648439 tn?1225058862 I treated with 1200 Riba daily and 180 mg interferon weekly with Pegasus. I was cured with this short treatment. I live in NZ and the doctors here allow patients to stop if they fulfill the strictest criteria for stopping early. It worked for me, so good luck to those of you who are considering the same option.
Avatar m tn Maybe you were trying to be diplomatic or play it safe but the facts suggest that your statement was flat out wrong. Alcohol has NEVER been shown to play ANY role in HCV reactivation.
10476455 tn?1423121400 I say of you're afraid of alcohol getting into your milk, I would pump it before you decide to have some drinks :) Breastfeeding helps you lose weight. And your boobs will sag regardless of what you do.
Avatar m tn Over the last 3-4 weeks I have developed slight persistant numbness/weakness in my left pinky and half of my left ring finger nearest the pinky, this is constant and also sporadic numbness/weakness in my feet (usually the top of the foot) and right hand during sleep. This tends to wake up, I can then 'shake out' this numbness/weakness and go back to sleep but not after lying there for a while wondering what is going on. I have been on a round the world trip for the last 9 months.
Avatar f tn Just thought I would let you all know for future reference if there are any sufferers in NZ, that I saw Dr Andrew Law yesterday, and found him to be excellent in every way. He has a good understanding of Chiari, Syrinx, Spina Bifida, amongst other things and was very helpful to me. He's very experienced (I did some homework!) and a really down to earth guy who takes a patient seriously.
Avatar m tn I cam back from trip to NZ two and a half years ago with what i though was a tummy bug. I ahve had every test under the sun 3 times. Stool sames fine, urine fine hormones fine. The only test that comes back abnormal is Liver function. I hae increased enzymes. I dont had hepatitis and the doctors are stuck with whats wrong. 466909 tn?1207568232 It's nobody's fault but mine that I'm an addict. If I didn't take Oxycontin, I would have found my addiction in the bottom of a bottle of alcohol or another substance. The fact is that Oxycontin, when used correctly and responsibly, helps millions of people with chronic pain live normal lives. It's selfish addictive thinking that makes my addiction more important than their quality of life.
Avatar f tn What are some important MUST KNOW baby facts that a first time mom needs to remember for when their child comes?
Avatar f tn I am not too familiar with blood alcohol, but I would think that maybe you could have been dehydrated and that could have caused the reading. Try drinking more water next time.

1017452 tn?1254904998 I'm a prime example of cross addiction. I would get sober and clean just to relapse on something different...a different drug, or alcohol. Cross addiction is common for those that do not get to the root of their disease. This time around I am seeing a recovery coach, I have a sponsor and I go to both AA and NA meetings. As the NA book says, "alcohol is a drug.
Avatar f tn Apparently the naltrexone/naloxone disrupts the absorbtion of alcohol into the bloodstream and she could not ever feel the effects of the alcohol. I have also read of a treatment for alcoholics where they are prescibed daily doses of naltrexone for this reason. To prevent them feeling any "beneficial effects"of alcohol. I hope this helps to answer your question.
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed as having high blood pressure and because of this my contraception pill has been changed, which I am unhappy about because of side effects etc. I am 40 and consider myself extremely healthy, I don't drink alcohol, don't smoke, eat well and I train 5 times a week for triathlons including weights and yoga. My weight is at the high end of normal but I am quite muscle bound in my calves and upper arms.

148588 tn?1465778809 There are so many different studies and opinions on this issue, I don't think it will ever be resolved... We all know that study data can be skewed any way one wants to skew it, in order to come up with the preferred results. By the way, the video in the link I posted is exactly the same as the video in the original post.
Avatar m tn He lives on the Gold Coast, Australia, Im in NZ and want to know what to suggest. He will try get a doctors apt but its kinda urgent and being a new NZ person working in Aust, it may cost him hundreds of $ to even see a doctor…can he get a treatment over the counter in Aust?
2109562 tn?1347253848 If they're irregular, it's possible she's not even the whole 3 months along, which would kind of help because the sooner you quit the better. However, she won't know until the doc appt and shouldn't stress too much about it. What's done is done and cannot be reversed. There's no hard facts on small amounts of liquor because they can't really study it to say ok stop, this much more and your baby will have FAS.
Avatar n tn Hi... I had a protected sex with a girl in Massage Parlour in NZ. Here in NZ, parlours offer safe sex. So we have protected varginal sex for about 5 min. There was no kissing at all with the girl. Then I left the place. After that I have been fearing to get some STD's like HIV, Chlamydia etc from that single encounter. Please help me regarding this. . . . I am quite worried these days . . .
Avatar f tn actually drinking alcohol helps lower your sugar levels because even though alcohol has carbs the sugar does not get into your system because of the alcohol.. so i say, if your gonna have a shake, make sure to drink a bit before and a lil after... or like when my numbers were in 400's one weekend cause of a cookout, i drank a little and they went to 110 :) so just drink when you wanna help your numbers..
