I currently am on Advair 5000, Singulair 10mg, Prednisone, Claritin, Mucinex, Flonase, Albuterol (fast and nebulizer) and Xolair injections every two weeks (300mg). To this date I still have problems weekly-monthly. I am not getting better. Coughing seems to be my biggest symptom, I cough so much and so hard that I start hyperventilating. My doctor says there is not much more he can do medicine wise. My life is totally a disaster.

m on Zyrtec, Singulair, Benadryl, Advair, Flonase, Astelin, Mucinex and STILL have drainage and chest/nasal congestion. Feeling rundown and tired and want to get over this. This is the second time I've been through somethine like this in 2011. Any advice would be appreciated.

Im currently on advair, singular, and flonase and with them I dont ever have these symptoms unless im doing any heavy activity. My doctors dont have a clue. My last visit I was told that I was hyperventilating. But why was I able to do everything the first two years in the Marine Corps? Did I just forget how to breath? I know there is something wrong, but I am at a loss as is my doctor. Has anyone else experienced this?

Several months ago, I noticed asthma symptoms returning. I saw my pulmonary doc last week and he upped advair to 250/50. How long should it take until I see a noticeable change? Also I have been having a dry cough, which I read can be a side effect of advair. Should that go away eventually?

Cajim, One more follow up, if that's allright. I recently stopped taking two forms of medication as I'm concerned that they may hamper my immune system's ability to fight this infection. I take "Advair" for asthma and "Flonase" to shrink nasal polyps (spelling). I believe both contain steroids that are localized for the region that they are supposed to treat.

I have moderate to advanced copd and take both advair and spriva. My hep doc didn't see any problem with it For me it came down to a choice of whether or not I wanted to stay of the oxygen tank.

I have been given Advair to take for my copd, but one side effect is fast and irregular heart beat, chest pain and increased BP----I take Metoprolol succ er for my PSVT--- -Will the Advair Diskus work against my metoprolol meds? I am alllergic to Penasylin, tetrocycoline, decadron, dyphahidromine, and benedril. My other meds I take are: zolof, welbrutrin, seroquel xr, gabapentine,tizanidine hcl and pravastatin sodium----will there be any adverse reactions to any of these meds?

Now, however, it has been two days post-extraction, and I wonder whether it is safe to use Advair without risk of dislodging the clots. I am also taking oral contraceptives (I have been informed that this medication may increase the risk for clotting problems). I am feeling more respiratory congestion with each additional day off Advair and would like to know if it's safe to use Advair so soon after wisdom teeth extraction. Thanks!

Advair has a steroid in it, which can cause hair growth, etc. I took Advair for my COPD briefly. I simply did not like the side effects that it seem to give me.

I take Allegra, Zyrtec, Claritin, Flonase and singular, albuterol nebs and inhaler, also famotidine 2x daily I was on advair for 2months and he said stop because it did nothing for me other than change sputum from slimy to chunky and is quite pricey for no results. For kicks and giggles I have started taking garden of life immune sinus balance and clearlungs which I can honestly say for a month I felt a little different 20min after taking the herbal stuff but not so much anymore.

Last week I was diagnosed with Asthma (through a breathing test) after two bouts with Bronchitis and lots of coughing. My doctor gave me Advair. After 3 doses I began getting back pain between my shoulder blades. Not sure if it was from the Advair I took another dose and the pain got worse. I contacted my doctor and he changed me to Symbicort. I had no problem for 3 days, but after today's dose the back pain is back. Is this typical or am I doing something wrong when inhaling.

To my knowledge Advair® (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) has not been linked to strokes. Have you heard anything about this in the lay press?

He told me my results were consistent with asthma and prescribed me Advair while also using Proair for relief. Its been one week and the Advair hasnt made my symptoms any better. Im starting to wonder if I have something other than asthma. Any thoughts/advice/feedback? Thank you in advance.

I have emphysema. i use advair twice a day and spiriva one a day. The biggest problem for me is that I always seem to havemucus build up in the mornings. My doctor has told me to try mucinex, but that doesn't seem to work all the time. So i try using albuterol in the morning to help loosen up the mucus so that I can breath better.

first two were done 20-25 yrs ago. Went on 20mg/day oral steroids cause asthma not controlled with Advair 500, Flonase and Singulair. Titrating down now/ 2 weeks. Every time try to sinus rinse, goes in ears. Tried sinus flush method, went in ears and hurts. Do I find the best clinic in country for this and f/u with local ENT, or go to a 3rd ENT here in Central Il. and hope for best? Where do I go? How do I find out why my immune system got whacked?

i got bronchitis and the doc first put me on abuterol and it knocked my heart for a loop and then he put me on advair and it did the same thing so we just stopped it....they are obviously loaded w. steroids and we all know how great that is for all of us....i could call the doc and ask him/her if there is anything out there on the market that they can prescribe to you to keep your bronchials open w. no side effects of the adrenaline rushes....

Two regimens of antibiotics have proven to be ineffective. I am using daily the generic equivalent of Flonase, am also taking an antihistamine, Advair, and doing nasal irrigation with a neti pot. I have also had a chest XRay, which my physician said was clear. An ENT doctor examined my nose and throat using a camera probe and indicated that my vocal cords were slightly infamed -- but that was about it. Even with all that, I can't seem to shake this condition loose.

I dont recommend coming off the advair though. The initial 3 days I had horrible congestion and wheezing that albuterol could not relieve. Funny doesnt sound like asthma if the albuterol doesnt help. I dont have productive coughs anymore after stopping the advair. It seems the advair was making the mucous come up like crazy. I am seeing a doctor in a couple of days to get a pft without the advair.

I used flonase for a week and got better with my cough and then I stopped. Afterwards my cough came back and I saw a doctor and he told me do not use flonase which makes me cough. I am confused?

I take allegra, advair, flonase and singulair daily. In recent months I have started getting dry chunks of weird stuff coming from the base of my sinuses, I think. It usually happens when I clear my throat or brush my teeth. It is semi soft, grainy when squished, yellow and about the size of a large pea or even larger. Should I be concerned? I work at an envelope manufacturing plant with lots of paper dust. I have for 17 yrs. Could it be paper dust? If so, why now? I am 35 yrs old and female.
