advair expensive

I usually use advair diskus for my asthma but I no longer have insurance and I can't affor to pay for it? Is there another medication I can use that is not so expensive?

I had ordered Advair and received Seraflo a good while back. I was diagnosed with Adult Asthma in 2006. I took the Seraflo and it helped for several weeks. Then I misplaced it. I havn't had anything in the past year and my breathing was getting really bad again. I wheezed at night and coughed myself awake nightly. Just by a streak of luck, I found it yesterday and had about a week left. I have taken 3 doses and have noticed a definate improvement in just a few doses.

A couple of years ago, around the age of 13, my daughter started getting exercise-induced asthma and since then it has turned into full-blown asthma which has to be treated daily now (she is now 16). She was on QVAR, which didn't work very well, then we went to ADVAIR, which the insurance company encouraged me to change her from because it was so insanely expensive and now she is taking Dulera (which I think is working better than ADVAIR was) one puff each in the a.m. and p.m.

I got in to see my doctor and he said it was probably asthma and gave me an Advair inhaler to use if this ever happens again. A month later I had a similar episode and I used the inhaler and it didnt seem to help. At least not soon enough. My symptoms eventually subsided. I went back to the doc and he ordered a chest xray, blood tests and heart tests which all came back ok.

Do you take any kind of medicine for your asthma? I have asthma myself and used to have sharp pains when I would take a very deep breath but since I have been useing Advair ,I haven't done that . There is only one draw back to Advair and that is, it is expensive even with my insurance the copay on it is over $50.00 a month but it does improve my breathing so I guess you fight one evil with another.

DO I ALSO NEED TO BE TAKING SYMBICORT OR ADVAIR? WHAT CAN I DO TO TRY TO MANAGE MY COPD BESIDES QUIT SMOKING WHICH I HAVE CUT DOWN TO A HALF A PACK A DAY. WHICH IS ALL THAT I CAN ACCOMPLISH NOW. WHAT CAN I BE DOING TO BETTER CONTROL MY BREATHING WITH WHAT I HAVE ON HAND?

I am supposed to take advair 250/50 twice a day. I have not been taking it because it is so expensive. I took it the last couple of days because I was having a hard time with fatigue. I took it and man I felt great! Now I got thrush again! Every time I use that stuff I get thrush even tho I rinse my mouth with saltwater! I also noticed it makes me cough! Anyone else have these problems?

I have been hospitalized for asthma. Upon entering I was given a breathing treatment for more than 2 hours. My bronchial tubes felt like they were leather tubes, getting smaller by the minute. I have been on a breathing machine three times a day for weeks, until I began to improve. If the Advair really bothers someone at the 250/50 strength, ask your doctor to give you the 100/50. As the above writer states try Symbicort.

They are both very helpful for my symptoms however you think advair is expensive????? All of the breathing medications I use are out of sight. It is really sad when a person can't breath and have to pay so much just for air huh?

look for higher paying jobs or something if you are too stressed. They are expensive, but get 2nd hand clothes, cheap diapers(start buying early) or even cloth diapers?, try breast feeding/ pumping(formula is expensive). Hit up yard sales and internet sales. :) good luck to you! It is all so worth it!

My son accidentally poured some water into his Advair discus. Since this medication is so expensive, and he has 43 doses left, I don't want to throw it out. I spoke to 2 pharmacists who couldn't help me, so I treated it like a wet cellphone, putting it in rice after wrapping it in a paper towel (to keep out rice dust). I left the mouth hole open since that's where the water was poured in. Has anyone had this experience and found something that worked?

it seems like advair is making my asthma worse. i started taking advair like 7 month ago and it seemed like for the first few months it was working but i had to become dependant on it everyday or else i would start weezing nonstop. after that my weezing was worst than ever and i started noticing that after i used advair my weezing was much worse. i saw this thread yesterday and now for a day and a half i havent used it and i feel alot better.

Is it safe to stop taking Advair cold turkey when my symptoms improve or do I need to take something else to come off it slower?

Can long term use of Advair cause bruising? I have been on 500/50 for two years in the summer months and 250/50 the remainder of the year. I am bruising easily and believe it may be a long term side effect for using Advair.

I have been cautious about creating any sort of quick, drastic, pressure change in my mouth but now, I wonder about the use of my Advair diskus. I take Advair on a regular basis for asthma and have refrained from using it in the 24 hours post-extraction because I figured the quick inhalation may dislodge the clots. Now, however, it has been two days post-extraction, and I wonder whether it is safe to use Advair without risk of dislodging the clots.

Steroids are often worse than the disease it treats. Advair almost killed me. By the way, steroids harm your immune system. And - reputable doctors are no long using Adviar 500. And in Februrary the FDA came out with a warning about Advair. They said it should only be used when nothing else worked and, even then, it should only be used short term. Maybe you need another doctor.

I have had several problems with advair such as thrush and irregular heart beat. Also, my endocrinologist suggested that my osteopinia (sp?) could be related to advair use but it's just one possible culprit. My instinks kept telling me that it was the Advair that brought it on. I knew it when i found that Advair surpresses your amune system and i found that it has brought on major illnesses and death. I have been off Advair for 2 days and already feel better and like my happy self is coming back.
