Avatar f tn I have been dealing with an (almost) unbearable pain above my right brow bone (and on the bone) for almost 2 consecutive hours now. I’m looking for causes, reasons, and or treatments for this. PLEASE. Also it doesn’t respond to Advil (extra strength) or darkness.

Avatar f tn Yaaaaeeeee thank u ladies
Avatar n tn I get really bad headaches also. And Tylenol does nothing. Sometimes I take Benadryl, robitussin, delsym, etc, i know it's just coughs or sickness, but it helps my head so it's better than nothing.
Avatar f tn My Dr gave me a list of meds that can be taken. For cough cold allergy congestion says "you can take benadryl, chlortrimeton, dimetapp, actifed, sudafed, robitussin, claritin or tylenol. DO NOT TAKE any medicine with Advil or aspirin.
Avatar f tn If you are pregnant and do get a cold, do not take any over-the-counter cold or cough medications without checking with your ob/gyn or practitioner. Most antihistamines, decongestants and cough medicines should not be taken during pregnancy unless instructed to do so by the practitioner. They are usually not tested in pregnant women and may have dangerous side effects for the baby. In most cases, it is fine to take Tylenol (acetaminophen) for minor aches and pains.
Avatar f tn Pls stop taking the medicine at once and take some antihistaminics like Benadryl or Claritin. Short courses of oral cortisone or steroids are taken for short periods (one to three days) to settle more severe symptoms. You may take Vitamin C along with the prescribed treatment. Vitamin C is a general anti-allergy supplement. Also apply calamine lotion on the itchy areas. If the symptoms persist, then you can get it evaluated from a dermatologist.Immunotherapy may be tried.Hope it helps.
4364093 tn?1365869659 Not around where I live at least lol) robitussin, plain halls cough drops, benadryl. Sudafed. And there were a few others. No advil/aleve of any kind. No alka seltzer. Mucinex, etc.
Avatar f tn I have been currently withdrawing form a pain pill addiction for 3 days now. My question is, "Is it ok to take Acetaminophen to help with the feeling of pain?" I've been using Benadryl to help me sleep, taking vitamins, & trying to stay hydrated. Mind i've been doing this cold turkey.
786879 tn?1236881905 Like Lalapple says, Advil or aspirin can lower platelets which are already low on treatment. My doc only uses Tylenol.
Avatar f tn She has vomited had diariah gave her advil twice for the fever. Gave her pedialyte to stop the diariah. She keeps whinig her stomach hurts . what to do ? I called the doctors they said keep her hydrated and plenty of rest ok. I just want her pain to go away.
7510956 tn?1411671417 I was told by my Doctor to take Tylenol (no more than 2000 mg per day) instead of Advil while on treatment for headaches since advil damages the kidneys. I have always heard to avoid Tylenol since its bad for the liver or have things changed?.
Avatar n tn unless it was helping your pain... but, like with so many OTC meds, Advil is another famouos OTC med that triggers migraines and causes rebound headaches, it could have also been the cause of the original pain or it could have been amplifying the pain if it was also temporarily removing it at night. So, it would be a good idea to cut back on the Tylenol PM in the hopes of reducing it until you were not taking it at all anymore, then you might find that your headaches go away entirely.
Avatar f tn I'm a fairly healthy 25-year-old woman. I work retail. 9 days ago I was diagnosed with hand foot & mouth after I went to a walk in clinic with a bizarre rash on my hands and feet. It was extremely itchy and the "hives" were ring-like. No hives/sores on my mouth. They gave me a steroid shot and a Benadryl shot and sent me on my way. The rash went away. It's now been 9 days and I still have a low grade fever, very little energy, little appetite and just generally feeling bad.
Avatar f tn I have also been experiencing this. I wouldn't necessarily say they are headaches, more of just a pressure and uncomfortable feeling in my forehead and inbetween my eyes and on the bridge on my nose. I get the feeling as soon as I turn the lights off. I have had to start sleeping with the lights on . I went to my PCP after this was going on for about three months. He said it sounded like allergies and suggested benadryl.
1394601 tn?1328032308 I began taking my Rebif shots without taking Advil in advance. Am I playing with fire?
1219328 tn?1266881841 Hi, I know RLS can be horrible. I just wanted to clarify something posted earlier, the drug diphenhydramine is the same as tylenol pm advil pm and the generic for benadryl. Benadryl just doesn't have the pain reliever in it. Now unisom is a drug called doxylamine and is not the same. The only reason I know is I do have a nursing background, BUT more importantly I get really restless on the doxylamine and can only take benadryl.
Avatar f tn advil is a minor anti inflammatory I have never heard of it prescribed for this before but it could help a little I suppose more widely prescribed for GM are some of the big anti inflammatories - particularly prednisone or methotrexate I did take Naproxen for some time, (months at a pretty high dose - it really attacks your stomach lining though so I went off), which I guess is a step up from advil, and is a non steroidal anti inflammatory (NSAID), can't say if it helped with the inflamma
