advair

Avatar n tn Both my 11 year old son and I take it and it has made an amazing difference. My son was on Singular but we had to yank him off it as he became very uncharacteristically despondent, irritable, and very reactive. He also complained of pain and numbness.
Avatar f tn I am supposed to take advair 250/50 twice a day. I have not been taking it because it is so expensive. I took it the last couple of days because I was having a hard time with fatigue. I took it and man I felt great! Now I got thrush again! Every time I use that stuff I get thrush even tho I rinse my mouth with saltwater! I also noticed it makes me cough! Anyone else have these problems?
Avatar n tn A couple of years ago, around the age of 13, my daughter started getting exercise-induced asthma and since then it has turned into full-blown asthma which has to be treated daily now (she is now 16). She was on QVAR, which didn't work very well, then we went to ADVAIR, which the insurance company encouraged me to change her from because it was so insanely expensive and now she is taking Dulera (which I think is working better than ADVAIR was) one puff each in the a.m. and p.m.
Avatar f tn late on-set asmath 8-months back, my daily regiment isone-puffs of Advair 50/500 twice a day followed by Ventolin as needed but no more than two-puffs fours times daily. My question: how will these drugs affect my lungs, teeth, mouth over a long period of time?
Avatar m tn Do you take any kind of medicine for your asthma? I have asthma myself and used to have sharp pains when I would take a very deep breath but since I have been useing Advair ,I haven't done that . There is only one draw back to Advair and that is, it is expensive even with my insurance the copay on it is over $50.00 a month but it does improve my breathing so I guess you fight one evil with another.
Avatar f tn I am going back to Qvar asap! Even though Qvar is no longer enough to control my asthma, I had rather go back to that than have this pain.
Avatar m tn Hi everyone! I'm in a bit of a bind right now. My preventive asthma medication seems to cause nausea and general cloudiness when I take them. When I stop taking them, the dizziness stops so I know that it's the cause. I've tried a handful of different medicines like Flovent, Dulera, Qvar, Advair, Pulmicort and even Singulair and they all cause this nauseating effect. I'm wondering if any of you know what this might be and any way to stop it.
959034 tn?1253671476 Hi, I'm almost in the same boat as you, if my need for steroid goes any higher. But how many puffs/day of symbicort are you taking? I'm allowed to take up to 8/day of symbicort 200 on a regular basis. That is the beauty of this one. Unfortunately Symbicort doesn't come in a stronger dose,as I was informed by my specialist. The only other one that is stronger is Advair 500...but you can't up the number of puffs on that one like you can with Symbicort, so it too is self limiting.
212161 tn?1599427282 I use advair twice a day and combivent when my asthma kicks in and i don't notice much racing when i use em
Avatar f tn My condition has improved under the new regime. The medication that was killing me was Advair. It also caused me to suffer adrenal fatigue.
Avatar n tn I was recently diagnosed with having asthma after a near fatal reaction to an antibiotic. It just started out of nowhere. I've lived in the same town my whole life and no change in living conditions. My doctor prescribed me Pro Air HFA. Immediately I was using it more than the recommended amounts. It makes me very jittery and makes my hands shake. When I came in I was told to keep using it and then prescribed Qvar. The Qvar gave me debilitating headaches.
Avatar n tn and allergic to cats, dust, mold and pollen, . In the summer of 2008 he was on daily doses of Singulair, Claritin, Qvar, and Rhinocort. Concerned over this amount of medication for someone this young I sought a second opinion. That doctor took him off all the medications and he was fine with no adverse reactions but occasionly felt he need an albuterol inhaler.
1398693 tn?1343684738 25 MG/3ML IN NEBU 2X a day before advair, SINGULAIR 10 MG PO TABS, ADVAIR DISKUS 500-50 MCG/DOSE IN AEPB 2X a day, QVAR 80 MCG/ACT IN AERS 2 puffs 2X a day When I see me doctor primary or allergist they all ways tell me that my lungs are clear but I still can’t breathe I’m even having a problem breathing when he’s listening to my lungs. Could my lungs be chronically inflamed? I haven’t had an x-ray since February I don’t know why they won’t do an x-ray to see what’s going on?
Avatar m tn I take inhaled steroids and xolair shots but I still need to use albuerol 4 times the days I swim and about 2 times every day. I don't swim. My doc says I'm taking all the advair, Qvar I can take. I am 75. I don't see how the pulmonologist and I can change the meds. Heart is good. Any ideas?
1398693 tn?1343684738 25 MG/3ML IN NEBU 2X a day before Advair, Singular 10 MG PO TABS, Advair Diskus 500-50 MCG/Dose in AEPB 2X a day, Qvar 80 MCG/ACT IN AERS 2 puffs 2X a day for my severe asthma and I do get relief from the Combivent only to have the chest heaviness come back hours later. So if it were from tight muscles in my chest wouldn’t the Combivent not work because is affecting the lungs and not the muscles?
Avatar n tn In that case you should not take advair but only serevent. If you are taking advair, you also need to inform your physician who is prescribing antihypertensives to you.
312330 tn?1245176752 Flovent, serevent (essentially advair), singulair, zithromax and xopenex ( I am on several others but these are specifically for my asthmatic problems). Some people do very well on Theo...I hope that it works out for you.
959034 tn?1253671476 My doctor is letting me choose between flovent and qvar to take with my Symbicort. Which works better? I'm still trying to get off prednisone.
920032 tn?1550680156 i am taking qvar preventative and ventolin reliever. lately my overnight breathing is causing me problems. i asked my gp for singulair but she prescribed atrovent. it does get mucus up but i am waking to cough it up. i have excersize induced asthma. it was on this site that i heard about singulair.
1987536 tn?1337916244 I feel much better, but curiosity intrigued me and I started Googling about the risks of not taking meds vs taking the meds and they both blow. Now, I feel like a terrible mommy but at the same time I know my angel needs my lungs to be strong...I feel like i should?stop taking them all but am already 18 weeks...wouldn't the effects of the advair be there already if any?
Avatar n tn The cardiologist was not at all concerned with the use of the advair but the pulmonologist is concerned that it will interfere with her heart meds. I have gone round and round with the pulmonologist and I don't want to see mom start down a path to the end. She is strong as a bull and she is getting very fed up with all of this. We live in the same town as the Mayo Clinic and I'm seriously considering a visit to that establishment. Any comments or ideas would be appreciated!
Avatar m tn I developed asthma at age 11 and because my dad and brother were already suffering by that time, I was basically just put on the medications they were using. I've been using advair now for 16 years. The last 9 or so I've sought alternative healing solutions, have been given breathing exercises, physical exercises, diet tips, acupuncture, salt inhalers...nothing has worked for me so far.
Avatar f tn See your MD, tell them your still having problems. They can put you on some maintenance medicine, like advair or singular. This should help.
3244521 tn?1346861134 I do have asthma controlled, by albuteral inhalers, and Qvar steriod inhalers, aswell as taking Singulair each day. I also have Dysthymic which I take Effexor XR 150mg each day. I'm 4'10" & 98 lbs. I'm a strict Vegetarian. Roughly, 6 months ago I had a severe asthma attack, went to the hospital and they put me on a 2 week taper of Prednisone. The longest and highest dosed taper I have ever taken.
Avatar n tn I take Allegra, Zyrtec, Claritin, Flonase and singular, albuterol nebs and inhaler, also famotidine 2x daily I was on advair for 2months and he said stop because it did nothing for me other than change sputum from slimy to chunky and is quite pricey for no results. For kicks and giggles I have started taking garden of life immune sinus balance and clearlungs which I can honestly say for a month I felt a little different 20min after taking the herbal stuff but not so much anymore.
