Advair and proventil

Common Questions and Answers about Advair and proventil

advair

Avatar n tn It can be used occasionally, for transient worsening of COPD with Advair, and more regularly with Spiriva. If you find that you have a need for Proventil more than once a day, you should report that to your doctor who may then opt to increase your long acting medication.
Avatar m tn t have asthma, my RAD was only temporary, and that the Advair and Proventil would keep me breathing okay until it cleared up. That was 4 days ago. In general, my breathing is fine right when I wake up in the morning, before and after my morning dose of Advair and on the way into work. Not long after I get there, my chest tightens up and I have to work to get enough air most of the day, aside from when I distract myself with something for awhile.
Avatar m tn Usually it goes away on its own. I currently take advair, singulair, and proventil hfa. It seems to help with it some. I'm still working on getting asthma under good control though. None of the doctors I went to mentioned having this kind of problem until I flat out asked and they said yes it is pretty common.
Avatar n tn If you do not get that up, you could start having leg cramps. Advair and Symbicort can cause potassium and calcium levels to drop causing cramps. Take care and feel better.
746512 tn?1388807580 I asked my specialist once about it, and apparently it's based on the age of the technology. Sybmicort and Advair came out much later and are designed on a newer technology. Where as ventolin is more then 20 years old and they have never updated their technology. Usually these things are driven by costs, I guess the manufacturers don't feel the need or pressure to change the current working model.
Avatar f tn It would help open up my airways for about 5 minutes and then I would be short of breath again and unable to take a deep breath. I called the doctors office and they gave me another inhaler of Advair. I have been using that for two days now and I am able to take deep breaths. My chest doesn't hurt or feel tight anymore. However, my throat still feels like it's closing up.
1515545 tn?1291395764 m spending close to $200 a month for meds and vitamins. That includes 6 puffs of advair MDI a day - inhaler lasts 20 days (~$120), singulair - one package is 30 days ($40), ventolin 2-4 puffs a day - lasts 50 days ($7), atrovent ~6 puffs a week (forget how much, probably $10-14) plus the vitamin D, NAC, omega 3s, calcium and B complex that my respiralogoist recommended which cost roughly $80 a month.
Avatar f tn t breathe I take the proventil and then I start to panic and it takes awhile for the proventil to work. Is it normal that it takes awhile to work?
Avatar f tn I did still take the ProAir, which is a rescue inhaler. That started causing me problems. Now, I am on Proventil. I have read many reports on Advair and ProAir. Many people have problems with these 2 meds. There are programs through pharmacy companies that do supply people like us meds. One such program is Needy Meds. I though attempted to get the Spiriva through such a program. They turned me down on the Spiriva though. Said my husband made too much money.
Avatar n tn Hi, I use to take Klonapin which is like xanax and I use proventil. I never had a problem with it, but if you're worried you should ask your Dr. or pharmacist.

Avatar n tn Several months ago, I noticed asthma symptoms returning. I saw my pulmonary doc last week and he upped advair to 250/50. How long should it take until I see a noticeable change? Also I have been having a dry cough, which I read can be a side effect of advair. Should that go away eventually?
Avatar m tn I have moderate to advanced copd and take both advair and spriva. My hep doc didn't see any problem with it For me it came down to a choice of whether or not I wanted to stay of the oxygen tank.
1679876 tn?1304743615 I have been given Advair to take for my copd, but one side effect is fast and irregular heart beat, chest pain and increased BP----I take Metoprolol succ er for my PSVT--- -Will the Advair Diskus work against my metoprolol meds? 586504 tn?1226473165 , Singulair 10 mg, Proventil HFA Inhaler, and ADvair and a steroid shot. August 7 she went to the Pulmonologist and was told her X-Rays look fine and they did the Spirometer breathing 'test' in which she passed with flying colors! The only thing he could see was that she was "Holding" a little air somewhere and was put on Singulair again! It hasn't helped at all! Everytime we've been to the doctor she has had a 98% or better oxygen level and her blood pressure is good.
Avatar f tn Now, however, it has been two days post-extraction, and I wonder whether it is safe to use Advair without risk of dislodging the clots. I am also taking oral contraceptives (I have been informed that this medication may increase the risk for clotting problems). I am feeling more respiratory congestion with each additional day off Advair and would like to know if it's safe to use Advair so soon after wisdom teeth extraction. Thanks!
757137 tn?1347196453 Advair has a steroid in it, which can cause hair growth, etc. I took Advair for my COPD briefly. I simply did not like the side effects that it seem to give me.
Avatar n tn I am using advair for my asthma and it seems to help with those symptoms and I also have a rescue inhaler Flovent. But i do clean my advair diskus before and after each use. I dont have any infections in my mouth or lung i just have the white mucus and it has only been happening for two months and I have been using the advair about a year now. I heard from someone that the white mucus could be from allergies...is that true?
1580703 tn?1651904887 I was diagnosed with acute asthma last year and have been on symbicort/proventil for months, also singulair and took prednisone and methylprenisolone and I am still having breathing problems and chest tightness. taking some HC lately helped me breathe better and relax but still having breathing problems today. can you please help me??
5037123 tn?1362663006 Last week I was diagnosed with Asthma (through a breathing test) after two bouts with Bronchitis and lots of coughing. My doctor gave me Advair. After 3 doses I began getting back pain between my shoulder blades. Not sure if it was from the Advair I took another dose and the pain got worse. I contacted my doctor and he changed me to Symbicort. I had no problem for 3 days, but after today's dose the back pain is back. Is this typical or am I doing something wrong when inhaling.
Avatar n tn Candida can also infect your sinuses and just about any part of your body. Sugar and antibiotics also encourage the proliferation of candida.
Avatar f tn To my knowledge Advair® (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) has not been linked to strokes. Have you heard anything about this in the lay press?
Avatar m tn He told me my results were consistent with asthma and prescribed me Advair while also using Proair for relief. Its been one week and the Advair hasnt made my symptoms any better. Im starting to wonder if I have something other than asthma. Any thoughts/advice/feedback? Thank you in advance.
Avatar n tn I have emphysema. i use advair twice a day and spiriva one a day. The biggest problem for me is that I always seem to havemucus build up in the mornings. My doctor has told me to try mucinex, but that doesn't seem to work all the time. So i try using albuterol in the morning to help loosen up the mucus so that I can breath better.
1425157 tn?1311651679 i got bronchitis and the doc first put me on abuterol and it knocked my heart for a loop and then he put me on advair and it did the same thing so we just stopped it....they are obviously loaded w. steroids and we all know how great that is for all of us....i could call the doc and ask him/her if there is anything out there on the market that they can prescribe to you to keep your bronchials open w. no side effects of the adrenaline rushes....
