Avatar f tn During her stay at parkland she was diagnosed with tuberculosis, she got meningitis, that cryptocuccus bacteria, a stool disease, kaposi sarcoma, all the stuff AIDS Related. She passed 10/31/2009 at midnight of end stage AIDS. After her death another worry began. Did I have aids? Did my 3 year old have it as well? See, my mama and I were very close we shared eye liner, loofahs, almost everything. My daughter would bite her and make her bleed. We shared it all.
Avatar m tn Hello Dr. HHH or Hook I tested for HIV at the Dallas County Health and Human Services Department. It was a Rapid HIV test as well as a Nucleic Acid Test for the virus itself and I was tested for syphilis as well. All of my tests came back negative and this was 47 or 48 days after potential exposure. I made sure to ask whether the testing facility re-uses needles/syringes and I was assured that they do not.
Avatar f tn Does anybody knows any hospitals or facilities in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas that provides the MOTILITY test for esophagus? My G.I. Doctor is having a serious problem in locating a place that does this testing.

Avatar m tn This subject is discussed here ad nauseum. Anyone is free to decide for themselves when they feel comfortable testing. ON THIS FORUM, we adhere to the official guidelines, the doctors take a more liberal stance. Dr. HHH often posts a few links to posts he's made that explains in detail about testing protocols, and why they give the advice THEY do, and why we give the advice we do. They are a good read.
Avatar n tn I was re-hospitalized through the Veterans Hospital, Dallas, Texas and under went a gamut of in-patient testing to include Arterial Doppler, CT, MRI and other tests to rule out a stroke or TIA with the discharge diagnosis Visual Loss- TIA. During hospitalization the Neurologic Ophthalmologist confirmed the lack of damage to the eye but has not provided a prognosis nor has he given an exact diagnosis for the cause of blurred of vision in this eye.

Avatar m tn As of November 2009, 23,731 HIV/AIDS cases have been reported in the country (National HIV/AIDS Program of the Ministry of Health). The Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) estimates that in 2007, 35,000 Salvadorans were living with HIV (UNAIDS 2008 Report on the Global AIDS Epidemic). Incidence appears to have declined since 2004, but there is a fear that HIV/AIDS cases are underreported due to lack of an effective monitoring system.
Avatar n tn Thanks--just one last follow up question. From reading various posts--seems like some providers 1) aren't familiar with WB, 2) don't know how to order it, or 3) are just plain ignorant in ordering the test for you. I'm from the Dallas-Ft. Worth area--do you have any recommended providers there that I can go to where I won't have to deal with all the push-back? Also--is there an online testing service where I can order this?
Avatar m tn You had no HIV risk. You had protected sex no risk. You would of known for sure if your condom failed. Fingering no risk. Keep useing condoms and always be safe. No worries at all.

Avatar m tn I had an event at my school for AIDS awareness day yesterday and I thought it would be a good deed to society to get tested. I go to school in the Bronx in NY, and I went to one of the department of health's to get tested. It was not exactly the cleanest place in there and it was FILLED with people getting tested. This sounds really ironic but, my test came up negative but should i go get tested again in the next coming months from risk of getting HIV from the health department place?
