Advair use instructions

Common Questions and Answers about Advair use instructions

advair

Avatar f tn As for your teeth and mouth, your doctor should have given you instructions to rinse or brush your teeth after using the Advair, otherwise it can eat through the enamel and also cause sores and sensitivity in your mouth. If you have any concerns, you should call your doctor or pharmacist. Hope this helps.
5037123 tn?1362663006 Hello LAC936, I have asthma and I have had asthma for more than 10 years atleast. My doctor has prescribed Pulmicort which I take 2 times a day. You have to rinse your mouth after you take Pulmicort. I also take something called Bricanol which is also an inhaler which my doctor told me to use as needed. I've seen commercials for Advair. The commercials state that not everybody is a candidate for Advair. One idea is to google - possible side effects of Advair.
746512 tn?1388807580 Your doctor should have prescribed ipratropium bromide. Use the albuterol to open the airway, and three minutes later use the ipratopium bromide (Atrovent). Use the albuterol only when your symptoms come up, because the airways can become less responsive when this medication is over-used, and you want it when you need it. And follow the instructions, of have someone in an asthma clinic review them with you.
1425157 tn?1311651679 I have asthma and when I use the albuterol, it will jazz up my heart for about 10 minutes. It has an adrenergic effect (like adrenalin). When my asthma goes out of control and I have to use the steroid, beclomethasone, it doesn't affect my heart at all. But Advair has both a steroid and a bronchodilator. Perhaps it's the salmeterol that's bothering you. I agree with Cindy - see if you can get a different med to treat the lung inflammation without the jazzy side effect.
Avatar f tn I have been cautious about creating any sort of quick, drastic, pressure change in my mouth but now, I wonder about the use of my Advair diskus. I take Advair on a regular basis for asthma and have refrained from using it in the 24 hours post-extraction because I figured the quick inhalation may dislodge the clots. Now, however, it has been two days post-extraction, and I wonder whether it is safe to use Advair without risk of dislodging the clots.
Avatar m tn m experiencing multiple disturbing symptoms which I suspect are related to Advair Diskus use. For disclosure, I DID NOT follow usage instructions (due to being uninsured and broke) and stretched out use to over a month and a half, using only once a day most of the time -also partially due to the fact that it makes me puke. I used it several months ago for the 1st time and quit after it almost ran out. I quit using it this (2cnd) time about 6 days ago.
Avatar f tn I have had ashma all my life last year I started having a few bad attacks this time of year , this last few days my chest has been very tight walking upstairs I can't breathe and I am getting pain in my back and under ribs, I am a dance teacher so work is hard with this , last night I was only giving instructions and loosing my breath bad, do I need to see a doctor as it hasn't reached an attach is this a start of one ?
Avatar n tn It is also known as Advair. This is a very nasty medication which almost killed me. I still use an albuterol nebulizer and antihistamines. I have added natural anti-inflammatories. These are vitamin B5, mullein extract and MSM. My breathing has actually improved since I am off that junk, and my sinus headaches are a thing of the past. (Vitamin B5 is also a mucolytic, or mucus thinner.) There are absolutely no side effects with these natural supplements.
Avatar f tn Please know that I went through major, major allergy testing before my doctor prescribed Dulera, and I followed his directions to the letter! His instructions were to use Dulera, gargle, then brush my teeth - and do this twice a day. No thrush problem, but I absolutely had vocal cord problems.
Avatar f tn So they are still leaning towards an allergy of some kind. Pulmonary specialist give me Advair and tells me to use it with my inhaler. Neither of those are helping and I hate how I feel on the Advair, so I stopped it. The other - Maxair does absolutely nothing to relieve the asthma either. We just moved from a house that had possible mold in it. I could never prove the mold, but there was a year long water leak in the walls that they refused to fix, until I threatend to sue them.
Avatar f tn I usually use advair diskus for my asthma but I no longer have insurance and I can't affor to pay for it? Is there another medication I can use that is not so expensive?
Avatar f tn I have interstitial phneumonia since 1973 and have been on advair 500 since then I noticed lately that I am losing my voice and my pharmacist thought it was due to prolonged use of advair I also have trouble with pain in my legs and feet my toes turn up and I feel that if I try to straighten them out they would break very painful
Avatar n tn I am using advair for my asthma and it seems to help with those symptoms and I also have a rescue inhaler Flovent. But i do clean my advair diskus before and after each use. I dont have any infections in my mouth or lung i just have the white mucus and it has only been happening for two months and I have been using the advair about a year now. I heard from someone that the white mucus could be from allergies...is that true?
Avatar n tn Make sure you rinse your mouth after each use with Advair...that should help reduce the number of times you get thrush.
Avatar n tn I have had several problems with advair such as thrush and irregular heart beat. Also, my endocrinologist suggested that my osteopinia (sp?) could be related to advair use but it's just one possible culprit. I'm a runner and just finished a marathon and got thrush again from advair so decided I wanted to at least take a break from it. Well, it's been a few days and I have never had such breathing problems before I used advair, I have a constant headache and I'm exhausted.
Avatar m tn Afterthought. In place of Advair I use natural anti-inflammatories and mucolytics. Works well and no side effects.
Avatar f tn I had been put on Advair and it really helped. Then I read that it causes osteoprosis (I'm menopausal, full hysterectomy) AND to make matters worse, can cause heart attacks? I don't understand why these two rather important little issues were never discussed with me. Can you please tell me what the real risks might be? Thanks.
Avatar n tn You are correct in wanting to wait until you have achieved optimum benefit from the Advair® HFA (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Aerosol, before any consideration of oxygen use. The Advair® HFA (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Aerosol may raise your saturation, to a degree that will make oxygen use unnecessary.
Avatar n tn Am asma patient, and I notice that taking Advair cause me fatgue. I also notice the retention of urine just as describe on the comment of another user of Advair. At this time I will not use the said medication. Thanks for the warming of other statements, no longer will I use it. Thanks mucho.
Avatar f tn I use the Advair Diskus 250/50 every 12 hours. My job requires that I talk. It has become difficult to talk with the use of the Diskus. If I stop using it a few days my voice comes back. My Doctor told me to gargle, which I do when I rinse my mouth. I have also tried using biotene moisturizing mouth spray as well as the cream. Nothing seems to help. My employer is always asking when this is going to change. I want my voice back. Do you have any suggestions.
Avatar n tn Do you have white stuff in the back of your throat? Advair may cause a fungus to grow if you do not rinse your mouth and throat after use. If you have a fungus, you will need to see your doctor.
Avatar n tn I have the same problem. My doc had me on 250/50 2 times daily. It became a problem for me becuase I am sensitive to medications. I don't like feeling jittery because it freaks me out LOL. I stopped using it and then just Sunday, had an asthma attack. Now I'm using my inhaler and will have to start back on it. THE SOLUTION: My doc understood my concern about Advair. He said to take it once in the morning or afternoon regularly.
Avatar n tn other than sinus rinse, can you all recommend some other type of medications that i can use instead of advair that gets rid of inflamation? im gonna call the pulmanologist in a couple days. i know hes gonna recommend that i stay on advair but i want to get an idea about whats been working with other people so i can mention it to him.
Avatar f tn Hey everyone new here...question has anyone taken dulera for asthma problems during pregnancy...my doctor is informing me that I need not to go off of it because if I'm not getting oxygen my baby isn't...I've taken advair during pregnancy but not dulera anyone ever taken it and have a healthy baby?
Avatar f tn Here's what's going on: Ever since I stopped taking Advair, I've become hypersensitive to any and all drugs!! Everything from Prilosec to Tagament. From vitamins to digestive enzymes. From Albuterol Sulfate (in nebulizer) to Singulair. Everything that I ingest in pill form or inhale (chemically) results in a SEVERE allergic reaction or SEVERE adverse reactions!! I've learned to combat the GERD by controlling my diet and eating more raw foods seems to do the trick.
