolute ****. I have been drinking a lot of water and tea and eating bread and fruits to try and replenish my body but my head still feels fuzzy and I feel a little out of it.
Avatar m tn When you drink remember to be responsible my uncle died of alchol poisoning. Drinking lots of water is important in general so it is especially when you have a hangover.
Avatar n tn My friend died of alcohol poisoning with a BAC of 0.70 does this not seem extremely high, is this possible?
Avatar m tn t urinate for some reason except once after I started drinking (and I just found out every time you urinate 10% of it leaves your body) and I drank on an empty stomach. Is that enough that I got a small case of alcohol poisoning? I woke up puking everywhere which I never do unless I'm REALLY sick and I was shivering even though my family member says it was hot in here and I don't get cold easily on top of that and I was confused and other unpleasant things.
Avatar m tn Sounds like a bad reaction with another drug you had in your system at the time. 6 oz of beer is not enough to do anything. You symptoms are indicative of another problem and you should see a medical professional.
779797 tn?1263618235 So for over a year now ive got a weird symptom when drinking beer or any alcohol. I get really dizzy and really tired. I used to be able to drink a 6 pack a night if i wanted to, no problem. Now i cant even have an occasional drink without feeling like i took a sleeping pill and out of my head. What the hell? I was on pain meds for my spine issues, but didnt take them when i was gonna have a beer or 2.. I eliminated that, out of my system for over 45 days, and still nothing.
Avatar m tn I imagine I couldnt have been far from alcohol poisoning. The next day I had no appetite, slept on and off all day and threw up a few more times. monday I woke up feeling generally fine, but never really felt like I was awake. Its now thursday and like every other day, my body feels fine..but my head feels foggy and I feel really REALLY tired, like just-woke-up tired but it lasts all day. I've slept decent every night, more than I would normally sleep even.
Avatar m tn You must have really drank a lot to be up until 4am. A week is a long time to be hung over, but I don't know how much you drank. Maybe you got alcohol poisoning from too much drinking. Can you talk to your parents about this, I would definately try. A visit to the doctor might be good to get tests for toxicity in your liver. Depending how often you drink, you should be concerned with harming your liver.
Avatar m tn t keep multiple things in mind at a time.Is it alcohol poisoning or something else.i consulted a psychiatrist and he said it was becoz of sensitivity. If itz a case of sensitivity ,why I m experiencing problems still now after 3 weeks .On the contrary if itz poisoning ,how can small amount of ethanol cause poisoning..?
Avatar f tn Since going on it (50mcg), I have noticed I experience a sort of hangover even with low alcohol intake (i.e. less than 2 beers). It is not, however, like a normal hangover, but almost like I have ingested too much salt. I will have a headache, but it is not the classic spinning, throbbing, nauseous feeling. Any ideas?
Avatar f tn Do I need to go to the ER to get activated charcoal or anything? Has this ever happened to you? Is it just like a hangover? Anything help with the nausea or just wait it out?
758077 tn?1282595561 I think anyone and everyone who has experienced a panic attack would probably disagree with you on that... Xanax is addictive and very harmful if you abuse it but, in the event of severe anxiety and panic attacks it is still a medication prescribed to HELP relieve your anxiety, whatever the cause, be it alcohol hangover or personal stress, that's what I am most conserned with NOT the amount of peoples drinking.
Avatar m tn s dangerous, it can put you in a precarious position to become a victim of a crime, or of an injury or health consequences. Plus, if you are prone to anxiety or depression, alcohol will exacerbate those symptoms dramatically, sometimes for DAYS after a drinking binge. I would caution you to either stay away from alcohol (not to mention people who would knowingly give others a drug without telling them FIRST), or only drink in moderation.
Avatar f tn I have trouble with alcohol because it usually will set off a migraine. However, as far as the MS symptoms go, it makes my already poor balance problems ten times worse. That being said, I still will enjoy a glass of wine or an alcoholic drink from time to time, when I don't care about the balance issues and take my chances with getting a migraine (sometimes after a long time of not getting migraines, a drink won't set it off).
