acne

1388445 tn?1289267388 About a year ago my husband started developing adult acne. He's 26 years old. Since then it has just gotten worse and worse. It now covers his cheeks, most of his fore-head and down his neck and its starting to scar. It seems like we've tried everything! over the counter acne soaps, creams, lotions, pro-active, prescrisption medication, good hygene; washing his face alot. Sometimes it gets to the white head but some are just bumps. it looks, like irritated.
Avatar f tn I have bumps all over my cheeks. They are the same color as my skin and only can be seen at an angle in the sunlight or a bright light. One derm said acne and the other said rosacea. Both do not fit. It’s like just like uneven texture. If you run your hands over my cheeks they feel smooth.
Avatar n tn sounds like an adult version of acne known as acne rosacea- google it or check google images - it is completely different to the teenage form of acne vulgaris
Avatar n tn I have a rash on my face that started about 4 days ago, I don't know what it is but it is REALLY itchy, It's mostly concentrated on my cheeks, and forehead. Mostly my cheeks though, and it extends to my neck and ears. I do have a history of mild acne which has occurred on my forehead and chin but nothing to this extent. I'm dark skinned, or more like tanned so when i get acne i do have hyperpigmentation. Would cortisone help? If not is there any medication you could suggest.
Avatar n tn Now I have persistant and large acne on my cheeks and jawline, including cystic acne. The acne is ever present and not just once a month. My current dermo (not the one who proscribed Accutane) tells me that it's hormonal (I believe this) and that I will just have to deal with it for the rest of my life (I don't want to accept this). She does Cortosone injections on occasion for the cysts because I cannot, for the life of me, leave my face alone.
Avatar n tn When I suffer from these breakouts, I mostly get VERY itchy red bumps on my forehead, my cheeks and whiteheads on the sides of my nose. I try not to touch them other than when I am cleansing (mild facial cleanser [Kiehls' brand]), or applying moisturizer (Nivea for men). I am not doing anything new in terms of grooming habits or using new products, and these outbreaks remain a mystery. I tried applying OTC benzoyle peroxide the last time I had an outbreak, but it did no good.
Avatar m tn I have these reoccuring painful pimples on the side of my nose, on the cartilage of my ears, sometimes on my cheeks. These pimples are hard, painful, and usually do not produce any pus when squeezed. Any idea as to what they are? I thought at first rosecea? thank you.
Avatar f tn I started having pimples when i just turned 16 . Mostly on my forehead and occasionally on my cheeks . Used to control them with face washes and topicals. After 6 months my forehead cleared up but during that time period i had minor breakouts now and then on my cheeks but they mostly cleared up . After that i started getting a lot of pimples on my cheeks so the dermatologist put me on antibiotics for 3-4 months.
Avatar f tn I recently moved to a very warm state, and even though I've always had naturally rosy cheeks, I've recently been getting small bumps on my cheeks. I'm wondering if this is due to sunburn. What should I do in order to make the bumps go away?
Avatar m tn I am 25 years old, have suffered form adult acne since i was about 14 and had been experiencing lower abdominal pain on my left side for several years. In the last couple of years, I started experiencing hot flashes accompanied by moderate-severe anxiety and depression. Just as an aside, I studied psychology for several years and have earned, not only my bachelors in psych, but also several certifications and honors surrounding my degree ( I start my masters in a couple of months!).
Avatar f tn I have had for the past 2 years small red bumps on my face in top of my nose, cheeks, around the nose, forehead, etc...I get red but not as much like other people. I used Elidel for 11/2 years and it worked great now I had to stop because of fear that it causes cancer. I have been using metrogel for 8 days but at first it was great and now my pimples are starting to come out again is that part of the process???
Avatar n tn okay my ex wife shaved her face and it was raw and scraped red and raw, then my son stayed with her and now has herpes like sores on cheek below eye... is that possible?
Avatar n tn Oh, I'm sorry to hear about this. Skin problems are so emotional in nature too because of how we all are about our appearance. But you are not alone. When the health crisis blows over, seeing a dermatologist may be of benefit to you. They do have things they can prescribe. Retin-A is one of them. Some women also have success going on birth control pills when they have adult acne. Make sure your make up isn't contributing to the issue as well.
Avatar f tn Two dermos said there was nothing they could do for me...that it was adult acne. They said to try glycolic and salicylic acid peels. I have tried both for about a year and 30% salicylic acid seems to work the best as far as providing a good peel. This seems to thin the skin surface to make the whiteheads pop easier. My face is still filled with them and I see no end. I have even used wart remover on them which causes scabs but sometimes works.
Avatar f tn So skip to two months after sleeping over my cousins house my acne has incredibly worsened on my cheeks and I am worried that it will stay this way for a while. New aggresive Whitehead’s have formed. I don’t have cystic acne but I need help with what I should apply to my face to fix my skin and restore it to how it used to be. I have oily acne prone skin but after my sleepover my acne cheeks have dried a little.
Avatar n tn Over the last month I keep getting blisters on my chin, my cheeks, under my hair in the back of my neck. What is this from?
Avatar m tn The acne worsened throughout the year into cystic acne on the cheeks when I moved overseas. I lived overseas for a year, then moved back to the states, where all my acne disappeared for two months. It returned again slowly, starting out with a small rash (which went away with Desonide Cream .05%), then milia/whiteheads all over my cheeks, and then red pimples with white pus spreading from my cheeks to my chin now.
1621010 tn?1298962783 I have had a breakout on both cheeks on my face for a week now. One day I just woke up, and it was there. I haven't used any new, or tried any new foods. A week ago, I was hospitalized for asthma, a server sinusitis infection on the left-side of my face, and was given steroids, antibiotics, potassium (it was low), and insulin due to the steroids raising my blood sugars. Normally I'm non-insulin dependant. Please give me any idea what this could possibly be.
Avatar m tn I always had very clear skin even during teenage years, but all of a sudden in past year I just started breaking out on my forehead, chin, cheeks...really bad breakouts starting red, some have white heads that pop eventually...first I thought that waxing causes it and stopped, but nothing helps...no systems, nothing....I haven't had any amounts of stress, no real change in diet, I do take birthcontrol pills every couple of months, but break outs started before i started on them...
Avatar n tn s getting to the point where I really need help, because it affects my self-esteem. I think it is adult acne and rosacea, but not sure. I was hoping somebody could tell me what it is and if this could be treated with laser and if the insurance would likely pay for it (united). I don't like the idea of taking antibiotics over a long term. Thanks a lot.
Avatar f tn hi, i have quite enlarged pores on my cheeks now. i don’t have acne or anything i actually have very clear skin, but slight eczema. i’m thinking maybe it’s because i have an infected lymph node or something that my systems are down now and everything is unregulated, i’m unsure. i really don’t know what to do because i can not find a product that unclogged the pores but isn’t for acne.
Avatar n tn Hi Rosacea is a differential for any acne like rash on the area of the face. The involvement of the cheeks and the nose may strengthen the diagnosis. The area of the cheeks and the nose are usually involved as well as the eyes. The rash of rosacea appears to be thick and this may present with spider like veins on the surface of the skin. When these are present then the rash of rosacea is likely. Topical antibiotics are usually given for rosacea.
Avatar f tn Well, my skin gets hard bumps under the skin which arent pimples and they will form permenant red marks on my face. I also have three spots on my cheeks near my nose that have thickening skin and contu=inuously flake off and turn red and repeat continuously. Nothing seems to help..I went to a doctor and they said I have rosacea but I really don't think that is what it is, I ve been put on doryx and metrogel to helkp and it just seems to be getting worse.
Avatar n tn 27 yo male. I have been dealing with red cheeks for years. Its not acne, and I dont think its rosacea because I ONLY have it on my cheeks. Also, whenever I workout, run, drink, sit in a hot tub, my cheeks get VERY red. They are not just red all over. They are only red in a shape that is not symmetrical. Both blotches cover approx the same amount of area but the shapes of the redness is slightly different. These red areas have a clear border.
