Adult add symptoms sleepiness

Common Questions and Answers about Adult add symptoms sleepiness

Avatar m tn Of course, the whole relationship with the parents thing if caused by you constantly getting into trouble (and negative attention in elementary school), is also a sign of ADHD. If you want to gather more info, two sites aimed at the adult ADD sufferer that you might want to check out are and  While they are aimed at ADD adults, that's pretty much where most adults are at.

1216899 tn?1288573925 Phyllis, thankyou for your words. I can also add palpitations and heat intolerence to my list of symptoms (so may that I have probably missed loads out!!). The heat thing is quite servere, I literally can not stand hot weater at all, and have not been on a typical 'summer holiday' for years because of it. My temperature is generally huigher than it should be (normally pushing 38), so I'm guessing this may have something to do with the fact I can not stand the heat.Who knows!
473036 tn?1211760512 Thanks Cryslas, the symptoms also sound like some of the ones for adult ADD what is hypersexuality? in women can these symptoms get worse when you are all hormonal and due for a period, especially the depressive feelings?
Avatar n tn You were not specific on the symptoms you experience, but my guess is that when you exercise you don't drink water, or you sweat to excess. This will dehydrate you and you will lose salt and other minerals. You can experience shaking of the hands, visual disturbances, headaches, stomach aches, stitches in the sides, exhaustion, low grade temps and other unpleasant symptoms. If this is the case, try drinking a fluid that has minerals in it like Cytomax.
Avatar n tn I can be tired after 12 hours sleep! Can I be suffering symptoms from my thallassemia. Does any one else feel the same way that I do? This is a little bit hard for me, but I don't want to complain.
Avatar n tn The problem is sometimes those pregnancy symptoms are an awful lot like period symptoms (it's a bummer that nature works that way). But either way, I started having sore breasts and slight nausea within about a week or so after my IUI. The IUI worked and I did get pregnant... so although everyone is different, the symptoms started rather early for me. We'll cross our fingers for you and hopefully you'll have some good news in a week or so!
Avatar n tn Is there an anti-depressant which does not cause such symptoms in order to get through over-whelming episodes in ones life? Most of the time I am just fine except when it relates to my family and the non-stop difficulties occurring. Family History is complicated and very long! Also, when on elavil, I was sleeping at the wheel of my car....!! When on trofanil, I reacted to minor issues with aggressive behavior and felt so bad, I folded into a fetal postion in the next room after the problem.
Avatar f tn It has worked well curbing these symptoms up until just recently - the symptoms have returned- not as frequently but more severe than prior to the Zoloft (I'm sure puberty has something to do with it) so doc suggested new meds. He has been recieving CBT from a psychologist for over 5 years which has been helpful. Any info you can share about these meds - especially pertaining to weight gain, sleepiness/sleeplessness, irritability or agitation, and hyperactivity? Better to take in am or pm?
Avatar m tn What might take 5 years for an adult is taking way less time for your young child. Though the self harm and insomnia, I can see how you have no choice. On the other hand, at the rate doctors are giving her meds, my fear is she will have no options less by the time she is 10, when natural hormones will kick in and possibly amplify the effects of her issues. So, my kid would have been put on meds had I tried to make him fit in or sit in a chair in school.
1260255 tn?1288658164 I am undiagnosed. I have to agree with everyone here, too. I just went through something similar. I automatically thought "neuro symptoms". But several people said it was also symptoms of TA. I finally relented and went and had it checked. I went through all the testing and it turned out it was not a TA. What you are describing could also be a TA...and TA's are warning signs and should NOT be your symptoms should not.
1225331 tn?1333369369 Just to throw this out there. Here is a list of symptoms that go along w/ tick borne illness....note the cat scratch fever symptoms as well.
Avatar f tn I also found a source that said if the cyst has been present since birth, symptoms tend to develop in adolescent and young adult years. My neurologist just kind ignored the whole situation. I am definitely going to a second neurologist with the MRI reports to get another opinion, but until that appointment, I'm trying to do as much research as I possibly can so that I can be prepared with questions. My parents and I are losing patience because no one can seem to find what is wrong with me.
Avatar dr m tn This is just a small sampling of studies that all suggests that the process of Alzheimer’s begins long before you develop symptoms. Add to this the fact that Alzheimer’s patients also have a higher incidence of depression and heart disease. And lastly, there’s a general consensus amongst Alzheimer’s researchers that this condition is a small vessel disease.
Avatar m tn “this adult has some mild symptoms as well as some difficulty in social and occupational functioning. Generally, though, he functions pretty well. He also has some meaningful interpersonal relationships." The bar is set quite high by government departments in order for my wife to get a Caregiver’s Allowance and so it is that she and I have not seriously considered applying for such an allowance. My symptoms are not sufficiently extreme for her to qualify as my Caregiver.
Avatar n tn How would you know if you are a person who needs a little more HC? What kind of symptoms would you have? I live with such exhaustion and depression there are some days I think I just don't want to go on--no, I'm not suicidal. However, many of my hormone, vitamin and mineral levels are still lower than my doc would like, although there are within lab ranges--my doc seems to want most things to be in the upper levels of the lab ranges--and some even higher than what lab ranges say.

429700 tn?1308011423 I have an adult friend on this medicine. She is not using it for MS. My only warning is she complains of losing weight and getting a headache as she comes down from it i hope it works for you.
Avatar f tn I've suspected my thyroid for many years and have most of the common symptoms, especially fatigue. My thyroid is enlarged, several OBGYNs have told me this, but labs always normal. My most recent labs are: TSH - 3.18 Free T4 - 1.28 with a range of .75 - 1.8 Free T3 - 3.0 with a range of 2.5-3.9 Any idea what's going on. I'm told the endo treats symptoms, but I'm worried my numbers are too normal to get the help I need. Thanks for any feedback!
1696489 tn?1370825574 I am not happy with this... i am having severe headaches and sleepiness, with loss of motivation. Is this due to ativan withdrawals or should I ask my doctor for a higher dose of klonopin once i am off ativan?
233622 tn?1279338505 I took Wellbutrin for several years and recently went back on it for a year. No weight gain, no sexual side effects, no sleepiness. Those are the good things. Wellbutrin when i first started it made me slightly agitated and a little manic. Those side effects wore off as I got used to the medicine. To counter the side effect of the agitation my doctor precribed buspar (antianxotic). That combo worked very well for many years.
Avatar m tn Today, I'm a little gooney but my thought process seems better, I'm not quite as foggy and I don't feel like I must sleep. I should add that my legs and feet are pain free!!! Is this the normal acclimation process for this drug?
410281 tn?1254232664 When I mentioned it to my PCP and Neurologist they dont think it has any anything to do with my current symptoms. I think it does but I dont have any proof of it. Many of symptoms are global throughout my body with the exception the intentional tremors, jumpy eyes and pins and needles. They are a happening on my left side which was the side affected by the Bell's Palsy.
Avatar f tn 5 normal) What does this mean? Doctor said due to allergies (hay fever) but I have NO symptoms of allergies. I do have a middle ear infection. I swim A LOT and didn't do the best job getting my ears dry. However, that's not bad. It doesn't hurt. I went to doc to get it checked because it was itching and sounding clogged. Other than that. Zero symptoms. However, I have been having other "odd" things going on. They include Trigeminal neuralgia (MRI indicated nothing.
387660 tn?1242600342 We are trying to look into environmental causes of your sleepiness since you have noted that this only occurs while you are driving. Have you had your car checked lately ? Do keep us posted with your answers.

154327 tn?1210116994 For meds, I am on 20 mg Lexapro (PMDD/Anxiety), 18 mg Strattera (supposedly for ADD but amazingly enough it helps the physical symptoms of the anxiety best of all), 100 mg Provigil (excessive day time sleepiness) It took my about 3 years of hell-through-trial-and-error to find the combo that works for me. I hope everyone finds relief soon. Oh yeah... I have some problems with sinuses as well (in fact- that's what I've been researching tonight).
