Very last question before I go to the doctor. In addition to the white lesions in my groin area, I have been getting thrush on my tongue about once every other month for the last 6-9 months including a current episode. When going through the various STD symptoms, I saw that frequent thrush was a symptom of aids as the immune system is weak. I don't have an explanation for the frequent thrush and I don't have a clue what the lesions in my groin are...are these symptoms for aids?

I have many of them left on my skin after being ill with aids in 2012. The kaposi is cured but some of the lesions have left brown pigment under the skin. They do not seem to fade anymore. Are there any treatment options that could work? Thank you very much!

Equally important, your description of yoru skin lesions is consistent with a number of skin conditions other than KS. And as you have been told, your exposure a year and half ago was low risk for HIV, if I correctly understand that it did not include penile-vaginal or penile-anal intercourse. Finally, I have to wonder why you are spending time and energy trying to figure this out on line. Presumably you have not had an HIV test, or you would have mentioned it.

I have noticed that the skin around my eyes has become green it is more noticable sometimes i also noticed that the skin underneath my eyes looks like its sagging. I know that symptoms never matter when diagnosing someone with hiv/aids. My last sexual encounter was 3 years ago (vaginal intercourse) i am a male. I also have a white coated tongue for 1 year and little red spots on my skin, not to many, that make skin itchy and i also feel like i have something sticky in my throte.

However you should not be worried about that unless you see lesions. Read the Expert STD forum for descriptions of symptoms. You should get in the habit of getting tested for all STDs including Herpes every year or six months, especially if you have multiple sex partners.

I think the purple spots around eyes in hiv are KS lesions with is a type of skin cancer, this would be a latent stage of hiv

I am worried that the shorts could have irritated the skin and her fluids might have gotton in by there or by the inside if the pinus. Conceivably herpes and HPV might be transmitted, but even those are low risk. I don't recommend getting tested for anything unless symptoms show up.

Looking at pics on the web it appears that most people have it on their back primarily? And Doctor, if you could weigh in, I'd feel a lot more at ease knowing that birthmarks are not symptoms of HIV/AIDS. Reason being, I read somewhere that as one's immune system is compromised with the disease, increasing numbers of birthmarks are possible?

Welcome to the forum. The title of your question indicates you have concluded your and your partner's pimple-like skin lesions are molluscum contagiosum. However, I doubt they are. MC of the upper body (face, trunk, etc) is very rare in adults; and when MC does appear in such locations in association with HIV, it is only in people with very advanced AIDS. If that's what you had, you and your partner would be deathly ill, with a large number of other symptoms.

Hi Yes, the lesions are the molluscum bumps .We use the term lesions generally for any skin growth or markings. It is very much a general terminology. I would not recommend peroxide or alcohol. They are abrasive and they would dry up the skin. The virus resides in the epithelium or the outermost layer of the skin. Your physician would remove the white substance and use cryotherapy or electrodessication to completely remove the 'lesions".

I will get tested at the appropriate 3 month mark, but do these symptoms sound herpetic? With absolutely no pain or other symptoms and redness/flaky skin?
