148588 tn?1465778809 The study, which examined five locales nationwide including Westchester, found that as solar panels and solar panel and battery systems — which can cost in the low- to mid-five figures but are currently heavily subsidized by governments at the state and federal levels — become cheaper, the economic incentive to adopt will grow. Prices, the study found, will hold steady around 20 cents per kilowatt hour, with grid-only prices to jump to 40 cents by 2040.
148588 tn?1465778809 Most wind energy manufacturers are in Republican districts, and most wind energy production comes out of Republican districts. So for Republicans to be against wind energy, they're hurting their own constituents." This is another example of how non-representative our government has become. 'Representatives' vote the way the lobbyists tell them to. And yeah -- both sides.
148588 tn?1465778809 s the case, it provides an opportunity for crowdsourced solar projects (using services like Mosaic and Divvy) and community solar projects to drive the initiative of shared solar energy. 9.
206807 tn?1331936184 The Headline is decieving. Bush and Obama has to share the Blame on this one. Does anyone follow up on these companies or do we just give them a half a Billion dollars and a Pat on the Back? WASHINGTON (AP) - A California solar-panel manufacturer once touted by President Barack Obama as a beneficiary of his administration's economic policies - as well as a half-billion-dollar federal loan - is laying off 1,100 workers and filing for bankruptcy. Avatar f tn s original intent -- solar energy projects, wind energy projects and any other alternative type of energy is absolutely necessary, if the US is stop being dependent on foreign oil; however, I stand by what I said before: If they'd have used the $787 billion they spent on the bail out, we might already have new jobs being created; people might already have gone back to work; there might be less pollution; our country might be safer.
148588 tn?1465778809 said John Smirnow, vice president for trade and competitiveness at the nearly 500-member Solar Energy Industries Association. The increase in solar hazardous waste is directly related to the industry's fast growth over the past five years — even with solar business moving to China rapidly, the U.S. was a net exporter of solar products by $2 billion in 2010, the last year of data available. The nation was even a net exporter to China.
148588 tn?1465778809 We are investing more into wind and solar. A few of the nation's oil and gas guys are BIG into wind farms. There are some down sides though, and if you're concerned about the environment there is a price to pay. There is tons of toxic waste created from the production of solar panels. Wind farms are killing birds and displacing wildlife and there are studies being conducted on the impact of the production of the windmills themselves.
148588 tn?1465778809 Driven by the availability of cheaper and more efficient energy storage and inexpensive solar power, electric vehicles will begin to attain cost parity with cars driven by internal combustion engines. According to UBS, in a market with high road fuel prices, such as Germany, the total cost of ownership of an electric vehicle such as the Tesla S is already comparable with a gasoline-powered car, such as the Audi A7.
1310633 tn?1430224091 (Reuters) - Energy producers braced for tighter regulation in President Barack Obama's second term, with coal companies expecting more emissions restrictions and drillers anticipating less access to federal land even as his platform promotes energy independence. Opponents already believe Obama has waged a "war on coal" through the administration's push for stricter regulation of greenhouse gas emissions by the Environmental Protection Agency.
163305 tn?1333668571 carbon pollution by 40 percent by 2030 and 80 percent by 2050 by putting a tax on carbon pollution, repealing fossil fuel subsidies and making massive investments in energy efficiency and clean, sustainable energy such as wind and solar power. – Create a Clean-Energy Workforce of 10 million good-paying jobs by creating a 100% clean energy system.
535822 tn?1443976780 Wind farms along with solar power and other alternative energy sources, are supposed to produce the energy of tomorrow..Much evidence indicates that their countless whirring fan blades produce something else: blank spots that distort radar readings. Now government agencies that depend on radar---such as the National Defence dept and the weather service are scrambling and spending Millions to preserve their detection abilities... here we go yet again ....
1302779 tn?1287405029 The simple answer to your question is that the sun emits photons, a form of electric energy that we see as light. Solar energy utilizes photons to create electricity. Because photons are able to penetrate most substances it wouldn't surprise me that photons interact with our nervous system via the optic nerve or nerves located in the scalp.
179856 tn?1333547362 Timing is everything. And for the Solar Dynamics Observatory, launched into orbit this past February, the timing couldn't have been better. The SDO helps scientists study solar storms, and for a long couple of years prior to the launch, those storms were few and far between. Our nearby star was in a deep sleep, largely devoid of the sunspots, flares and prominences that indicate heightened magnetic activity.
6708370 tn?1471490210 I was very fatigued before treatment. I had no energy whatsoever and every time I tried to do anything, I would last only a short time and then I had to rest. I was tired all of the time. My fatigue basically disappeared after treatment. I actually noticed a change towards the end of treatment but I was still on Interferon so I was not exactly energetic, LOL.
Avatar n tn Hello, Your symptoms are suggestive of seborrheic keratosis(a non-cancerous benign skin growth that originate in keratinocytes and like liver spots, are seen more often as people age),solar lentigo(dark (hyperpigmented) lesion caused by natural or artificial ultraviolet (UV) light) or pityriasis versicolor(fungal infection) I feel that an examination by a dermatologist will be the best. Without examination,it is very difficult to say anything.
Avatar m tn Abengoa cost 35 million euros to build and generates 6.3 million euros a year in power a year for a break even in 6 years and 6.3 million euros 'free' energy after that. Someone may have pulled some henky financing along the way, but the concept of carbon free, non-heavy metal solar concentrating is sound.
535822 tn?1443976780 til the costs drop down to a price most people can afford. I mean, we all know that electric cars, hybrid cars, solar and wind power are all reasonable efforts to try for alternative energy sources, but the start up costs make such things out of reach for the average person. And, I've actually heard some down sides to solar panels, in that they can actually burn the soil in nearby areas, so I'm not convinced that solar belongs everywhere.
Avatar n tn He has been to many doctors over the past 2 years including some skin specialists and had many blood tests including STD and all , and so far nothing has been diagnosed. Avatar f tn However, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, along with several other breeds, can also be affected by something called Nasal Solar Dermatitis. It very much resembles what your dog has and is caused by an autoimmune problem that is most likely genetic. It's an autoimmune disease related to lupus.
148588 tn?1465778809 php#/0 Fresno County Quietly whirring away in a dusty field in the Central Valley is a shiny solar energy machine that may someday solve many of California's water problems. It's called the WaterFX solar thermal desalination plant, and it has been turning salty, contaminated irrigation runoff into ultra-pure liquid for nearly a year for the Panoche Water and Drainage District. It's the only solar-driven desalination plant of its kind in the country.
306867 tn?1299249709 I would say if absolutely needed. I would also like to see investment into renewable energy sources. Regardless if we are allowed to drill offshore and even in Alaska the amount of oil is still limited and within a generation or so will run out. Fossil fuels not only create pollution. There is only a limited supply of them so they will eventually not be available. And investment into renewable energy sources can create jobs.
Avatar m tn They are not lubricants, and are to some degree anti-lubricants. Real tears have vastly better lubricants, and multi-purpose and saline solutions actually suppress tear formation. I started using a real rewetting solution (lots more expensive) and the problem is fixed. Real rewetting solutions are formulated to be more like tears and are VASTLY better at doing lubrication. Yes, these solutions are advertised as such, but I was suspecting that was just marketing for pricey fluids. Nope.
