advair

Avatar n tn You are correct in wanting to wait until you have achieved optimum benefit from the Advair® HFA (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Aerosol, before any consideration of oxygen use. The Advair® HFA (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Aerosol may raise your saturation, to a degree that will make oxygen use unnecessary.
Avatar n tn While it is possible that the Advair® HFA (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) could have had something to do with your developing shingles, it is very unlikely. The risk of death you mention is a very, very small risk. Advair® HFA (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) is generally well tolerated by most people with asthma but more than a few side effects have been reported, especially with the dose that contains the highest amount of fluticasone.
Avatar f tn when i was training for half marathon last year, i had shortness of breath, so extensive testing of my lungs was done and i was told due to 20 plus years of asthma small airways in my lungs have narrowed and i was put on Advair 132/21 hfa inhaler. it helped open up my lung and i was told by more than one doctor to take this inhaler every day like people take blood pressure medicine everyday. so I did that ( i was on a blood pressure medicine too at the time 20mg of benicar).
Avatar n tn I was put on an HFA inhaler, after trying to fight it for two months, and it had zero effect on my lungs after two weeks. Breathing treatments were ineffective, and I was put on advair, 100/50. I quit smoking about two and a half weeks ago, and have been taking my advair for about three weeks, and I still have not improved at all. Should I continue this treatment or maybe see another doctor???
Avatar n tn You and he/she will have to resort to other preparations, to include a different inhaled steroid, such as Flovent® HFA Inhalation Aerosol (fluticasone propionate), either alone or in combination with a long-acting bronchodilator, like Serevent® Inhalation Aerosol (salmeterol xinafoate) or Foradil® Aerolizer™ (formoterol fumarate inhalation powder), such a combination being either Advair® HFA (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Aerosol or Symbicort® (budesonide/formoterol fumarat
7748835 tn?1393868668 Hello. I'm 16, 5'6 and 118lbs. I've had asthma since I was little and I just got a diagnosis that it was moderate persistent asthma but has worsened since I've had that diagnosis so I'm sure it's severe now. I'm on Advair 250/20 as a preventor and I have Ventolin HFA as a rescue inhaler. I take Advair twice a day, but sometimes forget to take it. I don't believe it helps prevent any symptoms or attacks whatsoever.
437079 tn?1222438840 My Lungs are functioning at 60% So they change my meds around to Advair HFA and some Predsione to take for a week and then come back in two weeks reteake the breathing test to see if it improve. What can be going on with my Lungs I never smoke in my life. I'm so tired of this I just want to breathe better that's all.
212161 tn?1599427282 I use advair twice a day and combivent when my asthma kicks in and i don't notice much racing when i use em
Avatar m tn How long can one safely be on Advair? I have been on it for several years. Also, I am wondering if my dry mouth and dry eyes are a result of this medication.
Avatar f tn t breath, they keep saying i have anxiety, even thought i took an asthma test and i supposedly have borderline asthma so my doctor gave me advair to take 4 times a day, and it feels like its made everything worse, and its just been harder to breath, and i just took like 3 puffs and i still am having the worst time breathing ive ever had, and my mom wont take me to the hospital she just tells me its anxiety and its not!!!!
Avatar m tn Usually it goes away on its own. I currently take advair, singulair, and proventil hfa. It seems to help with it some. I'm still working on getting asthma under good control though. None of the doctors I went to mentioned having this kind of problem until I flat out asked and they said yes it is pretty common.
Avatar f tn If yes and you are using a dry powder inhaler - you may be like me and react to the lactose they use as the carrier molecule to get the medication into your lungs. Advair HFA, alvesco and any HFA inhalers are lactose free. Puli org, symbicort, any disk inhalers or rotatable ones a Have lactose in them. I did have to fight to get my doctor to believe me and switch my inhaler but proved it once I was off for a few months - improved and then did spirometry before and after taking symbicort ...
Avatar n tn Lately I begin to have constant burning sensation along my trachea. Currently I take Advair and Pro-air for my asthma and I am wondering if they have any thing to do with it. I would like to limit the amount of medication that I inhale or take due to possible side effects, so if anyone knows of any remedy that might treat this burning sensation, then please reply back to me.
Avatar f tn Watch inactive ingredients present - all of the dickus medications (advair, ventolin etc) have lactose as a carrier for the medication. You might be reacting to that and not the medication, switching to the HFA inhaler version would help that (or vice versa). If is VERY unlikely you are allergic to every single medication for asthma because there is a lot of differing types and specific meds.
586504 tn?1226473165 , Singulair 10 mg, Proventil HFA Inhaler, and ADvair and a steroid shot. August 7 she went to the Pulmonologist and was told her X-Rays look fine and they did the Spirometer breathing 'test' in which she passed with flying colors! The only thing he could see was that she was "Holding" a little air somewhere and was put on Singulair again! It hasn't helped at all! Everytime we've been to the doctor she has had a 98% or better oxygen level and her blood pressure is good.
Avatar f tn Asmanex® Twisthaler® 220 mcg (mometasone furoate inhalation powder) is an effective inhaled steroid. Using it with the Advair® HFA (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Aerosol is the equivalent of at least doubling your inhaled steroid, so as to better maintain the state of reduced inflammation, accomplished with the Medrol® (methylprednisolone).
Avatar f tn I did have a chest x-ray which was clear except my doctor said that my small airways looked pronounced which could indicate airway inflammation. I had allergy testing and had a mild reaction to ragweed. I was prescribed Ventolin HFA and Asmanex. I took these medications and had a lot of side effects from both medications. The side effects felt worse than the actual symptoms.
Avatar m tn My Pulmonologist placed me on 1 new medication last Spring of 2014 of Spiriva, and increased the dosage of Advair 250/50 to Advair 500/50. I continue to use the Ventolin HFA Inhaler as needed, and carry the Epi Pen at all times My Dentist faxed over Medical Request for Surgical Clearance and also asked for my Pulmonologist's written Anesthesia recommendation, which he gave as conscious sedation, along with his medical clearance for dental surgery as of November 2014.
975514 tn?1324997938 going to look into thatadvair disc powder got stuck in my throat instead of where its supposed to go. im about to try advair hfa.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with Asthma recently. I was given an inhaler. Ventolin & the steroid Advair. I don't feel like neither of them help. Nor do I think I have asthma. Sometimes I get short of breath from walking. My heart races & I'm out of breath after just a flight of stairs. I have this random cough for no reason. Ever since I was a kid. For the past two weeks I've been having a sharp pain in my chest if I try to take a deep breath.
Avatar f tn I went from 265 to 230 then gained 2 lbs and have stayed that way I'm currently 34wks + 3days
Avatar n tn I dont have productive coughs anymore after stopping the advair. It seems the advair was making the mucous come up like crazy. I am seeing a doctor in a couple of days to get a pft without the advair.
Avatar f tn The Doctor gave me an inhaler Proventil HFA I was told to use it as needed during the day 2 hits a min apart when I do need. And I do try it from time to time BUT I dont feel like I can breathe more. I feel kinda shaky from it but thats besides the whole question. She also told me to take claritin and I do take that. any comments would help I feel like I am alone with this. I just want to be healthy!!
920032 tn?1550680156 I don very well with the HFA versions. If you were on a dry powder, you might have been having problems with the milk by products in them keeping your peak flow down. My guess would be that your current phlegm problem is from the inflammation and asthma even though your peak flows are improving. If you aren't working with your dr to reduce your steroid use, you should really see your asthma doctor to make sure that your asthma is not flaring.
