I was taking that dosage. As time went by I developed very serious adrenal fatigue, sometimes so bad that I couldn't walk. Cortisol levels were very high. I was treated for it with only moderate success. But there was a more serious side effect that I was not aware of. For the last two years my lung health was declining seriously and I honestly did not think I would make it through the coming winter. I assumed that the COPD was progressing at an alarming rate.

Advair has a steroid in it, which can cause hair growth, etc. I took Advair for my COPD briefly. I simply did not like the side effects that it seem to give me.

I knew it was more severe than that, as no smells at all were getting through, even when I could breathe through my nose. The pharmacist aknowledged that these were known side effects and warned me that the loss of smell might be permanent! My ability to taste started to come back within about a week of stopping the Advair. I went back on the Singulair and found it not to be a problem. Three weeks after stopping the Advair my sense of smell returned rather suddenly, over a couple of days.

The effects of steroids on individuals varies, not to mention the reason they are being prescribed them. Way more variable than you are acknowledging. Unless you are a doctor, please do not tell people not to take this. People could wind up in the hospital, even die from quitting steroids cold turkey. - I am a registered respiratory therapist who has intubated and terminally extubated people who took this kind of advice.

I also kept my hair with Gemzar. But I do have to admit that it was a hard chemo for me. I was also on the 3 week on and 1 week off schedule. Keep in mind, as Gail said, chemo affects all of us differently. But after my treatments, I had about 2 hours before it started to hit me. And my mother does not want to leave this medication because its the only one that works for her burning feet. s merely the remnants of a cold. However, I am losing an insane amount of hair, above the average hair loss due to postpartum. Is this the combo of thyroid, meds and postpartum... I'm on tapazole 10mg daily dose. Is there something I can do? I had my blood work done on Friday and WBC was normal... does it fluctuate easily? I appreciate your help. Thanks.

I used both, and found that side effects are similar; tiredness, weight gain, and a slow pulse. Side effects are more pronounced as the dosage is increased. I had dosages from 25mg to 200mg. daily. Other reported effects are loss of libido, tightness in the chest, itching, irregular breathing, and irregular heartbeat. If you have any further questions, I'd be happy to respond based on my experience with the drug.

I have been reading the posts on here about post treatment side effects and I was wondering how many of you have had severe hair loss? I only treated for 24 weeks but had lots of problems throughout treatment. I am 2 and half months post tx. Anyhow my hair will grow for about 4 to 7 days max then it falls back out. Hello, I was just reading about an older dog having a problem with urinary incontinence and the treatment she was given, particularly the possible side effects. My White Bearded Collie (13 years old) started being incontinent last year and my vet has prescribed INCURIN 1mg daily. This has been mostly effective (just the odd occurrence when she was asleep or distressed). I was just concerned that it may have some serious side effects such as those mentioned for the other treatment (PPA).

I would talk to your doctor about the side effects - advair has some nasty side effects that can be serious depending on age, health, other medications etc. There can be cardiac related things going on related to the medication or simple heartburn from it but it's better safe than sorry.

One idea is to google - possible side effects of Advair. Possible side effects of Symbicort. See if one of the side effects of either Advair or Symbicort is pain between the shoulder blades. Based on what you find out, I would have a conversation with your doctor. Only a suggestion. I'm sure there are other asthma medications besides Advair and Symbicort which may be a better match for you. Good luck.

I was having the same side effects, switched to dulera and have very few side effects, only stomach acid which is treatable. Glad you're feeling better.

are there any drugs to help asthma that dont have these crazy side effects. i mean other than albuteral. it seems like advair is making alot of peoples asthma worse and singulair has a whole list of crazy side effects like people acting aggresive, suicide, cant sleep, nightmares, depression. someone please tell me that there are some drugs to help asthma without all these side affects.
