my question is does anyone know if current antibody test will also catch a new strain like this?

my question is does the current elisa test also detect this new strain? also if the testing window frame remains the same at 3 months, even with this new strain?
I just found out about 12 years ago my mate was unfaithful and i have gotten tested recently with an third generation eia antibody test hiv1/2 with reflexes, a rapid blood test, 4 oraquick home tests and all came back negative. But ive read ur post that some people with aids antibodies wont show on those tests. Im very scared that im in that stage and the tests i took arent sufficient enough to know for sure.
Hi this is just my opinion.
I know people who have asked their doctor if they should be tested. The doctor proceeds to tell them they have no risk therefore don't need testing.
I know someone who was sick for a year. No one knew what it was. When I told him that his ex girlfriend had undergone tx for HCV he asked his doctor for the test. The doctor did not want to test him. He had to insist, he tested positive.
I think there is still a lot of ignorance.
so i got tested on the following dates 1) 16 feb 2013 - hiv1 and hiv2 antibody test result was NEGATIVE, 2) again i got tested on 16 May 2013 - hiv 1 and hiv2 antibody test result was negative 3) lastly i got tested on 16 july 2013- p24 antigen hiv1 and hiv2 combo test (serum, cimia technique) and the result was index value 0.1,, Non Reactive..
Your test will be 100% conclusive and accurate. Any HIV antibody test done 3 months after the last possible exposure is conclusive. I would say that 13 YEARS later, it would be conclusive :) The only diagnostic test for HIV is an antibody test.
I've recently discovered that the test I took (Orasure Oral Fluid HIV Antibody) only detects HIV-1.I called around and apparently,there is nowhere in my area that test for HIV-2.I would not worry if it wasn't for this bad-itchless rash that has slowly developed on my back.What are possible ways for me to get a test for HIV-2?
HepB can make you yellow within the month but HepC like mine was not tested for and was there for 40 years before being discovered due to varicies rupturing and vomiting blood although i had been in surgery 5 times in my life and it wasnt tested for so within a month i would be tested.
Do you have a confirmation western blot positve test or just an antibody test? What were some risks that you had that could have exposued you to HIV?

one 40 yearsold african woman tested mutiply and all antibody tests went negative. but she had some typical AIDS syptoms at that time.then dr asked her to do a PCR,came positive.and also tested some other things ,like CD4,IGG,IGM range.
and then the woman died in 3 months after being discoverd.
you may say this negative situation may cause by late stage HIV. and her immune system was destroyed by AIDS.
but the DR also tested her IGG and IGM ,they were at the normal range.....

Dear doctor, Can HIV antibody be detected in last stage of AIDS patient by elisa test.One of my relative had several exposure in 9 years ago with prostitude when he was in a UN mission in africa. Some web site for example google books says antibody can not be detected at advanced stage of infection. Is it right.........He is suffering from some infection for months........His elisa test is negative.........please answer.....
Hi, Anti HAV antibody is a test for Hepatitis A antibody not HIV. If you dad had a vaccine or past infections for Hepatitis A it would be positive for IgG antibody and negative for IgM. So, if he had the vaccine he is immune to Hepatitis A. If he didn't have the vaccine he was exposed to in sometime in his life (in the past) and is immune to the virus and is not sick now and won't transmit it to his family or friends.
No this is not in any way a test for AIDS.
If a person has full blown can they give u aids? &does an antibody test pick up either hiv or aids..
I have done lots more research in internet and I have got one queston regarding Antibody test. I have read some article saying that If person progressed to AIDS, some time the antibody test does shows false negative as there vanishing some types of HIV antibodies. Assume If a person is testing this antibody test after two years of exposure, what are the possibilities for false Negative result(Other than Laborotry mistakes). Should he need to undergo multiple tests to conclude the result.
ll remind you that these features -- blood and sex -- were understood in great detail about AIDS before the virus was discovered. I would expect that if and when a new bloodborne virus emerges, we would have the same epidemiologic clues. Until and unless some such illness shows up, and appears to be spreading widely in the way HIV/AIDS did in the early 1980s, you shouldn't be worried about it.

my situation is i am worrying about that i can't produce any antibody,so the ab-test for hiv would miss it...
okay,let me talk about my self first.
i 've taken the vaccine for HBV then i tested that i could produce antibodies normally for HBV,the immnue sys works; and i recovered from a fever in less than 2 days...and i don't have any chronic disease...
