is it okay to use albuterol sulfate inhalation solution .083 % even if its out of code? I have real bad asthma and I got a serve cold and cant afford to go to doctor.

He went to the doctor last week and he only prescribed a cough med even though he said he heard a wheeze at the end of the expiration. Now, my 5 year old has gotten it again, same cough,-it is worse during the night with her coughing so long and hard that she has tears in her eyes. She may even have a low grade fever, but again only at night. Is this just a virus going around?

Most everything lasts a while past expiration before deterioration, including food. Expiration dates have a margin of safety built in. That being said, the above is true, but vitamins usually have way more that anyone needs in them so a little deterioration in potency isn't that big a deal depending on why you're taking them. After all, much of them just goes down the toilet anyway, so again, a margin of safety is built in there, too.

There should be an expiration date on the package--if its expired then I would not use it; pesticides can break down and become less effective or more toxic with time.

These were precribed to me but I noticed the bottle expiration date is 10/2008. I have almost full bottles so I haven't thrown them out. Can I consider these safe? My husband says yes.

You may want to check and see if there is an expiration date. Even if the expiration date is past, there are still okay to use as the expiration date is for the packaging. Good luck.

Just wondering if anyone here uses an albuterol inhaler and are they safe to use during pregnancy? I use one every now and then but not on a daily basis. I'm only 5 weeks along. I used mine tonight because I felt like I absolutely had to.

I have asthma and have been having a hard time breathing these past two days but really bad tonight.. I just used my albuterol and I'm so scared its going to hurt my baby. Are you sure she had a reaction to albuterol? I can easily see the steroid as the culprit, but albuterol surprises me. Of course, if you overuse it you will get a fast heart beat, but in moderate amounts it is usually OK. I use it and I also take an antihistamine.

Everyone says they know someone who knows someone that something bad happened to :P. As my OB said if you can't breath your baby can't breath. I used albuterol inhale and singular to control my asthma both deemed safe. My daughter has no defects she is perfectly healthy 7.

I would question the fact that the pharmacist chose to ignore an expiration date, I don't think they just pull expiration dates out of the air,thet are there for a reason, it is not legal to sell a medication beyond an expiration date, I don't know why you would be advised to ingest one and have it be effective? He may be confusing a synthetic with a desicated medication, it could be synthetics have a longer shel life, but I would not use any that are expired, even over the counter meds.

Is an unopened bottle of Systane that's 1.5 years past its expiration date safe to use? At least until I can get to the store for a fresh bottle?

So I just noticed that my last two packs of pills have the expiration date of 7/2009. Im supposed to start one of the packs this sunday, and that means I will be taking 4 days of expired pills (the first four days of July). Will this be risky? I called planned parenthood and they said I would be fine...and that I can't come in and get new packs since I have two...I'm a little scared these pills won't work since its so close to the expiration date!!

This is used as an alternative to Albuterol if the side effects are severe with Albuterol. This could also be used in conjunction with Albuterol, to relieve acute flare ups of Asthma. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

We are currently using an albuterol inhaler 15 min before his matches, also a Flovent inhaler twice a day, and have recently started taking singulair. Thus far these have not worked. Please help with any suggestions you may have...we are desperate to help our son succeed in the sport he loves.

Is there a significant difference between using an albuterol inhaler as opposed to a Combivent inhaler? I have a family member that receives an extra monthly Combivent inhaler but am not sure if it is safe to use long term instead of the albuterol I was prescribed.

Has anyone taken their albuterol inhaler thru out ur pregnancy??? I'm a bit worried if it is safe for my baby! I been taking it since it's the only thing I can take when I can't breath. I just need some re assurance that it is safe & wondering if any1 else pregnant & taking albuterol inhaler.
