advair

Avatar n tn im on the advair and im on a scrpt of xanax..it helps...i was diagnosed with panic in 93..was on klopin 11 yrs now xanax...any benzo would help u..but xanax is more for panic,,or addrilin..
Avatar f tn I had been put on Advair and it really helped. Then I read that it causes osteoprosis (I'm menopausal, full hysterectomy) AND to make matters worse, can cause heart attacks? I don't understand why these two rather important little issues were never discussed with me. Can you please tell me what the real risks might be? Thanks.
Avatar f tn I was sent to do a Pulmonary Function Test which came back markedly abnormal. I have had several severe asthma attacks and am now on advair 250/50. My allergy test came back negative and it is not exercise induced. Any advise would be appreciated.
1425157 tn?1311651679 i got bronchitis and the doc first put me on abuterol and it knocked my heart for a loop and then he put me on advair and it did the same thing so we just stopped it....they are obviously loaded w. steroids and we all know how great that is for all of us....i could call the doc and ask him/her if there is anything out there on the market that they can prescribe to you to keep your bronchials open w. no side effects of the adrenaline rushes....
Avatar n tn Another approach might be to avoid these two combination drugs, Advair and Symbicort, and substitute individual inhalert for each of the two drugs (the inhaled steroid and the beta-agonist). You could then reduce the dose of the beta agonist but, unfortunately that could not be done with a metered dose inhaler; would require the use of a nebulizer. You should also discuss this with your doctor. I mentioned individual sensitivity to the beta-agonist class of drugs.
Avatar n tn it seems like advair is making my asthma worse. i started taking advair like 7 month ago and it seemed like for the first few months it was working but i had to become dependant on it everyday or else i would start weezing nonstop. after that my weezing was worst than ever and i started noticing that after i used advair my weezing was much worse. i saw this thread yesterday and now for a day and a half i havent used it and i feel alot better.
Avatar f tn I also have panic attacks and asthma and i take xanax and advaire for them I also have pvc's pac's and svt and i take 120 mg of inderal and 120 mg of verapamil and have noticed no problems to speak of. The inderal is a beta blocker and the verapamil is a calcium channel blocker I really haven't noticed either making my asthma worse. I guess if you are worried talk to your doctor and pharmacists and see what they recommend.
Avatar m tn I went back to the doc and he ordered a chest xray, blood tests and heart tests which all came back ok. Anyway, these symptoms have been occuring more and more regularly lately, on a day to day basis, which can be very unsettling. I havent had 1 day in the last month that I didnt feel short of breath and or my irregular breathing. I even went to a lung doctor and they did breathing tests.
Avatar f tn I take 500 MDI of Advair twice a day and spiriva. I still smoke a little a day. I also have to work in a hot humid kitchen in the summer. I started having panic attacks when I would get busy and I would get winded easily and fustrated. I am off work presently but I want to go back soon. Anyone in a similar situation and if so, any suggestions.
Avatar f tn I got off that poison three years ago and switched to natural anti-inflammatories. They work better and there are no side effects. As to what Advair did to me - osteoporosis, adrenal fatigue, candidiasis, and on and on. The candidiasis alone would have killed me if I had not been treated in time.
Avatar n tn I dont recommend coming off the advair though. The initial 3 days I had horrible congestion and wheezing that albuterol could not relieve. Funny doesnt sound like asthma if the albuterol doesnt help. I dont have productive coughs anymore after stopping the advair. It seems the advair was making the mucous come up like crazy. I am seeing a doctor in a couple of days to get a pft without the advair.
7748835 tn?1393868668 Before I use to take the inhaler and my coughing and shortness of breath and tightness would go away almost instantly. Now it's not helping and if it does it barely does anything. I'm thinking this medication isn't doing anything or helping me. I wanted to know what I should do. If I need to try other medications. I wanted to see if my doctor would think about duoneb? I got told it would be a big help if I did a few treatments a day.
Avatar m tn Thanks for the comments. It seems this is a fairly common aspect of asthma so I'm surprised my neither GP or pulmunologist seemed to mention it when I brought it up. I find that it usually reverses itself without the need for albuterol, but sometimes I do need a few puffs. Do both of you find these types of attacks short lived? I probably get these a few times a week.
975514 tn?1324997938 (1) Severe adrenal fatigue (sometimes unable to walk), and high cortisol resulting in anxiety and panic attacks. (2) Damage to and loss of head hair; development of facial hair. (3) Early stages of glaucoma and the development of cataracts. (4) Development of thick, tenacious mucus which exacerbatied existing chronic bronchitis, and resulting in constant cough and sometimes in choking episodes so severe that I feared for my life. I developed a problem with my sinuses.
757137 tn?1347196453 Because of serious side of effects of both Advair and an inhaled steroid that did not contain salmeterol, I now rely solely on a nebulizer and an antihistamine. I take supplements to reduce inflammation and thin mucus. I have moderate COPD and am doing fairly well, but would benefit from a longer-lasting medication. Any suggestions? Avatar n tn My pulmonary specialist just gave me an Advair Diskus and increased my Albuterol breathing treatments to 4-6 daily and my Combivent Inhaler every 4 hours. I almost died from an asthma attack last weekend. I had emergency heart surgery in June and have been having arrhythmias so I'm on a heart monitor for this month. I understand that Advair causes heart palpitations. Since I'm already having trouble with my heartbeat, I'm afraid to try the Advair.
Avatar n tn The FDA issued a warning last February concerning Advair. It should only be used when nothing else works, and even then, for only short periods of time. There are many serious side effects, including death (a pretty serious side effect). I have not heard of Advair causing bruising. How are you on vitamins? Lack of vitamin C, or any others?
Avatar f tn I have fitness induced asthma, and my doctor put me on advair or something like that. And the next few days after taking it, I got really bad chest pains when I'd run. Has that happened to anybody else? Should I worry?
Avatar f tn when i was training for half marathon last year, i had shortness of breath, so extensive testing of my lungs was done and i was told due to 20 plus years of asthma small airways in my lungs have narrowed and i was put on Advair 132/21 hfa inhaler. it helped open up my lung and i was told by more than one doctor to take this inhaler every day like people take blood pressure medicine everyday. so I did that ( i was on a blood pressure medicine too at the time 20mg of benicar).
Avatar n tn Several months ago, I noticed asthma symptoms returning. I saw my pulmonary doc last week and he upped advair to 250/50. How long should it take until I see a noticeable change? Also I have been having a dry cough, which I read can be a side effect of advair. Should that go away eventually?
1049259 tn?1295088478 I have panic attacks so I am sure that is wha it is. I ate funnyuns and thought maybe I was allergic to them then my heart started to face. What should i do? I can't take xanax cause I had a beer earlier and I don't mix.Any suggestions???
Avatar m tn t go away, which causes me some anxiety in that I think maybe I am having an attack but my rescue meds are not helping. I am 42 years old, normal weight and have been on Advair 500/50 for about 3 years. Xopenex is my rescue inhaler.
Avatar m tn I have moderate to advanced copd and take both advair and spriva. My hep doc didn't see any problem with it For me it came down to a choice of whether or not I wanted to stay of the oxygen tank.
