Avatar f tn • Patients with POTS scored significantly higher on inattention and ADHD subscales than control subjects. These symptoms were not present during childhood. Conclusions: Patients with POTS do not have an increased lifetime prevalence of psychiatric disorders. Although they may seem anxious, they do not have excess cognitive anxiety. 1752816 tn?1312180299 bipolar II, adhd, anxiety, and post traumatic stress disorder. Some days I don't want to do anything just because of all the pain. My family and I agree that bipolar II is not likely...I am not depressed. The mania and the ADHD seem so similar. I am currently on amphetamine salts for ADHD, Lithium for Bipolar, and Trazadone for sleep and anxiety. I do not want to be on all of this.
Avatar n tn pdf before you read the journal i want you to know that i am extremely adhd, and so is my son, now i blamed myself for a very long time because i believed that his developmental problems was a result of me taking paxil when i was pregnant, but the more i research this, the evidence pointts more toward genetics than anything else do not drown yourself in a sea of guilt, the past is the past, we can move forward by doing the next right thing early in recovery i did this parenting in recovery wo
Avatar m tn I am 44. Recently diagnosed with inattentive ADHD. I have all types of memory problems, focus/concentration problems. A have a phobia of any situation that might reveal a lack of ability to articulate. I have very poor reading comprehension and have to read and reread many times to process it or in other words there is little automaticity there when I read. I have tried 6 different medications none of which has helped. My only source of relief is avoidance and denial.
976084 tn?1270872439 I don't want to copy and paste what I wrote in my journal but if someone thinks they might want to help me can you please read it. Thank you for anyone who actually does...
766032 tn?1281641481 Sorry it's taken so long to respond, but I've been out of town. I don't use anything anymore. I met some wonderful people on here who directed me to several different sites related to ADHD, and anxiety... and I learned a lot. I started doing some of the things mentioned on various sites...and ( by taking baby steps) learned to help myself ( where doctors failed to do so with medications ). I started off by doing a little bit each day...
865817 tn?1255282081 Dr.'s say my 5 year old had ADD/ADHD and I am on the fence about meds. Have any addvice?
Avatar n tn Your son may well display ADHD, but it is important to arrange a thorough evaluation and not rush too quickly to the diagnosis. The on-line surveys can be useful tools to see if a person might display symptoms typical of ADHD, but a thorough assessment will consider a child's medical history, family history, current functioning at home and in school, possible alternative explanations for the symptoms identified on the surveys, etc.
Avatar f tn Modafinil Is newly being tried in some cases of Adhd and a drug that is being tested for bipolar.I take modafinil, which is primarily used for narcolepsy. To help with not only my Adhd symptoms ( which has really helped me especially with my concentration) and has helped with the depressive symptoms I get with my rapid cycling bipolar too.
202436 tn?1326474333 Rather than typing my whole long story here, if you wouldn't mind going and reading my journal entry titled "At a complete loss" and let me know what you think about the situation with my daughter. I live in a small area and am finding it very hard to find some help/advocacy services. Perhaps some of you may have experience with a child like this and can share your stories with me. Thanks!
662361 tn?1225334507 I've been using the pain management tracker on here but have found that even tho it's handy to use (online and is able to be emailed), it isn't always convenient to be at the computer and doesn't allow the accuracy (no side view of the body) and lacks some of the information I'd like to convey to my doctor when pinpointing specific information.
Avatar f tn I am worried that my brother may have ADHD. he is constantly on the go and can never relax. even when he asleep he is restless. He struggles to get to sleep and has temper tantrum often. He has even resorted to throwing things around the room and hitting people. Any one can help, please speak to me.
973741 tn?1342342773 Medication is amazing for treating add and adhd. But what about therapy? Do you think it helps? Lots of kids with add and adhd have social skills issues, organizational skills issues, self esteem issues. What could therapy do to help them? It's often an additional expense for parents or to the patient if they are an adult. Is it worth it?
666921 tn?1254990618 I have noticed a lot of us here have sinus problems - also neck/head - I was wondering if you would be interested in making a list - all of us could perhaps compile a list in our journal entries - maybe put symptoms in order of onset and then another list in order of severity - it would be interesting to be able to compare things easily. just a suggestion - what do you 'all' think?
327385 tn?1378360731 Sounds like your talking about my daughter, and she has ADHD. They started her off on Adderal XR, but she is now on Vyvance (sp). She did and does all the things you have listed, including the stealing and not knowing why. Your best bet is to try and find a peds doctor that specializes in ADD/ADHD. If she is found to have ADHD, so of the things she does might not go away, like the stealing.
147426 tn?1317265632 Often when I am doing a deep analysis of someone's question, I go to their journal and look at the posts they've done. I know other people do this too. I would love to see an indication of which posts were "initial questions" that is, started by that person. Those are most often the ones containing the most information.
6653958 tn?1395759593 I have a hard time focusing on anything for long,I'm not sure if bipolar and adhd have some similarities,as far back as a child I couldn't sit for long,I wanna watch tv but unless I'm on my lamactil I can't focus for long and get irritable and distracted, I'm so disappointed with my brain,.

644974 tn?1312758070 Are you trying to write a journal through the Journal interface or through the Tracker interface? On My MedHelp, on the Journals panel, you should see a link that says, Write a new journal entry. If you click that, you should see a form that has text boxes for Title, Journal Entry and Tags. Do you see that?
Avatar m tn anyone else doing a pregnancy journal for their child to read once they're older?:) I've been pretty loyal to mine.:) I hope my son will enjoy and appreciate it once he is older.
Avatar m tn s going on? If not, I would recommend doing so. What other symptoms are you having and have you ever been diagnosed with anxiety before?
Avatar f tn The most important thing you can probably do right now is keep a journal, diary, log (whatever you want to call it) of your sons behavior. That will be the best tool in getting a proper diagnosis if it becomes neccassary. A mental illness diagnosis is not scientific fact. You can get a different diagnosis from every doctor you go to. I think this is because the brain is so complicated, and there is not really a test to pinpoint one particular thing.
Avatar f tn I hate to tell you this, but it sure sounds like pregnancy to me.
