Avatar n tn I am in otherwise great health and actually comptete in division one college tennis for the college of charleston. Before now I had been drinking at college as does almost every other college student. But, I am a good student (4.0) and consequently I dont drink near everynight, and with all my school work, it pretty much just boils down to the weekends. But when I did drink on the weekends, it was nice to be out with my friends and I did drink fairly heavily.

441506 tn?1267533765 d encourage her to be careful with the Xanax in particular. That is scheduled and with college students---- you want to make sure she'd not do anything like drink alcohol with it, etc. Zoloft is a great medication and does help a good deal with anxiety. Taking it slowly to get started helps keep the start up side effects to be less. These medications can have some side effects in the begining and they go away rather quickly as the drug gets up and running in the body.
Avatar m tn That's an awful broad brush to tar all 'college students' with pardner, just because a few students on one campus are idiots. I know at UT Austin the Liberal students would be horrified and would argue with his bigoted @$$ until they realized he was a put on, while the conservative students would simply whack him over the head with his clipboard.
Avatar f tn Are you in sports? Calories for college students vary because of differences in physical activity. Make sure your diet is mostly whole foods including low-fat dairy, whole-grains, lean protein, fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts and healthy oils. Don't skip breakfast. Don't get in the habit of staying up late, then rush to get to class. You need food to get your metabolism up, your energy levels will be low and you'll be starving and likely to overeat by lunch.

White House spokesman Luis Miranda said the administration welcomes any opportunity for Congress to take up the proposal. The legislation "is important to both our national security and our economy," Miranda said. Meanwhile, retiring Republican Florida Rep.
Avatar f tn Jerry Brown signed a law Monday easing access to privately funded financial aid for undocumented college students. He also signaled that he was likely to back a more controversial measure allowing those students to seek state-funded tuition aid in the future. Assemblyman Gil Cedillo (D-Los Angeles), author of the private financial aid measure, described it as an important but incremental step toward expanding opportunities for deserving students who were brought to the U.S.
148588 tn?1465778809 Did you assume my comment had anything to do with kids going to college? I was talking about something that I see our country can improve upon. Many other countries put resources into helping their young people find the right direction for themselves and we could do more of that. Teko, actually I think you put that very well and would agree regarding student loans. The rate shouldn't be higher than banks. That makes no sense.
Avatar n tn All of them were also college students. I was tested about two years ago for STDs and HIV. All were negative except Gonorrhea. I've been pretty healthy these past two years except for some reoccuring yeast infections and what seemed like a semester of diarrhea which could have been due to stress I suppose. I am scared to death to get tested because I feel like it will be positive. What do you think my probability is? Any thoughts Teak?
Avatar f tn Fortunately, every college will have an office that handles arranging additional supports for students who need them. Contact the college admissions office, explain your situation, and they can direct you to the appropriate people tot talk to. If you're living at home, a local community college might be a great option and they will also have an office in charge of making sure that students like you recieve needed support.
Avatar n tn So I'm an 18 year-old college student, and like most college students, I drink. I actually drink a lot, but I know it's not an alcoholism issue because I can give it up for weeks at a time and it's purely social. Anyway...I've been having liver pains for the past few days. I know that sounds strange, but basically there is a lot of tenderness exactly where my liver is. It not a sharp pain or anything...it's really just tender.
973741 tn?1342342773 I'm not sure how I feel about all the "free" college tuition, etc... we all know free isn't really free because somebody has to pay for it but we also know that our kids are the future and they need an education but many of them can't afford to get through high school, let alone a college or university.

Avatar m tn Hello. The first few times you're experimentally sexually with a partner can create lots of anxiety, which is the enemy of good sex. And, of course, alcohol will only intensify this reaction. It's time to take the pressure off yourself. Talk to your girlfriend about being together sexually and just playing. No pressure to have penis-vagina sex, just pleasuring and touching. Let yourself relax and just enjoy the sensations.
Avatar m tn I had visible genital warts and had Pap test result of Class II smear ASCUS - negative for malignancy last June 2012. Repeated PAp February 2013 with Class I result - normal. Cleared of warts for about 3months. Dated again and in a new relationship. Had sex once - unprotected. The next day, I had recurrence of warts in an area that causes so much discomfort. Went again to my gynae - applied the same cream I used before, aldara. My concerns: 1) Have I put my bf at risk of getting hpv as well?
Avatar m tn Does anyone have reference to any studies done on POST treatment alcohol consumption or know anyone who consumed alcohol POST treatment who had only stage 1 slight liver damage? I'm NOT refering to someone with active Hep C or major liver damage. I'm also aware that too much alcohol is not a good thing. I know what opinions people have, I'm looking for facts or personal experiences. Once TX is over either the HCV is gone (cured) or it's not, is that not correct?
