Albuterol proventil

Common Questions and Answers about Albuterol proventil

advair

Avatar n tn Proventil (albuterol) has a low pH that encourages the growth of (Candida albicans (yeast). When this happens in your mouth it is called thrush. . Rinsing your mouth with water raises the pH, making the environment inhospitable to candida. Thrush causes dry mouth and can create sores, making eating painful.
Avatar f tn I was having a hard time breathing 2 nights ago and decided to try my daughters albuterol inhaler. I used 5 puffs over a 24 hour period. I dont know why but I assumed it was harmless to use while pregnant. Now im looking online and see its a class C! Im nervous I may have done harm to baby. Anyone else use albuterol while pregnant first trimester?
Avatar f tn I have been using albuterol inhalers for 18 years now, since being diagnosed with asthma. Since they changed the inhalers recently to no CFC's (yes, I care about the environment, but...) can they come up with a decent inhaler that doesn't clog up at the tip? I have to take out the cannister of my Proventil and put it in the holder for another inhaler. Makes me mad since I do not have insurance and it is a $54 inhaler.
Avatar m tn The proventil (albuterol) will have only limited effect, as what you are experiencing is NOT medically an allergic reaction, but an irritation and inflamation of your lungs. The Asmanex and Advair will make your lungs less reactive, if taken over a period of time, but you will always react if you are around your trigger. They will NOT stop an episode of bad breathing, once it has begun.
Avatar m tn I was wondering if anyone has experienced or heard of what I call "conversation-induced" asthma? I have seen a bit of information on laughter-induced asthma and suffer from exercise-induced asthma but can't find anything about asthma that comes on from simple talking. I usually begin to feel chest tightness and hoarseness if I am talking for more than 5-10 minutes. I begin producing mucous and albuterol does offer some relief.
Avatar f tn So they gave me an inhaler of Albuterol (sp?) and sent me home. I used that a couple times the next day. It would help open up my airways for about 5 minutes and then I would be short of breath again and unable to take a deep breath. I called the doctors office and they gave me another inhaler of Advair. I have been using that for two days now and I am able to take deep breaths. My chest doesn't hurt or feel tight anymore. However, my throat still feels like it's closing up.
Avatar n tn These include caffeine, pseudoephedrine (Sudafed), amphetamines, and the asthma bronchodilators albuterol/salbutamol (e.g. Proventil, Combivent, Ventolin).” In your case probably caffeine is the culprit alonf with stress. Refer: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fasciculation Once you cut down your caffeine and build up your lost iron by taking iron tablets and iron rich diet, you’ll be ok. Here is a link for you to go through for a complete list of iron rich food. http://www.loveyourbaby.
Avatar f tn I am on Plaquenil 400mg Metoprolol Tartrate 50mg BID, Proventil HFA 2puffs every 4 hours, Flovent Diskus 250mcg (started one week ago), Nasonex, Augmentin 875 BID. I have had no problems with my cardio selective Beta Blocker prior to catching this cold. My peak flows are still in the High Yellow Zone and I am maxing out on my rescue inhaler and I haven't been on the Flonase long enough to provide control. But I am not wheezing...just stuck in the yellow zone anywhere from 360-390...
Avatar n tn It sound like you suffer from E.I.B. (Exercise induced bronchospasm). One of the main symptoms is "Unusual Fatigue with Exercise" which can last minutes or up to many hours afterwords. Basically, the lungs are not getting the amount of air needed to feed the muscles the oxygen they need. Most people with asthma have this, but many without asthma suffer from this as well. The good news is, that if this is the problem, it is easy to "fix".
Avatar n tn There I was diagnosed with bronchitis and given a Z-Pac antibiotic, a Proventil inhaler, albuterol in a nebulizer and prednisone tablets. After finishing these medications I felt slightly better but still very weak, achy, no energy. I returned to my regular dr on the next visit and rales were heard in my chest with ear pain, headaches. My diagnosis was then bronchitis that turned into pneumonia, double ear infection, sinus infection.
Avatar n tn I was told that one of these breathers cannot be used with Proventil. Please tell me if it is Advair or Spiriva. I can't remember which one the doctor told me.
Avatar n tn Do you also have a rescue medication? Some for of albuterol - ProAir, Proventil, Maxair, Ventolin, Xopenex and a few others. This is a necessity for when you have the shortness of breath (sob) feeling. Did the hospital tell you what to do about your potassium level? If you do not get that up, you could start having leg cramps. Advair and Symbicort can cause potassium and calcium levels to drop causing cramps. Take care and feel better.
Avatar n tn I take xanax for anxiety, I also have asthma. Can I take proventil with xanax? Also I heard Prozac is good for gettting off of xanax without withdrawl symtoms, is that true?
Avatar f tn In July I thought I was having allergy problems. Turned out to be pneumonia. I thought I was ok after meds. Then I had a really bad asthma attack. I did not know what was happening. Really bad coughing and hard to breathe. Went to ER and they gave me breathing meds. I saw an allergist yesterday and he put me on Adviair and Proair. I haven't had the Proair prescriptioin filled yet as I still have proventil. Sorry to ramble on.
524945 tn?1212376514 I have used many different inhalers and found that some work better than others and agree with me better. I use an albuterol type. Most of the time I can walk away and it will reverse over the next 5-10 minutes. Sometimes it will keep getting worst. My inhaler has always fixed me up. :) Yes they help. If your problem is vocal chord related the inhalers might not help, but I found that Proventil inhaler relaxes my vocal chords too so I got lucky. I have no idea how it will work on you.
1580703 tn?1651904887 I was diagnosed with acute asthma last year and have been on symbicort/proventil for months, also singulair and took prednisone and methylprenisolone and I am still having breathing problems and chest tightness. taking some HC lately helped me breathe better and relax but still having breathing problems today. can you please help me??
Avatar f tn Is he taking Albuterol as I do - during asthma season? That stuff even makes calm little me into a nutty wiggle worm- I have seen the most well mannered children climb the walls on Albuterol (Proventil) to the point where we as parents, we'll even give one last look at the spoon full of medicine and ask "IS it worth it?" He will surely go nuts" I had to give it to my child a few times and YES it is worth it because he breathes better and he feels better in the long run.
Avatar f tn of vitamin B5, plus mullein extract, and MSM daily. B5 will also counteract the drying quality of albuterol. There are absolutely no side effects. I got off Advair because of very serious side effects which actually made my breathing worse. Symbicort is probably just as bad. They are steroids that throw your adrenals out of whack. Because of Advair I suffered serious adrenal fatigue which I am being treated for. Stick to natural whenever you can.
Avatar m tn Thanks for all the feedback, everyone. I think everyone is hitting on key points with Primatene. Epinephrine is an inhaled adrenaline. You don't get the same adrenaline rush as if you injected it as not a lot of it gets into your blood stream. It is incredibly effective at opening your lungs up, though. Anyway, I've been on QVAR as a maintenance and Proventil as a rescue since I made the initial post and I don't feel the need for Primatene anymore.
Avatar f tn Proventil is short-acting. If you forget to take it you might wheeze - or you might not. The schedule, as such, is not that important. Keeping yourself free of symptoms is. So if you forget to use the inhaler, and start to wheeze, then take a treatment, whether or not it is according to schedule. What confuses me is that inhalers are usually used on an as-needed basis, in any case.
Avatar m tn Could be some gall bladder pain, dont eat late stick to low fat meals , it could also be a pulled muscle if you have started weight training ..
Avatar n tn Albuterol is a bronchodilator used to treat many of the same issues as Flovent, but it can also be used to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Albuterol comes in a syrup, tablet, or as a suspension in an inhaler. Albuterol works by causing the passages to the lung to relax and open, which makes breathing easier.
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with an exercise induced asthma and prescribed a 90 mcg albuterol inhaler. I didn't use it much as I was fine most of the time. But just recently I have been having to use my inhaler every few hours or so because if I don't I get really short breathed. I don't know what's going on and it's worrying me.

Avatar f tn Just wondering if anyone here uses an albuterol inhaler and are they safe to use during pregnancy? I use one every now and then but not on a daily basis. I'm only 5 weeks along. I used mine tonight because I felt like I absolutely had to.
