acne

Avatar m tn I am 25 years old, have suffered form adult acne since i was about 14 and had been experiencing lower abdominal pain on my left side for several years. In the last couple of years, I started experiencing hot flashes accompanied by moderate-severe anxiety and depression. Just as an aside, I studied psychology for several years and have earned, not only my bachelors in psych, but also several certifications and honors surrounding my degree ( I start my masters in a couple of months!).
Avatar m tn Hello, For premature acne, if the acne is protected from the sunlight and sometimes an antioxidant treatment if applied in the initial stage to cure the lesions of acne then it can be cured at the beginning. Then medical treatment is the same as adult acne i.e initially benzoyl peroxide and topical antibiotics are used. But they are to be used under medical supervision and not one one’s own.
Avatar f tn Can anyone recommend an acne treatment for those cystic acne bumps that take forever to go away? I'm 46 and did Accutane in my 20s with pretty good results until the last several years. I've had the most success with Pro Active, but my skin got really itchy when I wore mineral powder makeup and I kept ruining towels, pillowcases and shirts. I've also tried Acne Free, Murad and Dermatologic plus prescription cream with no luck.
Avatar n tn sounds like an adult version of acne known as acne rosacea- google it or check google images - it is completely different to the teenage form of acne vulgaris
Avatar n tn Now I have persistant and large acne on my cheeks and jawline, including cystic acne. The acne is ever present and not just once a month. My current dermo (not the one who proscribed Accutane) tells me that it's hormonal (I believe this) and that I will just have to deal with it for the rest of my life (I don't want to accept this). She does Cortosone injections on occasion for the cysts because I cannot, for the life of me, leave my face alone.
Avatar n tn I am in the same boat as you - i started getting acne when i was 21 which i though was a little odd. My dermatologist told me it is common in adult females as it is usually hormonal; however, i refuse to take birth control because i believe the harmful effects outweigh the benefits. I am on perscription to calm the inflammation but for more of a sustainable long-term solution it is important to focus on a low glycemic diet as refined sugars tend to effect hormones.
Avatar f tn s effect on acne but I do have a suggestion to the acne treatment. My son uses Clindamycin Pledgets twice a day and I will say that they work for him. He also follows a very healthy diet with plenty of fruits and veggies, avoid junk foods (ie chips, pizza, sweets, etc). He drinks green tea twice a day but doubles up on the tea bags to get more of the green tea. He squeezes fresh lemon in his water once a day and drinks lots of water the rest of the day to detoxify his system.
Avatar f tn Thank you for your response, I appreciate it.
Avatar f tn Hello everyone! What are your non-intestinal symptoms of Crohn's? How long did it take you to receive a diagnosis? Did the doctor's suspect a different GI issue first? I've been exhausted and hopeless with all the tests and trials to figure out whats wrong and none of my systems seem to be related with any other issue. I'm also very intoverted, so trying to even communicate what's wrong has been a struggle for me.
Avatar n tn Finally after a year (of always having at least 1 sore on my face, during the summer as many as 8 small ones at a time) of trying to battle what I thought was adult on set acne, I saw a dermatologist who said he thought it my be impetigo/ecythyma. I was but on Bactroban cream and after about 8 weeks, most sores cleared up. However, the damn things come back. Question 1.
6884018 tn?1385765042 I have checked the photographs and they are suggestive of adult acne. The pimples around the mouth can be due to perioral dermatitis which is a rash that develops around the mouth characterised by multiple small (1 - 2 mm) papules, pustules or vesicles which are localised to the perioral skin (around the mouth) or nasolabial folds (around the nostrils). Although it is found mainly in women, but men can also be effected.
Avatar n tn I am a fair-skinned 57 yearold woman who has been on Retinoids since I was thirty due to adult female acne. I was on Renova for a few years, then Tazarotene, but now am on generic Retin-A 0.01% for cost reasons. My other meds are for mood, allergy, hypothyrhoid, cholesterol, and hormone-replacement therapy. My skin is lovely except for enlarged pores on my nose and flakes around my nostrils. I can pull them off one at a time with tweezers, but it's very time consuming.
Avatar n tn I have suffered a similar adult acne story as Sean who posted 7th Sept 1999. I am 25 years old Female. I had typical acne from an early age (11 years old) and received Roacutane (same as Accutane I think) when I was 15 years old. It worked a treat but 9months after I had finished treatment the acne returned. Over the years I have been on 3 treatments of Roacutane for about 18months each with the same result about 9 months later.
Avatar n tn Oh, I'm sorry to hear about this. Skin problems are so emotional in nature too because of how we all are about our appearance. But you are not alone. When the health crisis blows over, seeing a dermatologist may be of benefit to you. They do have things they can prescribe. Retin-A is one of them. Some women also have success going on birth control pills when they have adult acne. Make sure your make up isn't contributing to the issue as well.
Avatar n tn Hello, From your symptoms perioral dermatitis and adult acne are important possibilities. It occurs due to hormonal imbalance at this age. Just keep you face clean by washing with a mild soap atleast twice a day. Pat it dry and do not rub it. Avoid picking or pressing the acne. You can also use Benzoyl peroxide 5% lotion or gel once at bedtime. An amount of lotion the size of a pea should be enough to cover most of your face.
Avatar m tn Rosacea also causes the appearance of small blood vessels, or telangiectasias, on the face; adult acne; itchy, burning eyes; and in the late stages, a red, bulbous nose. The red, burning face can occur unpredictably or in response to certain triggers. The most common triggers of facial flushing in order are: Sun Exposure,Emotional Stress, Hot Weather, Alcohol, Spicy Foods, Exercise,Wind etc. The most effective treatment of facial flushing today is avoiding triggers.
Avatar m tn t know if it bleed or not in that time, after I come home I found the acne area is red, there is a blood spot inside the skin. I feel a little pain when I touch it. I am worried that she left her own blood on my acne. Is it able for me to get infected HIV? 2.The lady used the hot eggs and oil to rub my testis, penis and the head of penis. 11083698 tn?1415151204 Hello, I have had a strong craving for salt for many years now. Close to seven years. I eat salt by itself everyday I feel like I need it. If I get to feeling really tired or weak I eat salt and I perk up. I also have bad adult acne, and I never really had acne as a teenager. I'm not sure if these two things are anywhere near related to each other, but if anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them.
Avatar m tn Hello, Fusidic acid and minocycline are both antibiotics which are used for the treatment of acne. Treatment options include topical and oral antibiotics, topical retinoids, hormonal therapy, dermabrasion , phototherapy and laser resurfacing. Normally a combination of treatments is followed and if nothing proves effective then dermabrasion and laser therapy are useful. You can discuss these treatment options with your dermatologist.
1388445 tn?1289267388 About a year ago my husband started developing adult acne. He's 26 years old. Since then it has just gotten worse and worse. It now covers his cheeks, most of his fore-head and down his neck and its starting to scar. It seems like we've tried everything! over the counter acne soaps, creams, lotions, pro-active, prescrisption medication, good hygene; washing his face alot. Sometimes it gets to the white head but some are just bumps. it looks, like irritated.
Avatar m tn Could be adult acne. Could be folliculitis from heat and sweat. Pimples only produce clear juice if you squeeze them, and that always keeps things from healing. So please leave them alone and have a doctor check them out before you decide that these aren't regular pimples. They sound pretty regular to me. Take care. Dr.
