advair

Avatar f tn It is important to remember that these are all resting values and that you might have a significant component of exercise induced asthma. You may need either a formal exercise study using a treadmill or an informal exercise study to be listened to, for wheezes and to demonstrate exercise induced bronchospasm. It is surprising that your breathing didn't improve with the Advair™ Diskus® (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Powder.
Avatar m tn I was wondering if anyone has experienced or heard of what I call "conversation-induced" asthma? I have seen a bit of information on laughter-induced asthma and suffer from exercise-induced asthma but can't find anything about asthma that comes on from simple talking. I usually begin to feel chest tightness and hoarseness if I am talking for more than 5-10 minutes. I begin producing mucous and albuterol does offer some relief.
Avatar n tn and then using a rescue inhaler when needed for the exercise. Her asthma is controlled, now, however, she has REALLY started shedding her hair and it is freaking us both out. This could have actually started back when she was on ADVAIR too. Has anyone else experienced this side affect? It doesn't seem to pop up much on the websites, except in the case of long-term users of the inhalers. Right now we are seeing a family practice doctor.
Avatar f tn I'm a little concerned. I'm being treated for asthma--Advair 250/50, Albuterol recue inhaler--but I have no cough or wheezing. Just chest tightness and pressure pain.
Avatar m tn If I do have some asthma though, it may be more exercise induced. What do athletes do? Exercises to expand or strengthen their lungs? Or something else?
Avatar m tn I have been diagnosed with Exercise Induced Asthma. It presents as shortness of breath shortly after starting vigorous exercise (< 1 min), after climbing ~3 flights of stairs, etc. My related medications eventually included Combivent Inhaler, Singular, Asmanex and Foradil. ~6 months ago I stopped the medications (except for occasional Combivent) becuase I felt the others provided no help. What baseline exercise process can I use to determine whether any of these medications help?
Avatar m tn Do you take any kind of medicine for your asthma? I have asthma myself and used to have sharp pains when I would take a very deep breath but since I have been useing Advair ,I haven't done that . There is only one draw back to Advair and that is, it is expensive even with my insurance the copay on it is over $50.00 a month but it does improve my breathing so I guess you fight one evil with another.
Avatar n tn It may be as simple as your having the most common chronic respiratory disease in persons your age, Asthma, with a component of exercise induced asthma (EIA or EIB), suggested by, “I seem to feel worse or heavy chested and feel the need to clear my chest a couple of hours after I run.” Or it could be a disease other than asthma.
Avatar f tn I have fitness induced asthma, and my doctor put me on advair or something like that. And the next few days after taking it, I got really bad chest pains when I'd run. Has that happened to anybody else? Should I worry?
Avatar f tn None of it helped. After a second pulmonologist did a flo test, he ruled out regular and exercise-induced asthma.
Avatar n tn Could be a case of exercise induced asthma. Moving around and being active even can trigger tightness and shortness of breath with asthma. Allergies can also be triggering it, but I would talk to your allergist how much since you said your only slightly allergic. I am severely allergic to cats and dogs off the charts, have asthma, and currently have a dog and a cat. So far I can't tell whether they are setting my asthma off or not.
Avatar n tn I am someone who is extremely sensitive to all medications, including the ones I have to take for my asthma. I have pretty severe asthma, am 24 and female. Advair makes me feel so horrible--it makes my heart beat really fast and palpitate and it makes it difficult for me to even exercise. I had been on the 250/50 for 3 years when I was in college before I realized it was making me feel like ****--so I got off of it completely, cold turkey, and like 6 months later I couldn't breathe again.
Avatar n tn During the 2nd half of last winter I had a bad asthma attack , which I got treated with a nebulizer at the clinic and then advair at home for 2 weeks. I am fine during the warm weather months (half of the year), but now I just had an attack this week and I only just closed the windows 2 weeks ago due to cold weather. Went to clinic again for same treatment and I'm alright now.
Avatar f tn You may be allergic to something, or just sick. The reason I say you may just be sick is because Dairy will cause mucus and inflammation to flare in a lot of people when they are sick. However, you're doctor is probably right with the asthma diagnosis, but Advair isn't a great thing. I have activity induced asthma and because of my asthma i am prone to chest congestion and so on. I was put on advair and all it did was make my asthma flare.
Avatar f tn Yes..Advair is horrible for you. It brings your immune system way down. If you can go without it, I suggest you do so. I have meneire's diseases and I believe it was caused by the advair. My sister is on the Advair and has a constant sore throat but she can't breath very well without it. She could breath better before she was on advair. At first, you feel great on Advair. After a few months, for a lot of people, your health is worse.
Avatar n tn My son has been using Advair for 2 years. Before this he had been using Singular - which worked well until he was 6 (aside from the nightly night sweats). Therefore, the Dr. put him on Advair. He has had mood swings for years. If he doesn't get his way......watch out! I thought this was his personality. Then after speaking to different people, they mentioned that this could be a side effect from asthma meds. Now he is having night terrors. This started happening 3 weeks ago.
Avatar m tn Actually some doctors consider exercise induced asthma to be a mild form of asthma itself. For normal asthma sufferers having problems after exercising is a sign that their asthma is out of control. It is also the last thing to clear up, when the asthma is getting back into control. I do agree that being out of shape can cause breathlessness while exercising. I have always found that running exacerbates my asthma the most as it is the most intense activity you can do to set it off.
Avatar n tn I was wondering if anyone who has exercise induced asthma could tell me what their symptoms are and how it differs from someone with regular asthma.... I have been mountain biking and exercising for over 3 years and my cardio/endurance has very very slowy gotten better compared to other riders of my skill and age for that matter. I am 27 years old male 5'10 200 pounds.
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with an exercise induced asthma and prescribed a 90 mcg albuterol inhaler. I didn't use it much as I was fine most of the time. But just recently I have been having to use my inhaler every few hours or so because if I don't I get really short breathed. I don't know what's going on and it's worrying me.
Avatar n tn I had asthma as a child and was on daily meds for excercise induced asthma. i never had a very bad attack i just would have to sit down for awhile. The symptoms all but went away when i was 18 so when i was 20 i joined the U.S. Marine Corps. After 2 years the symptoms came back during a deployment last year, much worse than they had ever been. Now I am a liability to my fellow marines and cannot fullfill my duties as an infantryman.
Avatar m tn Or, another example, “being barely able to walk 6 blocks could be on the basis of exercise induced asthma or heart disease. It would be most important that your asthma be optimally treated and that your doctors carefully check your heart to be sure that you do not have heart failure or abnormal heart rhythms, unrelated to POTS. You may wish to seek a second opinion from an asthma specialist to be sure that your asthma treatment is optimum.
Avatar f tn A pulmonologist put me on Advair and Prilosec. I went to an ENT for the dizziness, and they found nothing. I had an MRI that was negative. I saw a neurologist for the dizziness and headaches, and they found nothing. Since March, I have been getting sick with cold/flu symptoms (fever, aches, congestion, cough, stuffy nose, sore throat, nausea) almost every month. I had a chest x-ray, and it showed nothing. I took antibiotics,, but they did not help. I am seeing an allergist in a few weeks.
Avatar f tn I usually use advair diskus for my asthma but I no longer have insurance and I can't affor to pay for it? Is there another medication I can use that is not so expensive?
1398693 tn?1343684738 25 MG/3ML IN NEBU 2X a day before Advair, Singular 10 MG PO TABS, Advair Diskus 500-50 MCG/Dose in AEPB 2X a day, Qvar 80 MCG/ACT IN AERS 2 puffs 2X a day for my severe asthma and I do get relief from the Combivent only to have the chest heaviness come back hours later. So if it were from tight muscles in my chest wouldn’t the Combivent not work because is affecting the lungs and not the muscles?
Avatar n tn it seems like advair is making my asthma worse. i started taking advair like 7 month ago and it seemed like for the first few months it was working but i had to become dependant on it everyday or else i would start weezing nonstop. after that my weezing was worst than ever and i started noticing that after i used advair my weezing was much worse. i saw this thread yesterday and now for a day and a half i havent used it and i feel alot better.
370736 tn?1247242917 so far I have 3 for Singulair and 1 for Advair...good luck!
