There won't be any problems coming off of the advair, it isn't absorbed into the bosy like prednisone.
If you can limit your ventolin use to 1-2 times a week during the winter then you don't need to be on an inhaler at all during that time. Otherwise you can try flovent is the only part of the advair inhaler that helps with inflammation.

I have been taking advair 500/50 and spiriva 18mg for over a year now in combination with each other. When I get a chest infection, guess what? can't breathe. When I do not have a cold I can breathe just fine. I recently had a full physical with my family doctor and just about died when I hit the scales. He is telling me that as long as I am taking steriods (prednisone included at times) I will have weight problems.
I'm experiencing multiple disturbing symptoms which I suspect are related to Advair Diskus use. For disclosure, I DID NOT follow usage instructions (due to being uninsured and broke) and stretched out use to over a month and a half, using only once a day most of the time -also partially due to the fact that it makes me puke. I used it several months ago for the 1st time and quit after it almost ran out. I quit using it this (2cnd) time about 6 days ago.
it seems like advair is making my asthma worse. i started taking advair like 7 month ago and it seemed like for the first few months it was working but i had to become dependant on it everyday or else i would start weezing nonstop. after that my weezing was worst than ever and i started noticing that after i used advair my weezing was much worse. i saw this thread yesterday and now for a day and a half i havent used it and i feel alot better.
Can long term use of Advair cause bruising? I have been on 500/50 for two years in the summer months and 250/50 the remainder of the year. I am bruising easily and believe it may be a long term side effect for using Advair.
I have been cautious about creating any sort of quick, drastic, pressure change in my mouth but now, I wonder about the use of my Advair diskus. I take Advair on a regular basis for asthma and have refrained from using it in the 24 hours post-extraction because I figured the quick inhalation may dislodge the clots. Now, however, it has been two days post-extraction, and I wonder whether it is safe to use Advair without risk of dislodging the clots.
Steroids are often worse than the disease it treats. Advair almost killed me. By the way, steroids harm your immune system. And - reputable doctors are no long using Adviar 500. And in Februrary the FDA came out with a warning about Advair. They said it should only be used when nothing else worked and, even then, it should only be used short term.
Maybe you need another doctor.
I have been on Advair for one week. It has completely taken my taste and smell ability away. I am not going to take it any more, but will my taste and smell senses return with time?

I have the same problem. My doc had me on 250/50 2 times daily. It became a problem for me becuase I am sensitive to medications. I don't like feeling jittery because it freaks me out LOL. I stopped using it and then just Sunday, had an asthma attack.
Now I'm using my inhaler and will have to start back on it.

My doc understood my concern about Advair. He said to take it once in the morning or afternoon regularly.
I have fitness induced asthma, and my doctor put me on advair or something like that. And the next few days after taking it, I got really bad chest pains when I'd run. Has that happened to anybody else? Should I worry?

They said that I likely have asthma and prescribed me with Advair 100/50 for a year. The warnings that come with Advair say that people with Thyroid disease shouldn't take it. I am a sever asthmatic on 8 medications, but I also have Graves disease and had my thyroid killed. Yes..Advair is horrible for you. It brings your immune system way down. If you can go without it, I suggest you do so. I have meneire's diseases and I believe it was caused by the advair. My sister is on the Advair and has a constant sore throat but she can't breath very well without it. She could breath better before she was on advair. At first, you feel great on Advair. After a few months, for a lot of people, your health is worse.
I usually use advair diskus for my asthma but I no longer have insurance and I can't affor to pay for it? Is there another medication I can use that is not so expensive?
Hello, I am a 26 year old female who never smoked and has no history of asthma in the family.
For the past 9 months, I've been experiencing a mild shortness of breath, sometimes accompanied by a sharp (and sometimes dull) pain on the left side of my chest just above the breast. I've noticed the sharp pains from time to time when I inhale deeply or when I exhale fast and hard. Other than that, I don't wheeze or cough like many asthmatics do.
Am asma patient, and I notice that taking Advair cause me fatgue. I also notice the retention of urine just as describe on the comment of another user of Advair. At this time I will not use the said medication. Thanks for the warming of other statements, no longer will I use it. Thanks mucho.
