I just found out about 12 years ago my mate was unfaithful and i have gotten tested recently with an third generation eia antibody test hiv1/2 with reflexes, a rapid blood test, 4 oraquick home tests and all came back negative. But ive read ur post that some people with aids antibodies wont show on those tests. Im very scared that im in that stage and the tests i took arent sufficient enough to know for sure.

PCR was a waste of time and money, Get an antibody test at 6-8 weeks for a good indacation and follow up at 3 months for a conclusive test result.

I was exposed to HIV. I had a HIV antibody and antigen test 5 years later. ( Blood sample) . It came back negative. I am aware that there is a 3 month window period.. But my question is... Would there still be HIV antibodies (antibodies that the blood test will pick up) in the body after 5 years of exposure ?? (assuming u were HIV positive). Thank you.

I have done lots more research in internet and I have got one queston regarding Antibody test. I have read some article saying that If person progressed to AIDS, some time the antibody test does shows false negative as there vanishing some types of HIV antibodies. Assume If a person is testing this antibody test after two years of exposure, what are the possibilities for false Negative result(Other than Laborotry mistakes). Should he need to undergo multiple tests to conclude the result.

Now there is a whole raft of autoimmune diseases out there, dont just shorten it to aids, because as anyone with knowledge of aids knows its not aids that kills you its the diseases you get as a result of low anti bodies. Your DR i believe is checking possibility of muscular syndromes. He may now do more specific blood tests. I cant work out how to convert your figure into our terms so have a look at the blood test again and see if they mark a regular range as well like 1:60 or 1:80.

The HIV test is totally different from the test that you had. Your test sounds like a complete blood count. If you feel the need for being tested for HIV, please, by all means, ask your doctor to please have you tested. It is a specialized test and must be marked "HIV" for the test requested. Hope this helped. HIV means you carry the virus; full-blown AIDS is the disease itself. There are many folks living with HIV who never develop full-blown aids.

Everyone with AIDS has a positve antibody test, as do many peole who have not progressed to the advanced stage of disease represented by AIDS. This will be my last answer. You do not have HIV or AIDS.

When you get tested for hiv via antibody test that test for hiv1 and 2 does that include aids?? Or is there a completely seperate test for that, and if so why no one gets tested for that. Thanks guys.

HIV antibody test is conclusive after 3 months. So the test you just took is conclusive. You don't have HIV.
