Common Questions and Answers about Advair cost help

Avatar n tn I'm taking advair and it helps me but I can not aford the cost of it. I have no insurance with my job. Is there ever such thing as cupons or samples of the 500/50 dose? This weather is realy infeacting me. I can't afford a doctors visit what can I do?
746512 tn?1388811180 However this could just be due to the lack of consistency in my test results to point at asthma. I am trying advair 250/50 right now, and it has improved my symptoms 90% within an hour of the first dose (minus one very stressful day that sucked and I couldn't breathe). However, I have always been very healthy and thus took coverage off of prescription drugs 2 years ago because I've had maybe 10 mild antibotic prescriptions in my 20 year life.
Avatar f tn Hi, I don't really know the current cost for advair but I'll find out and let you know, but I think about $120 each month. I was lucky and was given a few inhalers from a friend who didn't want them anymore and before that I was getting samples....begging for them from my health clinic, but they claim no more. I take a lesser dose to make them last longer. If you don't mind me asking why are you attempting to get SSI?
Avatar n tn Since I was fifteen years old I found out that i had a breathing problem and now i am fifty six and it is worse, Ihave never been able to pass a breathing test, and the last four or five years i have woke up and would not be breathing and gasping for breath, my doctor prescribed advair 250/50 and this has helped me a lot and while taking i have not awaken gasping for breath , it was prescribed to take twice daily but it cost so much i only took it once daily to every other day, now i can no
746512 tn?1388811180 Symbicort for example includes both Pulmicort, as well as an LABA called Formoterol. Another example is Advair (Flovent/Salmeterol). I would definitely recommend seeing your Pulmonary Specialist.
Avatar m tn I can't imagine how you get with your 16-20 cups! I really found that whyquitdotcom website to help me through some of my weaker moments so remember that you have that option also : ) Congrats on making through the first day and good luck with day 2.
Avatar n tn my eye doctor told me it was due to mild allergies and prescribed eye drops which didnt help in the least so i turned to over the counter allergy medicine which hasn't helped either (so i dont think it's allergies) and in the last 3 weeks not only are my eyelids itchy but when i wake up in the morning my upper eye lids are bright red and swelled up so bad that its embarassing!!!!
746512 tn?1388811180 Since I started allergy shots about 1 1/2 months ago my chest feels more tight in the mornings than it use too. I was getting my peak flow readings up to 410-420 on advair with almost no symptoms in the morning. However due to the cost ($240 a month) I switched to using same dose of pulmicort.
Avatar n tn If this is anxiety or depression then is it normal to feel this way every day and every night. Please help me out. For the record I also have allergies to ragweed, dust mites, and grass, and cats (never around cats) the doctor said I have possible sleep apnea and asthma and just gave me advair (500 dosage 2 x's a day). I also take protonix for my acid reflux. Is all this related? Maybe you can make sense of all these symptoms. Thanks for your support.
Avatar f tn I currently am on Advair 5000, Singulair 10mg, Prednisone, Claritin, Mucinex, Flonase, Albuterol (fast and nebulizer) and Xolair injections every two weeks (300mg). To this date I still have problems weekly-monthly. I am not getting better. Coughing seems to be my biggest symptom, I cough so much and so hard that I start hyperventilating. My doctor says there is not much more he can do medicine wise. My life is totally a disaster.
724811 tn?1291434386 Does the company that manufactures symbicort offer any coupons or programs to help lower the cost? Some companies do. It might be worth a look.
201379 tn?1319994931 If you are on Xifaxan, what insurance do you have that covers it? Anyone have information on any patient help programs available from Salix? I got info on a program from my hepatologist that is a $100 discount, but this drug is over $1300/month, so not a big help if you are paying out of pocket.
Avatar f tn I had allergy shots when I was younger and thought that would be it, but apparently I was wrong. My NP changed Advair (due to cost) and gave me samples of Symbicort and Pulmicort inhalers to try, gave me a shot and antibiotic RX. I just hate taking all this medication. I will try to get in a routine with my nasal rinse, maybe that will help and guess I could see if I need to get back with an ENT to possibly start shots again.
Avatar f tn spiriva and was told that those meds are for later stages of copd. I tried advair and didn't feel that I got much relief with that medicine. Can you tell me where to go from here? I appreciate any advice you can offer.
1515545 tn?1291399364 Wall-mart has the best deal - but only in-store.
546753 tn?1305121098 i thought i was going to get help from the state but they backed out because of the cost. nice hah i live in the richest state in the country and can't get help of anykind. even the dental clinic desk lady in a deep spanish accent told me i had to pay full price. upon looking around the waiting room it dawned on me that i was the only person there without a translator.
Avatar m tn Advair, singulair, benedryl, Fexofenadene and Nasonex, I'm doing ok... Plus Albueterol and Combivent --- PLUS I'm down to the last 3 days of now single Prednisone But if I let it lapse - even an hour on the time of the Benedryl, fexofenadene - then I'm hitting the bathroom for steam - looking for guifensin - chugging the inhalers and coughing non-stop. So - it's just keeping it in check... It will pass soon -- Another 10 days or so...
1259389 tn?1271122219 I need help!!! I've had horrendous 'coughing spells' for over ten years. I've gone to several ENTs, Pulmonary Drs, GPs, Interal Med Drs, etc, who rarely spend the time to even listen to me and just prescribe the same old meds which don't work. I've been checked for allergies, asthma, lung problems, GERD, you name it...and I don't have any of them. I keep saying that it's some kind of post nasal drip that gets so severe that it sets off my gag reflex and the cough is productive.
172826 tn?1423426556 omg! i can't even imagine how scary that is trying to help your child breathe! i don't know much about asthma but i pray that your ds's condition gets better soon. can you tell me how he ended up being diagnosed w/ asthma?
Avatar m tn Were you put on oxygen before or after you took Advair and Spiriva? Advair was killing me (literally) and I quit Spiriva after only taking it briefly because it turned my lung secretions to glue. It is very drying. Anyway, if you went on oxygen after taking this garbage, find another doctor.
Avatar m tn At that time they called it non-A/non-B. I am very grateful that my insurance covered the cost of the Harvoni treatment because at $1,358.18 per pill x 84 pills, I would have never been able to afford it. I know there are many more who cannot.
1187071 tn?1279373298 He is on singulair and has been for about 4 years and it does really help he is also on advair and with that when he does get sick with a cold it won't get as bad, his asthma really acts up bad with his allgeries and colds. He has to see a specialist next week to talk about getting his toncils out cause they are soooo big and he is having trouble sleeping. I just hope when he does get them out he will be so much better.
Avatar n tn Once you get him tested, if he does have this allergy then you can read up more on what to do to help him as you get drops/shots to help him. Will you post back and let us know what you learn? Thanks and good luck to you.
Avatar f tn I also take advair and use the nebulizer 3-4 times per day.It appears that I do not respond well to the meds. The cough has become constant and the lidocaine was suggested to help surpress the cough. What I am concerned about is Lidocaine safe to inhale at home without the supervision of my Dr? Can there be any serious side effects? I am also having a hard time trying to find a pharmacy that will fill the prescription.
Avatar f tn Do this breathing technique to help with asthma symptoms. Your feedback will help others. Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after one minute.
967168 tn?1477588089 SO true, I once went to a doctor for a persistent cough (when I first put my daughter in day care). Sent me home with advair. The advair didn't work out. I never went back. Soon the cough went away. coupla years later I go to get life insurance. I tell them who my doctor is. they pull the file and see "asthma" written on the chart. Drove the rate up by 40%. I fought them and won. If what the doc wrote on the chart can be argued against, make the case!
1242443 tn?1268371732 The doctor there informed me that the palpitations (as I had learned that's what people called them) were caused by my use of the medication advair (It is also the only medication I was taking at that time and nothing else) He then prescribed me asmacort. I went to get the asmacort but was informed it was no longer on the market, and so I was prescribed pulmicort flexhaler.
380558 tn?1309045987 Wow, 4 kids......that should help keep your mind busy. I don't have children myself, but I do have nieces and nephews and when I quit it was not only for me, but to be a good example for them. Best wishes, good luck and keep posting.....
1737159 tn?1316676235 (Thankfully my rescue inhaler is now xopenex). Also I cannot have Advair or (or any other drug that contains sereven)t because it is known to affect the thyroid-- it even has a black box warning. I am not saying to stop using inhalers I am saying that there are known side effects! All prescription meds have some side effects. (I am not against prescriptions meds, I have quite a few different scripts for my health issues and I am thankful for how much they have helped me).
