Avatar m tn I am so far a healthy 43 year old/m in pa. I am trying to decide which health insurance plan will be good for my situation and I am looking for some opinions here. This Month my group plan ends and I can take cobra but there is no financial benefit to taking my same PPO plan which gives me to price break for being unemployed. So I am trying to look at this at a meaningful way. Since my PPO was $475/m plue $29 dental I just cant be paying that on my own now.
Avatar n tn My husband (40 y/o,healthy)and I (40 y/o, healthy) are looking to get our health insurance coverage from next present. Right now we are on cobra GHI( extension from my previous work place) but they are asking me to change to EMPIRE PPO or EPO since they will not have GHI. I did not have dental and vision coverage previously but even if I want it they are saying they cannot add it. They are also asking for a one year committment.

1284791 tn?1271994267 I work for an INS company, and some of the plans cover and some dont. Some depends on health history, while others just have really crazy high deductable. So when actually looking for INS companies, I would say also check to see if other methods would be covered just in case that IVF fails.
572651 tn?1530999357 Hi all, I was looking for the ICD9 code for MS for some forms (#340 I believe) and came across this excellent Aetna insurance "Clinical Policy Bulletin: Multiple Sclerosis" - in clear language it explains what they consider routine coverage for MS. www.aetna.com/cpb/medical/data/200_299/0264.html If you know of other insurers that post a similar document please feel free to add it here.
Avatar f tn My question is, are there any programs available that treat patients who are not alcoholics, and are covered by most major insurance plans and treat the individual patient as opposed to a generalized group which seems to always include patients that are ordered by the courts to attend so as to prevent jail time? I don't have the time or the money to attend yet another generic, one size fits all, treatment program.
Avatar m tn I make roughly 70k. So I hope I get the right health insurance that meets what I am looking for and that matches my income. Thanks in advance.
Avatar f tn Does anyone have individual health insurance (not with an employer) that covers ANY part of infertility? I mean meds, IUI or IVF. Thanks!
Avatar f tn Hello. I live in northeastern Pennsylvania. My employer's health insurance premium payments are now $203 per paycheck (26 payments per year). She said we can try to find individual plans. My question is... I had basal cell carcinoma (benign) on my face removed in 2001. Do I have to report this as a pre-existing condition since it was nine years ago, completely removed, and no recurrence?
5104126 tn?1413329079 No cost to me thanks to my insurance! !! And its a good one. The medela double pump eelectric that comes with a nice bag.
Avatar f tn You are not going to find a list for which Pharmacy Benefit Manager each insurance provider ie, Aetna, United, BCBS, etc has because it is dependent upon each individual plan. For example....I have insurance through my hubby's employer. We have medical insurance with Aetna. Last year our Pharmacy Benefit Manager was Catamaran but they changed this year and we have CVS/CareMark. The Speciality Pharmacy with Catamaran was Briova and with Caremark they of course have CVS.
7552771 tn?1469929649 How come your pregnancy isn't covered by united health care? That's what my insurance is and it is amazing!.. I apologize if this is too personal.
387294 tn?1207620185 My son and daughter may be looking for health insurance after they leave college and are no longer dependents. My daughter has been diagnosed with a bicuspid aortic heart valve. She has a healthy heart and it is working well. With this impact her chances to get health insurance on her own? Will it impact our ability to continue her insurance after the cobra period is over on our insurance?
Avatar n tn I have Aetna and was prescribed to be on treatment 24 weeks more than 'standard'. Insurance plans can differ, even within the same insurance company. One of the main objective of insurance is to limit pay-outs for coverage as much as possible. However, you and the docs can work with insurance company. If extended treatment is warranted, you might want to get your doc on the case with the insurance company.
649848 tn?1534633700 Thursday, just hours after giant insurer UnitedHealthcare said it’s losing money selling ObamaCare plans and will likely exit the health exchanges next year, the Obama administration quietly promised to bail out insurers for their losses — using your money. Nearly all insurers are bleeding red ink trying to sell the unworkable plans. Without a bailout, more insurers will abandon ObamaCare, pushing it closer to its demise.
419309 tn?1326503291 (1) Has anyone had to change health coverage/insurance carriers during treatment? Due to misinformation from my pharmacy and current HMO as well a low prescription maximum, my husband may have to change insurance carriers during treatment. Besides making sure all his doctors are still "in-network", is there anything I should be checking on before changing policies? (Thankfully, pre-existing conditions are not at issue, so we're ok there.
Avatar n tn I know my insurance covers an electric pump at no cost to me for 36 months! I have aetna, I am pretty sure if your insurance company needs a prescription for it your babies doctor isn't going to deny writting one since they advocate breast feeding.
Avatar f tn It depends if you have health insurance and whether that insurance covers breastpumps or not. If you have health insurance. Call the customer service line printed on your insurance card. Talk to a represenatitve and ask them if they cover breast pumps and to what extent. Mine covers a 100% with no co-pay. After you have verified that they cover it, ask them what their process is. Every insurance is different. With my first pregnancy, I had Aetna.
745313 tn?1323142298 Does anyone have any experience with Aetna insurance and treatment? My company just switched from Anthem to Aetna. I was worried about the Anthem benefits with treatment, but I know nothing about Aetna. Anyone? I'm in California if that makes a difference.
Avatar m tn I have my own company in CA, i'm looking into a new group health insurance, does anyone know of a carrier that covers infertility? IUI, IVF ...? If you work for a company that covers it, can you please let me know the plan you are on? Thank you...
Avatar n tn What are the best health insurance sites/companies/agents? When you search health insurance you get ehealthinsurance.com, and healthinsurance.org, and http://www.HealthPlanOne.com as the top 3 but I want to know if you have found better ones than these ones.
Avatar f tn It depends on your plan, there are hundreds of different Blue Cross Blue Shield plans, it doesn't matter whether it's BCBS, United, Aetna, etc- it matters what plan you have. There's no way to tell unless you ask or know someone, at work for example, you can check with HR if you get your plan through your job.
Avatar n tn We have an Aetna PPO. We visited the ER. On the bill states the final amount of charges from the hospital is $418. Then there is an "Aetna Billed Charge" for $560. After checking with Aetna they told us that their negotiated rate or cap that the hospital can charge for an ER visit is $979.
Avatar n tn You should contact your HR department. I'm going through a very similar situation, ONLY I'll be 36w4d when my employer is changing our insurance. Aetna went up on them about $80 per employee......So now they are switching. I can't complain too much because my empoyer pays our health ins. Meantime our HR dept. has been keepingme informed so I will know if I am going to have pay anymore towards a deductable. I already paid $2000 so far.
201379 tn?1319991331 I need to switch health insurance for 2015 and I'm looking at maybe switching to Kaiser. When I was being screened for a transplant at Univ of Colorado several years back, I remember one woman in the group was referred by Kaiser because they didn't have a transplant center of their own. Is anyone currently being seen at UCH and on the transplant waiting list that has Kaiser for their insurance?
Avatar f tn I think I found an answer to my question on the COBRA web site: "Pre-existing conditionsSome health insurance companies cut their costs by invoking something called a "pre-existing condition" clause. The notion of a pre-existing condition makes sense when you're talking about car insurance: your windshield was cracked before you bought your coverage, so you can't expect the insurance company to replace it once your policy is in force.
