Just finished reading your comments. You need to call your doctor's receptionist. Ask for a follow up appointment. Tell your doctor what symptoms you are experiencing. If the pain is unbearable and you're having a sharp pain in your chest when you take a deep breath and you have pain on the right side of your back between your spine and your shoulder blade, you have to share this with your doctor asap. Hello, I am a 26 year old female who never smoked and has no history of asthma in the family.
For the past 9 months, I've been experiencing a mild shortness of breath, sometimes accompanied by a sharp (and sometimes dull) pain on the left side of my chest just above the breast. I've noticed the sharp pains from time to time when I inhale deeply or when I exhale fast and hard. I don't wheeze or cough like many asthmatics do.
I dont recommend coming off the advair though. The initial 3 days I had horrible congestion and wheezing that albuterol could not relieve. Funny doesnt sound like asthma if the albuterol doesnt help. I dont have productive coughs anymore after stopping the advair. It seems the advair was making the mucous come up like crazy. I am seeing a doctor in a couple of days to get a pft without the advair.
I would never advise someone who is experiencing chest pain not be checked out by a doctor,however chest pain is a fairly common symptom of "hemolytic anemia " caused by the early destruction of red blood cells brought on by Ribavirin.
Again..chest pain should always be checked,however hopfully it calms you somewhat knowing it is very common with tx.

What is hemolytic anemia?
Chest pain is not a symptom of chronic lung disease, be it asthma or COPD, so your doctors should try to determine what else might be causing your pain. Chest pain that feels like a band across the chest is usually associated with coronary artery disase but lung diseases other than COPD can also cause such a pain. If you've not had a chest X-ray, that should be done.And, you may want to consider gettingt a 2nd opinion about the chest pain.
Did you have a pulmonary function test to see how your lungs are performing? You're on a fair dose of inhaler. The symptoms of asthma can be quite variable. You can have shortness of breath, coughing, chest tightness or wheezing all at once or if mildly symptomatic your only symptom might be some chest tightness or a cough. For me, I only make wheezing sounds when I'm in a rather bad state, where as most people would make wheezing sounds way sooner.
I went back to the doc and he ordered a chest xray, blood tests and heart tests which all came back ok. Anyway, these symptoms have been occuring more and more regularly lately, on a day to day basis, which can be very unsettling. I havent had 1 day in the last month that I didnt feel short of breath and or my irregular breathing. I even went to a lung doctor and they did breathing tests.
The sensation is like when you have a chest cold and you cough, burning like the lungs are irritated. I am currently on Advair 250 and my peak flows rarely fall below 75% of my max, and never near my "red" zone. Still, I get this burning sensation and sometimes just general chest discomfort. I do not usually experience shortness of breath or wheezing at the same time. Sometimes using my rescue inhaler offers relief, sometimes not. I awake at night with this discomfort too.

Had terrible pains in upper, lower chest and back. Was given Advair. Took the Advair twice. Had awful chest pains from it. Stopped taking Advair. Went back to Dr's, was diagnosed with Pleurisy. Given Naproxan for inflammation. Took a chest x-ray 2 weeks ago. Was told it was clear.

I have had several problems with advair such as thrush and irregular heart beat. Also, my endocrinologist suggested that my osteopinia (sp?) could be related to advair use but it's just one possible culprit. I'm a runner and just finished a marathon and got thrush again from advair so decided I wanted to at least take a break from it. Well, it's been a few days and I have never had such breathing problems before I used advair, I have a constant headache and I'm exhausted.
Hello, I'm a 45 year old man, in pretty good shape. Workout every other day 5'11" 185lbs. History of seasonal allergies and sinsus problems. No history of Asthma. In November 2015, I had a really bad allergic reaction to a coworkers perfume and had a very difficult time recovering from it. In February 2016, my doctor prescribed Advair 250/50, once a day and Singulair 10mg at bedtime.
A pulmonologist put me on Advair and Prilosec. I went to an ENT for the dizziness, and they found nothing. I had an MRI that was negative. I saw a neurologist for the dizziness and headaches, and they found nothing.
Since March, I have been getting sick with cold/flu symptoms (fever, aches, congestion, cough, stuffy nose, sore throat, nausea) almost every month. I had a chest x-ray, and it showed nothing. I took antibiotics,, but they did not help. I am seeing an allergist in a few weeks.
I quit smoking 4 1/2 months ago, and I'm still not coughing. Every once and a while I sneeze, and now that I'm taking Advair for asthma, I now clear my throat a lot. I smoked for 20 years. Should I be worried?
Every now and then, i will have random chest pains, and then i will black out, but not completly to where i fall down unconscious. Its a really wierd sensation. Once i start blacking out, my head goes numb, then my arms, and it just keeps going down my body. sometimes it stops before i lose control of my legs, other times it doesnt and i just fall. I have been to the hospital and primary doctor, and they cant find anything wrong with me.
( For the past month had increasing chest tightness, pain and just feeling breathless on stairs etc. Lung doc changed me to Adavair, and after a week I still felt more pain, tightness so I went to walk in. After consulting my asthma doc they decided to give me a course of steroids to nip the attack in the bud. I started prednisone yesterday (30mg) and then developped a bad cold (which is probably why my asthma was flairing since I was coming down with a cold).
I have had all allergy skin and blood tests (with the exception of the dermo patch test)and chest xrays which were all negative. I take zytec and singulaire and have had 3 steroid shots this calendar year. Heat and humidity seem to bring out the symptoms. I am trying to determine possible causes. Can you please assist?
