Avatar n tn prichard16 - yes, the types of calories makes a difference. While I agree with caregiver222, that 1000 calories is 1000 calories; if you make that 1000 calories a mix of fruits, veggies, dairy, lean meats, nuts, etc --- you will be much healthier and more likely to lose weight than if you get that 1000 calories from 5 candy bars (200 calories/each) throughout the day........... there's a huge difference........
Avatar f tn t count calories. I plan my meals with the food guide as I mentioned, as well as portions, food groups etc. Counting calories in my opinion wouldn't make you lose weight and you have to be careful to lose the weight safely. Good luck, Marcy.
Avatar f tn I weigh 100 pounds and sometimes act with eating disordered behaviors, such as vomiting after I eat mostly because I felt sick. Starving myself is another thing I often do because I don't feel hungry. I occasionaly use laxatives because I feel I have ate too much and will need help getting it out. The problem is I often don't feel well when I eat. On my most fat days consume about 3,000 calories. On some days I consume as little as only 200 calories.
Avatar f tn If you go over your calorie limit does it give you less calories till you make up the calories you over ate because I had like 500 calories but I over ate a few times and now it says 300 something
397560 tn?1220022177 My question is where can I find a book or something that tells me how many calories do I need a day and hpw many calories i take in every time I eat something? Thank you for your replies.
Avatar f tn Thanks so much that helped a lot :)
Avatar f tn i'm 16, 5'6" and 107 pounds and i eat about 800/900 calories a day....im 15% body fat...and i feel gross. but it's weird. sometimes i feel too skinny and bony and weak and i want to be stronger, but other times i feel too squishy and no toned. why can't i lose weight? i feel hungry all the time....changing topics....could limiting calories like this stop me from growing any taller?
172023 tn?1334672284 I guess I was wondering overall -- between the sugar and the calories -- if it's a healthy food to eat. I see cranberry snack trail mix, cranberries dried up for salads, cranberry in capsule form, and cranberries as traditional Thanksgiving Day side dish. I cannot indulge in cranberries because of kidney stones which are calicum oxalate .. apparently cranberries are very high in oxalates, yet cranberries are extremely good for your urinary tract health.
Avatar f tn Yes like Skailark said, 572 calories is WAY too low. That's essentially starving yourself so no, you definitely cannot eat that little. I think you should focus more on eating *real* food rather than worrying about how to consume virtually no fat. Certain fats are good for you and necessary for good health.
Avatar m tn So my question is how do I measure how much calories my food has? Some basic ones I can Google and get an idea.. But...
Avatar f tn Remember, it takes 3,500 calorie deficit or increase in burned calories through exercise to lose 1 lb. If you lower calories by 500 per day and increase exercise to burn 250-500 calories per day .. you should lose 1 1/2 to 2 lbs per week, which is what is recommended for healthy weight loss. Remember .. there will be weeks when you lose more and weeks you lose less as you plateau and your body tries to protect you from starvation and wonders what you are doing.
Avatar n tn I think that ES hit the nail on the head. I can see this scenario ... Assume a person were eating 2000 calories a day and running high BGs because s/he didn't get the right balance of insulin, calories, exercise. Those high BGs mean that some portion of those calories were, in essence, pee'd out. Let's assume it's 200 calories a day that were eaten and not available to the body for fuel or for storage.
4499225 tn?1396068663 24 kcals = 1oz, plus all of the other values are incorrect as well. Using the website the food information seems to be correct for the same food.
Avatar f tn If weight watchers (a very low calorie eating plan) worked in the past, chances are, you are currently eating too many calories and need to cut back on the calories and increase your exercise. As much as I hate to hear it and say it.....it is calories in vs calories out. Maybe consider joining weight watchers again if that has worked in the past. Good Luck!
Avatar f tn High intensity training will get you to your goal weight faster than just eating less because you could be eating fast food for all I know, so less calories to you means what? One less meal ? Just eat clean and exercise daily. You will feel better and look better.
193609 tn?1292180293 Losing weight is really just a simple math equation and comes down to calories in vs calories out. In order to lose weight, you have to burn more than you consume. People lose weight on low carb diets because whether or not they realize it, they're consuming less calories. High carb foods (cereal, potatoes, rice, pasta, sugary snacks) tend to be quite calorie dense so a very modest portion can end up being pretty caloric.
1332403 tn?1278859824 In the end, calories are calories, no matter how you take them in. But it is easier to consumer too many calories quickly if you eat a lot of higher fat foods. Food diaries are a well-supported way to get people thinking more objectively about what they are eating/drinking.
10538711 tn?1443571442 In order to lose weekly weight you must make daily sacrifices like cutting calories from food and burning more calories with exercise. Accomplish your ideal physique by being realistic about your capabilities while also setting healthy and achievable weight-loss goals. Begin by calculating the calories you need to give up each day in order to reach your final goal.
748902 tn?1286034758 I feel like I will have eaten a mountain of food by the end of the day, but it only comes to 1233 calories, is this ok?
Avatar f tn Definitely do not go below 1400, because you will have difficulty meeting your basic nutritional needs on that small amount of food. Even at 1400 calories, you will have to eat very, very carefully to get good nutrition. In addition, 1400 calories is too low a level of daily caloric intake for most people to voluntarily maintain it long term. If you are like most people, you will get too hungry. So I would do something more realistic, like 2000 calories a day.
