Avatar f tn Your daughter is three years of age? ADD is Attention Deficit Disorder. ADHD is Attention Deficit Hyperactivity disorder. Even though they are both attention disorders, they are quite different. Your daughter is three years old; she is going to be hyper, she is going to have more energy than your whole family combined, just as well as every other three year old out there. I have a three year old of my own which inhibits every behavior you mentioned.
Avatar n tn I don’t think that her stubborn nature is linked with any neurological disorder here since it could be a normal phenomenon of an ADHD (attention deficit hyperactive disorder) child who reacts quite differently in such situation due to poor attention span. Avatar n tn //www.healing-arts.org/children/ADHD/ Meds might well help you - or not. There really is only one way to find out. If you do have ADHD you won't get dependent on them. If you don't have ADHD, they can be seriously addicting. For that reason alone (plus a bunch or others), you need to see a doctor that can help you. I would try to find a psychologist or psychiatrist that specials in ADHD. Stay away from your general MD.
707438 tn?1240959640 Hey frustrated, I have seen lots of posts during the last year or so on this forum forum from people with adult ADHD. Many of them were from seriously frustrated people. Do a search for "adult ADHD" in the search box and then tell it to show you all posts. While many of these people may no longer be online, I think you will find it nice to know that you are not the only one out there facing these problems.
Avatar f tn I agree, I would have your pediatrician assess him for ADHD, but I would also consider Sensory Disintegration Disorder. This behavior is not so different from a child who has suffered a trauma or loss (been hurt, loss in the family, parents separated).
