Avatar n tn I am looking for information and transmission facts and statistics relating to partners who both have HSV-1 orally and one has HSV-2 genitally. Although I know that the chances of spreading HSV-1 to eithers genitals is extremely low, is there any numbers out there on this? Also on the transmission of HSV-2 to the mouth of someone who already has HSV-1? Thanks in advance.
Avatar m tn someone please help me with statistics , numbers , facts any thing solid that I can use to kill the negative thoughts invading me day and night. i am in the 1st week after encounter and the window period is going to take 3 months :( God help us all.
Tbd By the way, the only reason I mentioned this at all is that "fun with statistics" is so prevalent in today's society. Important to remember that statistics don't represent facts, they are one argument for a position. They are very difficult to get right, and impossible for others to know if the study was done correctly or for a purpose and therefore skewed. You can use statistics to prove almost anything if you want to.
Avatar m tn d be putting a strain on them to process the alcohol, possibly leading to unnecessary inflammation. Less damage, more healthy cells and less strain on that healthy part from alcohol and other toxins. Like Frank, I can't really imagine going back to old habits like drinking regularly. I have become a true 'social drinker'. The rare glass of wine at a dinner or wedding, but no more visits to the wine aisle in the store, ever.
649848 tn?1534633700 Facts and statistics are often cherry-picked to present a “narrative” that all white people are racist and all blacks are victimized by whites. These statistics suggest this is a biased view that serves only to exacerbate racial tensions. Human beings should be presumed innocent until proven guilty and should not be lumped into categories that make them appear guilty of committing some crime that in many cases they had nothing to do with.
Avatar f tn Its great that he quit smoking! He should not drink alcohol. Beer is really high in carbs and will elevate blood sugar tremendously. Ans as the other poster said, it will be very hard on kidneys. I agree that denial of diabetes is a really big factor with people at times!
10476455 tn?1423121400 Pumping and dumping doesn't work, the alcohol that shows up in your milk is directly related to the alcohol in your blood stream. No amount of pumping will make it come out faster than your body normally metabolizes (which is roughly one drink per hour) with that being said the alcohol in your milk is the same as that in you blood stream, not in your drink. If you have one glass of wine your breast milk will not be 12% alcohol like the wine was. It will be about 0.
1621722 tn?1333050499 Welcome to the forum. None of us are qualified to give you any sort of diagnosis, especially online. If you're using alcohol as a way to deal with anxiety and depression, you could be heading down a slippery slope. It already sounds as though you need to figure out exactly how bad your "problem" with alcohol is...and the sooner the better, before it gets any worse.
Avatar n tn I have a history of anxiety and OCD, and since the incident have been obsessively checking forums and online groups about the likelihood of HIV, and even contemplating how I would tell people / whether I would kill myself if I were to be diagnosed as HIV +. The man who I met told me repeatedly that he is clean, but has since refused to return my contact because I've been such an anxious mess and asked him multiple times to confirm his status with proof.
Avatar m tn I have been on several websites in reference to my concern, and the statistics are killing me. "Low risk" is not low enough. I engaged in receptive oral sex a few times, for about a minute or two each time, and I'm unsure as to whether or not pre-cum was present during any of the times.
Avatar m tn Although alcohol does affect ferility, I don't think this would be a huge problem right now. I would, however, strongly suggest having her go to her obgyn and getting a full check up. It's better to know up front if there could be any problems and what you guys should or should not be doing.
Avatar m tn No incident HIV infections among MSM who practice exclusively oral sex. Int Conf AIDS 2004 Jul 11-16; 15:(abstract no. Avatar f tn I had only pecked him, No French kissing but I did feel a lip and the tip of my tongue get a little wet. I know his teeth were still bleeding because when he spit I saw blood. Can I get hiv from this incident? Should I start pep. I do not have any sore in my mouth or on my lips but my lips are chapped. Please let me know!
Avatar m tn An HIV test will not detect the presence of the HIV virus immediately after exposure. Statistics show that 96% (perhaps higher) of all infected individuals will test positive within 2 to 12 weeks. In some cases, this may take up to six months." http://www.aids.org/info/testing.
Avatar n tn Thanks again, but reading medical journals actually puts, contracting HIV form 1/500 to 1/2000 depending on the sexual act performed (unprotected). I am using worse case scenarios. Also that HIV transmission is 5 times more effective when one other person has another STD. So please tell me how you got the 1/20000, which sounds good to me, but considering I work in a mathematical field I need it justified.
Avatar m tn I am a 40 year old male and despite my good efforts, I got a pretty serious sunburn on my back and scalp this last weekend. Here is a brief sunburn history....as a child my parents rarely if ever put sunscreen on me so you can imagine how much sun I was exposed to since I loved being outside. There were several significant sunburns on trips to the beach during this time...but I probably was tan a lot of the time...
Avatar f tn Totally agree and I think we all know that alcohol, in excess, can harm a foetus. I'm not saying by any means that you should make a point of drinking, but within limits I think it's OK - hey, you've just got to be a bit adult and responsible about it... but hopefully we're that anyway seeing as we're grown women and want to bring another little life into the world.
Avatar m tn I definitely agree I wasn't asking to justify not using condoms I was just trying to understand for myself when sometimes condoms break the doctors still say little to no risk in some of the answers. I grew up terrified that I'm going to get infected and I'm trying to shake the phobia through facts.
Avatar n tn Go out and have a great time. I personally have had no issues with alcohol since in recovery. I had 2 beers once, a sip and poured it out another time. I can see how the above could ring true, however each person is an individual. Statistics are a basis to apply a theory and nothing in life is guaranteed. Have a blast and stay safe.
Avatar m tn go to the doctor, and be careful. college is where many find out about alcohol poisoning first hand, and yes it can kill you.
Avatar n tn I understand that the half-life of naproxen in the body is 12-17 hours. My question involves something I haven't found in other forums. When does it become safe to consume alcohol after taking an NSAID such as naproxen? If I take 1 unit of naproxen at 7:00 PM on Thursday, can I drink at 7:00 PM on Friday even though, according to the half-life, there is still about one-third the amount of naproxen in my system?
