535822 tn?1443976780 I have'nt had Irish coffee in years, we used to pour the cream after whipping the air into it over a spoon in the glass to stop it breaking, do you do that maybe I will make them this year .
Avatar f tn You surely should not drink any alcohol at all while taking pain medication, or any medication for that matter.
2207301 tn?1340990867 If you're BFing you have to pump and dump, and will also need to pump ahead of time to have milk stored for when you're not able to feed him. Alcohol goes into the milk and doesn't disperse like it does it our body, so just waiting a few hours won't get rid of it. It's best if your BFing to just not have alcohol at all. Your baby gets the same thing you drink, and I doubt I need to tell you how dangerous that is.
Avatar n tn prichard16 - yes, the types of calories makes a difference. While I agree with caregiver222, that 1000 calories is 1000 calories; if you make that 1000 calories a mix of fruits, veggies, dairy, lean meats, nuts, etc --- you will be much healthier and more likely to lose weight than if you get that 1000 calories from 5 candy bars (200 calories/each) throughout the day........... there's a huge difference........
Avatar n tn So let me ask this....if a man consumes drugs and alcohol would the ingredients of the drugs and alcohol be present in the womans urine analysis after she consumes his sperm?
362249 tn?1441315018 Alcohol can trick you. It has calories so must be taken into account in your daily caloric counts but it does dehydrate you. Providing you don't drink alcohol the next day you will rehydrate and be back where you should be providing you didn't immensely go over your calorie intake. I just count it as it is since I weigh in daily.
1555116 tn?1294483683 If weight loss comes about by burning more than you eat, how can this be possible, especially on such a healthy diet and exercise plan, and particularly without all those alcohol calories? Any help anyone could give would be very much appreciated.
Avatar f tn t even look at carbs the same way anymore! You can even pass up potato chips. I read an article about alcohol in a diet. It faulted alcohol for being even easier to burn than carbs, so your body stores all your food and burns the alcohol instead, hence the "beer belly". Alcohol, as well as other high carb foods also make you crave more alcohol and high carb foods- a terrible cycle to fall into either way.
1150573 tn?1261964987 I think Kahlua had a low # & now has a 2yr old............ Keep the Faith & pray for #'s doubling. I so hope this is it for you.........
397560 tn?1220022177 My question is where can I find a book or something that tells me how many calories do I need a day and hpw many calories i take in every time I eat something? Thank you for your replies.
Avatar m tn What are triglycerides? Triglycerides are a type of fat found in your blood. When you eat, your body converts any calories it doesn't need to use right away into triglycerides. The triglycerides are stored in your fat cells. Later, hormones release triglycerides for energy between meals. If you regularly eat more calories than you burn, you may have high triglycerides (hypertriglyceridemia). What's the difference between triglycerides and cholesterol?
Avatar f tn t use alcohol, drugs, or even much soda pop as those are worthless calories.
Avatar f tn Hi, the cholesterol and LDL values are raised. I can give the following suggestions.Reduce the total fat content of your diet to <30% of calories. Of which of saturated fat<10% of calories, polyunsaturated fat <10% of calories and mono unsaturated fat <10% of calories. Increased dietary intake of fiber rich foods like oat bran will help. Diet should be rich in antioxidant vitamins found primarily in fruits and vegetables. Reduce energy intake to achieve ideal body weight.
Avatar f tn d have to drop 500 calories from your BMR each day (1 lb is equal to 3500 calories, so 500 calories X 7 days = 3500 calories or 1 lb). OR you can drop 250 calories from your diet and increase exercise to use an additional 250 calories. Changing up calorie counts and exercises will help prevent plateau.
Avatar m tn If you are really only eating 800 calories/day, you're basically on a starvation diet. It's recommended that women never go below 1200 calories/day. Are you only eating carbs, whether starchy or not? Actually, starchy carbs, such as corn, peas, white potatoes, white rice, flour, etc should be avoided, or severely limited.
Avatar m tn Depends on which meals you are eating. If you're eating breakfast and lunch, but little in the evening, it might work. But as sechmeth said, it also depends on WHAT you're eating and the amounts. If you cut calories too much, your body will go into starvation mode; however, you have to cut calories a little bit (usually, by around 500/day) in order to lose weight.
Avatar f tn Add an additional 200 calories if you are breast feeding after the baby is born, total 2300 calories daily. This will keep you healthy and baby will grow for both pregnancy and breastfeeding. The recommendations for pregnant women are to avoid consuming alcohol drinks of any form (including wine, & beer), and caffeine drinks (drink non-caffeine coffee & teas).
Avatar f tn so my dog, Kahlua, gave birth last night, to one pup, I did not even know she was pregnant. Is it normal to have one pup, or do you think maybe she had more and something happened to them?
649848 tn?1534633700 In that sense, sugar is like alcohol. It’s got calories, but it’s not nutrition. There’s no biochemical reaction that requires it. And at high doses, alcohol can fry your liver. Same with sugar. Fructose, the sweet molecule in sugar, contains calories that you can burn for energy, but it’s not nutrition, because there’s no biochemical reaction that requires it. In excess, it can fry your liver, just like alcohol. And this makes sense, because where do you get alcohol from?
